Hey guys so today i needed to head out for a new SD card and figuired I would bring the camera along as I had a topic I wanted to talk about.
Is the Evo X MR the perfect all around daily driver?
I mean as a fun car that you can hit some corners in the mountain's then stop by and pick up groceries on the way home all while comfortably seating 5 people. what else is there that can do it better affordably while still having great after market support and that all important "JDM Street cred"

Hi guys! Just curious how do you guys drive your Evo X MR. I usually put it sports mode / manual and once the temp is high, I switch to ssport / manual. During a full stop in a light, do you switch to Neutral as well ? Thank you!

nice info, i almost got an Evo X few weeks ago but went with Civic Type R instead just due to me personally liking the hatch body and more liveable (with honda sensing which is something i did not think i needed until i tried) in my opinion + my area not being best in terms of finding a garage that will work on an Evo except MRT, that and it drove better and had a comfort mode that actually worked only downside is with like a lot of these sports cars paint is thin as nail polish so need to have a thick skin to live with those rock chips but i used to own a WRX so i am used to bad paint haha

Thanks mate, yeah the new Type R seeks like a great car but is a lot newer so lots more modern tech in it for sure but that also means a higher price tag so it's to he expected. If you ever end up with an Evo X the garage you would want to take it to if in Sydney is definitely RP Motorsports as they're one of the top Evo X workshops in the country for sure

@@JacksonStrain yeh one day i might find a stock one but search was so hard i was at it for months with no luck last one i found there was only $6K difference between 2011 MR and 2019 Type R after driving both and hearing horror stories about some workshops not being able to work with SST gearbox (mainly from Americans because their cars in general are made to different standard than AU) i bit the bullet and went with Type R so far i am happy but time will tell.

Wow I didn't realise the 19 Type R was so cheap, yeah the SST used to be more of a problem before workshops started working on them as when under warranty Mitsubishi used to just replace the entire box of anything went wrong

@@JacksonStrain yeh i dont think it is a case Type R became cheap its a Case of the Evo X in stock form holding its Value (around 28-38K) as they are not making them anymore and often purchased/sold by "collectors" of modern classics which Evo X defiantly is

I’m an original owner of my 08 Evo X MR. I have over a 100k miles on the transmission. There are maybe two reputable places in the US to have the transmission upgraded and worked on. After 12 years of ownership, I still love driving it.

I would compare this to a mk7.5 golf R. I know the ego is better for handling but the vw is way nicer inside and drives nicer when doing normal driving. But the Evo does aggressive styling and driving better. What do you think of the mk7 and 7.5 golf r?

Yes I completely agree and those are my same thoughts on the Golf R vs Evo comparison. One thing to note is the golf's are getting cheaper and the Evos are going up in price

I must agree it's a nice car to put your handbag and lipstick....as you get older you migrate away into a kid friendly mid size SUV and the evo, if you still are allowed to have it, then transfers into the garage and transforms into a fire breathing terror weapon that scares the neighbours and rips your head off when you do pulls ;)
