As a Flash fan since the CW show premiered. I’ve seen the movie twice and I’m still disappointed we couldn’t stay away from the flashpoint storyline and get a more simple day in the life of Flash/Barry.
So I will say, the thing about Batman being retired and living like a bum was something they deleted from the final edit. At some point in Batman’s career, he accidentally killed a criminal in front of their own child, which reflected his childhood trauma causing him to quit being Batman. Not sure why it was removed as it was literally a 2 min scene and adds depth to the story but whatever.
I just love seeing you and ed again. Cannot ask for a better person to summarize a movie so eloquently and also has some background knowledge to back many things up. I am big fan of the flash point paradox and comic book movies, but I get to learn a lot from you and Ed.
Ms. Marvel was marketed as a kids' show, and it seemed they were originally leaning towards a more family/high-school oriented story and storytelling. Which was good for the first half of the season. Because she's a kid dealing with kid stuff. That would lean into the cultural stuff, which would include the over surveillance of her people. Which becomes more intense because of the discovery of her powers. But it seems they scrapped the whole idea halfway through to introduce a new story about her being a fish out of water in Pakistan and how she's related to some interdimensional race, and she needs to use her powers to connect to her ancestry. Which is a fine plot but not in the middle of another plot when you know you only have so many episodes to film.
All your movie reviews are amazing....I've actually been inspired to watch the films that were highly recommended by you guys and they've all been fire!... Oldboy and I saw the Devil were amazing and I wouldn't have discovered them if not for you guys~ Looking forward to more of these reviews for both the good and the bad films....and definitely looking forward to more possible anime reviews~
This was how I almost felt about the Pokemon cartoon as a kid. I noticed that it would always end the same way so I told myself if the next episode was the same, I was done with it.

Man, when David brought up “OG Dragon Ball” I thought y’all was going to talk about old school old school Dragon Ball when Goku was a kid. Until Ed said Cell arc and David saying it was dumb and unwatchable… Then Ed said he doesn’t like Dragon Ball to be plot driven.. when back in Old School Dragon Ball. It was very plot driven. Every character got their shine and was able to display their skillS it wasn’t about any type of transformation or screaming power ups. It was merely your training, your skill, your techniques that were passed down and being able to outwit, outperform, outlast, and outdo your opponent whether that be through pure skill or intense will and heart. It showed how Goku and others needed to use more than just brute strength to be a great martial artist but your training and experience as well but more importantly your mind and gameplan. Training arcs in Old Days Dragon Ball were clever in that sure Goku was talented from the jump but talent alone wouldn’t get he or Kuirin fare without hard work. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. Master Roshi imbedded that mentality into Goku when he was 12 years old. He also taught Goku to keep reaching for new heights as there will always be someone out there that is potentially stronger than you and will have your number. So be ready at all times. Android 8 imbedded Goku’s mentality when it come to sparing his opponents instead of giving into anger and take their life. He taught him that life is precious. Piccolo Daimao taught Goku true loss and setting aside his emotions and vengeance to become better and overcome such a mountainous situation. And Mr. Popo & Kami taught Goku about Ki, life energy, and how to essentially get out of his own way to further improve himself. Taught him to be more spiritually in tune with his already impressive physical and mental abilities. Man, their fuckin Tournament arcs were the SHIT!!! The build up, the jokes, the deceptive attacks and defensive reads were pretty dope. Tien vs Goku was probably some of the best fight Dragon Ball had. Krillin vs Goku was pretty good too even though Goku had just solo’d a damn army and multiple assassins. Yamcha gave Goku his first L Tien and Chioatzu being temporary villains.. it was all so dope to watch growing up and something I revisit till this day because it’s that good and in a lot of ways better than DBZ and DBS Dragon Ball Super on the other end was bitch to get through when I was watching it every weekend when it was airing.. but it had cool little story bits, dope animation fights, and nice call backs to the old show when he was a kid. Dragon Ball makes me wish that Dragon Ball Z and Super both held onto what made Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball.
Theirs a documentary about Nicolas Cage Superman movie. Its called "The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened? by Jon Schnepp. The documentary shows a model of Brainiac's spaceship and Nicolas Cage Superman suit lighting up. That's right the suit lights up.
The eternals movie was bad but you forgot that after a while they didn't want the thing that cameout of the ocean to be born. For it to be born the population of humans had to be a certain amount. When it was born it would destroy the planet and the eternals would have to start again in another planet. They gave the people the atom bomb so the population would go down. That's why they didn't stop Thanos and some people say Thanos was a eternal he also didn't want the thing that came out of the earth to be born in other planters as well.

