22 Pros and 9 Cons, I enjoyed hearing them all! It’s the chocolate on the pillow for me! I got used to this on my very 1st RC Mediterranean cruise, and then never again, I thought it was something cruise ships no longer did? Good to know some cruise lines still provide chocolate daily on the pillows. Thanks for sharing 🛳️🛳️

Just finished binge watching your Reflection videos. After cruising once with Disney, once with NCL, twice with RC and 20 times with Carnival, this will be our 1st Celebrity cruise. We have the Ascent booked for November but my Husband and I decided to book a quick 3 day on the Reflection in August. We used to love Carnival but the last couple cruises on the Celebration were a bit rough with the rowdy crowds. We just feel like it’s time for a big change. Our kids don’t cruise with us anymore so we don’t need the water parks, deck parties etc…We do miss all the Carnival food options when we sail RC and listening to your videos, we now know Celebrity doesn’t have extra food options either. Maybe we will just eat less then lol. Thanks for the tips and insight. Looking forward to trying Celebrity!!
@@kodysmama I think you will be pleasantly surprised. My only concern is the three day cruises with celebrity and it be on if a party ship. Food is great on Celebrity. Their buffet is incredible.
On the NCL Prima there are tablecloths in the MDR. I was fascinated how efficiently they changed them out. One such person noticed me watching every time and gave me a little grin.
We sail on the Reflection for a b2b2b (9/27-10/7/24). We sailed on the Ascent in March. We were literally off the Mardi Gras(b2b) the day we boarded the Ascent😳. We were blown away within an hour on the Ascent. We agreed we were pretty much done with Carnival once we sail our b2b in the Valor next month which is paid in full. Celebrity is a whole different world compared to Carnival😉😉. Look into an edge class ship. They are amazing 🥰
@@luvysfatlifedid a 7 Day Western Caribbean on the Ascent for its Maiden Voyage back in Dec 2023. ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL ship. Food, drinks, entertainment, amenities were all top notch.
@@SeanKasica I'm not one that's enamored with the Edge, Ascent. Apex or Beyond. Some of the things that are on the Reflection aren't on the those ships. So, it really depends on what you want in a cruise ship. I like the lounges and there's no Sky Lounge on those Edge ships which is a big turnoff for me. Eden, is in the back and has a totally different feel, not a substitute. There are less bars and sitting areas in the Edge ships than the Solstice ships. I like the Martini Bar much better on the Solstice ships, felt like a chic club. On the Edge ships it feels more like a sunken hotel lobby area. It's lively and all that, but it's different. Entertainment and amenities are all updated yes, food and drink should be similar on all Celebrity ships as well as service.
We did B2B on the Reflection last week. Great time, I highly recommend Aqua Class if you’ve got some flexibility and can book 30-45 days out when the deals can pop up. Bimini and Coco Cay are great ports, and there’s no reason to spend a dime at either unless you really want to. We were on the Reflection about two years ago and it looks the same, looks great
I think there is a small arcade in the kids/youth section. The RCL and Celebrity Apps are almost identical. I like their Apps. Thanks for the good video. I will be on the Reflection in a few weeks!
We loved our time on reflection in April of 2024. I am pretty sure we have decided to be Celebrity people if we dont have the kids and Royal folks if we do. We really loved the ship, the bars, the food, and the overall experience. I was prepared, due to your videos, to be asked about specialty dining but we actually werent approached once. The only issue we experienced was in regards to drinks as we had the classic package and I was drinking the appropriate scotch but in doubles on the rocks. One bartender reported this as an upcharge but Guest Services reversed it due to inconsistency. Technically, this is correct but it saves the bartenders time to just serve a double instead of constantly refilling a single pour.
We upgraded to premium but caught them pouring bottom shelf. We had to ask for top shelf ourselves. We really want to try Royal, but the prices are so high for us. We were shocked how cheap the Celebrity was considering what we got. The up-charge request to specialty was bad for us. It was every dad twice a day a lot of times. Glad you had a great time. We loved it.
