You mean my system? EDC folders in each front pocket, a compact fixed blade belt knife in right hand cross draw. Small neck knife. Concealed boot dagger. BOOM.
I got all of y’all beat. SAK hiker and cold steel super edge on main set of keys. SAK camper on spare key. Cold steel Recon 1, cold steel ultimate hunter, cold steel Finn wolf, cold steel SR1. Two front and two back pockets. Mora elderss Neckknife. SAK lite card and SAK money clip in the wallet. Leatherman wave in the smoke pouch. Then one of a dozen different 3 1/2 to 8 inch belt knives!
I love the "My favorite hard use knife" reviews. You know, the one some guy is reviewing while it's still in the bubble packaging? (But he's used it for years)
Came here long ago looking for a Ganzo review, now my wife is worried about my mental health every time a long box shows up from amazon and I have to explain why this long sharp thing is different from the last..
@@justpettet3506 I feel ya. I actually bought a Condor Golok because of this review. Its a thing of beauty. Now I just need to find a nearby convenient jungle to move to ...
Wow, your patented EDC system is 5 blades? Mine is 7 plus a cutlass. A cutlass because HEMA is the new Kendo. Hope your new place has lots of bamboo to battan. ✌️
My 3rd Heineken comment and BA opinion . I've had this same blade for 2 years and love it . The sheath is Excellent and edge retention on the steel is also Excellent . Some people have no concept of gripping the top 4 inches and using a blade like this for cleaning fish , butchering and skinning game or trimming their nails . Great video and time for another .... maybe a Corona and a slice of lime . ATB
A̶s̶ ̶m̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶s̶ ̶w̶e̶'̶d̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶U̶l̶t̶i̶m̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶A̶d̶v̶a̶n̶c̶e̶d̶ ̶W̶h̶a̶c̶k̶ ̶O̶f̶f̶ That sounded too lewd. As much as we'd like to see more choppers, I understand. We wouldn't want you getting a visit from the homeowners association Stasi, nor would we want you to get kicked out of Redwoods National Park for attempting the most extreme baton-a-thon the world has ever seen.
If you are opening a path in the jungle then golok or parang (machetes in Indonesia and Philipina) is more suitable than kukri or even axe. Its also a perfect tools to open hard fruit like coconut or durian. Axe is more suitable in chopping a tree though.
100% agree with you on finger grooves! I always wanted a Golok. I also agree with shorter blades for chopping. But yeah the Golok seemed pretty effective for harder wood chopping! Too bad yours is now worth about $2 because you used it! Had you only put in the safe It might have kept up with Condor's spiraling retail value!
Love the Condor Golok, I have this one, and an older model with thinner stock, and the tang ends before the ball. Solid performance for years, and the steel is great, it’s tough and sharpens up real nice. I carry on weak hand side for ease of draw.
In My Vain Opinion, the balding patch of large bamboo is just as vital to your channel as The Stump®️ [FYI every time i wear my AKB *purple* (b/c of course) tshirt i’m asked “www...what IS that??” (its a stump-headed youtube man-ish, stupid!)] AND that bed bath & beyond crematorium shaped lawn decoration. replacing the bamboo and crematorium with a new, secondary, generic stump (sans drilled-in marketing cap lifter) is just plain laz-oh wait, i’m comment-plaining on THIS channel.
looking at this on amazon today it is 97.22 usd. wish i had got this years ago when i first saw it. happy to have found your video. thank you for sharing.
Damn that thing needs a regrind. Some of those bits should have easily sliced through in one or two kind of like the Village Parang in that it looks like one but doesn't act like it.
I watched this video. I went away. I bought this thing. I came back. Now I own one of them. It’s heavy and got blunt very quickly. This is a comment on a RU-vid video. It’s still cool looking: like a pirate sword. Pretty useless though. The belt loop is very questionable. If you have other sharp stuff to cut things with then use that. Be well. End of RU-vid comment.
Your videos are always guaranteed a belly full of laughs, thanks for another round of fun. With rock solid info throughout for those who know how to listen for it.
Hey man! Awesome review! I like the color of the blade and handle! It looks beautiful. Personally I would never use it due to my area I found it hilarious when the car drove by as you are chopping of a branch with the Machete 😂 Thanks for the shoutout! Greatly appreciated and a big help! Have a great week/weekend and be safe!
Hanlen, serious talk: I NEED you to have a TOPS El Chete. Not want, NEED. That's been my obsession for at least the last 37 seconds since I thought of it.
I found myself sitting here entertained by your wit Sir, wondering....10 years of knife content and...Why has the algorithm only just now found You!? Damn it! I am enjoying your back catalogue and wondering if you have done a blade purchase and complimentary beer selection vid? I enjoy a good heavy strength IPA with my everyday shopping but tbh I have made my more fun buys after switching to a nice local gin. I would like to see you live shopping and perhaps having a drink every time a cold steel bootleg bounces into your feed please🍻 Just a thought. Thanks for your work.
I’m eagerly awaiting the 5 blade edc vid, although if instagram is anything to go by there are already loads of people doing it lol. Great vid as always👍🏻
The bamboo hittin' me right in the feels. If you ever have the opportunity, check out the Condor Mini Duku Parang sometime. Its my long time fave and I should be totally trusted. Also could make some sweet low-key Count Dooku puns.
I have seen this handle break. It is funny the traditional way to make them with stick tang stuck in wood or horn actually is more durable for shock absorption I think
Wrong tool for the job huh? Instead of bandages, we should start using double sided tape. Gives you better grip when chopping down trees with machetes.
Uncle Randy would be displeased. You didn't get into the tradition and culture at all. Just kept going on about pointless things like handle comfort and chopping performance.
Bro, you have what may be the worst case of Trejoitis ever seen in the northern hemisphere. Only commies, insurance salesmen and Belgians will not get the reference. This thing can lead to hanging out with the sketchy likes of Bob Deniro and Don Johnson and we know what comes after that. Seek help Bro. Come back to the Light!!
How does it feather stick? I need to know if it is EDCable cause you never know when shit could hit the fan in an urban environment and I need to make a fire to survive.
Ruining resale value is doing it right, no further discussion necessary. 😊😊😊 but apparently emojis are. Oh, and I am so telling my wife that a Bro on the internet told me to buy this - that's my excuse and I credit you for that and the ensuing divorce.
Reselling knives is like reselling shoes. You can keep them forever collecting dust or move them along to the next guy but anything I really like I just use until I can’t no more then buy another.
I really think you'd like the makara machete by condor. Ive got TWO. (bought one used for 80 bucks). Its 18 inches but has a much longer handle for better reach while still having decent one handed control due to the balance point.(because of the longer handle) Has more of a traditional machete thickness which is a plus in my opinion Its basically a budget SuperAssassin (you know, the thing Dan Keffler one hit TKO's trees with.)
The Makara looks awesome. I’ve thought several times about buying one... sometimes the amount of clicks I think I’ll get informs which one I’ll buy. That yoshimi one never did well... but this one looks like it could be a favorite. It’s definitely on my wish list.
My design and creation. I call it a Borneo Parang. 19" overall length with a 13" blade from 6150 steel, convex grind, and a burl wood handle. Weight is 1.5lbs. Hardness is 58-60. I used to make and them and others but at $90 no one wanted to pay the price so I stopped. - @t