@luvysfatlife We are going back to the Reflection in August as I churned through enough money at the casino to get an offer we couldn't refuse. Only lost $160 over 6 nights but we are going back, in the same room, which we loved! I now know to just order singles and there will not be an issue. I loved this ship and hope others enjoy it as much as we did.
we were on the solstice before they brought the beef wellington back and our waiter brought us one .the chef was trying it out. our waiter was super fantastic.
I have become a Celebrity cruiser and l have been on all of them. Celebrity is #1 for adults. Different story for families. Then RCL is good but l really love the attention to service Celebrity does.
Hello, Were you on this ship post refurbishment? I know it was do in 2023. Staterooms updated and clean? We sailed on Equinox back in 2023 and the experience was great but the stateroom very dated and the balcony had alot of rust and we couldn't use. The ship overall was excellent in all areas otherwise. We are thinking of a cruise on Reflection in 2025. Thank you.
The ship is 12 years old. How dated could the stateroom be? I understand that the Millennium and Summit have had their staterooms updated to resemble those of the Edge class. The Equinox had complaints due to it skipping a dry dock or two but the Reflection has less issues. Tech changes quickly so the connectivity and such is different now than 12 years ago and now things are controlled through screens. But in 12 years, this will all be dated as well.
I’m curious, what specialty restaurants did you eat at and not like? I’m going on Celebrity cruise next year and trying to decide what specialty restaurant to choose.
They were OK, just not what I thought considering how good the buffet and MDR were. The lawn club grill and Tuscan Grille. We did videos for both and should be under our playlist for celebrity reflection. They were not bad.
We had a drink charged to us on the Celebrity that wasn’t ours. We didn’t sign anything. All we did was went to guest services and they took off. We’ve also been charged for drinks on Carnival. They’ve never shown us our signature. They just take off. Just our experience though.
My first Celebrity cruise is coming up next week, but I've had quite a few cruises on sister cruise line Royal Caribbean. When you upload your photo to your account, they use that as visual verification - whenever they swipe your room key, they can see your photo. I think that's the way they verify that the charge is going to the correct room/person.
Well you really can't compare Carnival and Celebrity. Princess and Celebrity would be a fair comparison. Celebrity is semi luxury, and Carnival is not considered luxury.
We agree and state that in the video. We’ve said that in other videos as well, but all we could compare. Also, some of our recent carnival cruises have been as much $$$ as Celebrity cruises. We try Princess to Alaska in 2025. Thank you for watching.
I just booked our girls cruise on this ship to the A.B.C islands. I was a little worried about how old the ship is but after listening to your review, I think we will be just fine especially if the food is good. Thank you for your honest review.
The Reflection, which is part of the Solstice class, is very nice. If you want to be further wowed, try Celebrity’s edge class ships. Very good prices on the January 18 cruise ( Caribbean - 7 nights).
It should really not be considered old and I think it's unfortunate in the cruise industry that what was once considered a relatively recent ship, at 10-15 years old is now considered ancient. It's all due to expectations that the newest class is most desired and anything older is old. Ships should have a life of 35-50 years but it seems after 20 years people don't find them desirable anymore. I think as long as they are maintained to a high standard they may not be the latest in tech but still have qualities about them that are good. I actually like the Solstice class way better than the Edge class but there were earlier classes of Celebrity ships, like the Century class, I thought were best. And it's not because I think older is better. They just had more social areas over up-sell dining areas and shops. They also didn't have things like Michael's Club being an exclusive lounge for suite passengers. It was a cigar smokers lounge and later a fun piano bar. Now there are no piano bars on Celebrity ships and more and more, Celebrity is portioning off areas of the ships for fancy restaurants and lounges and spaces for suite passengers only. What if you don't care about your stateroom and want to spend your time enjoying other aspects of the ship or want to spend money on shore excursions? Food presentation in Celebrity is OK now. It used to be of a much higher standard. Celebrity wants people to go into their specialty dining to get the experience you once got in the MDRs.