Great podcast! I do agree that the Justice League Flashpoint Paradox animation movie is an incredible film and after coming out of the theatre felt a little disappoint because the potential it could’ve been like Flashpoint. However, I still like the movie even tho it has some issue. Overall, amazing discussion and can’t wait to hear you guys next movie review. Keep up the great work.❤
The greatest Flashpoint story was in the Naruto movie, Road to Ninja. The Flash's decision to leave his mom should have been a bigger deal and a harder decision. Not to mention, he spent almost no time with her after getting her back!
Never really watched super hero films but I always listen to your recommendations when it comes to shows. Ill try to watch the animated one! Also, can you yall recommend some shows these days! The last one I watched that yall recommended was Peacemaker which was AMAZING
You guys should check out Blue Beetle, it’s not perfect but it’s a really good step in the right direction for them I think, a lot of Spider-Man vibes honestly. Also just independently, if you wanna watch a really great animated Batman movie you should check out Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s actually amazing

I didn’t think the Flash was that bad. Imo I thought the Eternals, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel were boring and out of all the DCEU movies, I thought Black Adam was the worst.
I believe it was during the late '80s early '90s when marvel comics was having. Their financial issues is when they sold the movie rates all their A list superheroes. Some people knew about characters like Thor and iron Man Captain America, but they were like b list or C list heroes compared to the likes of Spider-Man, X-Men, fantastic four hulk.
I fully watched Ms.Marvel and thought it was pretty bad, I was hoping it was more like the comic because I felt they did a really good job on the comic. Also sadly the acting of the main actress was pretty bad, and the whole show feels out of touch.
And was it just me, or did anyone else watch this and go…”wait why is his mom like…THE most Spanish woman I’ve ever seen?” 😂 like ultimately that’s small potatoes but it was just like “oh, weird”
I just wish dc would release animated movies instead of live action because clearly, live action so far isn’t going too well. Just like how in anime movies, they get theatrical releases, i think DC can a have a shot preforming better on the big screen by doing animated films.
Disney only has a small studio of it's own animators. They outsource a lot of their Animation. They don't do it in house. A lot of their 2D animation is made in Korea and the Philippines. The 3D is done by smaller companies around the US. Even if they can't finish all of their 3D Animation and make it look pretty, these companies can't just tell Disney "we need more time" or they'll lose the contract and business.
It's a shame that because of studios expectations as to how they treat animation, the new 52 DC animated movies were all straight to DVD. Those movies could have generated as much money or more than the live-action DC movies they've been making ever since Batman v. Superman. The flashpoint paradox was a great starting place for a new series of animated movies and most of them were really good.
I’ve watched the cartoon years ago, I’m not going to watch this because of the real life shit that’s going on with the guy who played the flash. Can you guys give out some recommendations on movies or shows to watch.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the one piece live action had some really bad shots/scenes. I feel like everyone has been praising it for being the firs live action adaption that isn't outright shitty, but I feel like overall it still wasn't great tbh. Loved the casting though
idk personally, i thought the movie was like decent at best. definitely not great or even really "good" but i feel i've seen way worse. on paper, it was alright and has its moments even with its many flaws. with that budget, having cgi that horrid is inexcusable. every scene with both barrys interacting with each other in particular which i'm glad got brought up. like oh my god, how do you fuck up a technique that was already perfected in the goddamn parent trap
Imagine district 9 Aliens from a 2009 film with a 30 million budget look more realistic then humans within the flash movie with a budget of 200m including advanced technology in our current year of 2023 😭 WAT
Side comment : BRUH it pissed me off when they showed Nicholas cage as super man. WHO TF CARES bruh I would’ve been way more hyped if they showed the actor from smallville appear as Superman as the multiverses were crashing 🤦🏽♂️
I love the CW Flash show but the DC one that just came out STRAIGHT TRASHED. I was excited for the movie got IMAX and everything but I left less than half through the movie. It was disappointing!
What I think the problem is with superhero shows and movies is… 1. They try to make the least offensive things ever while also making a statement, so ultimately it falls flat. It’s what happens when you want to maximize your audience at the cost of creativity. For example, when they want to focus on a particular culture, they feel like they can’t go beyond surface level at the risk of alienating most of their audience. 2. They, specifically Marvel, want the movies to look like they belong in the same universe which makes most of the movies look bland. She-Hulk had the opportunity to make a superhero show shot in the style of Law and Order, BUT THEY DIDN’T DO THAT!!!!!! (I’m so mad about it.) 3. I feel that they don’t want to challenge the audience who are not comic book fans so no matter how good the story they are adapting is, it gets boiled down to a shadow of what it wasSome things won’t work in film but stripping away the things that give stories texture and intrigue is silly to me. 4. This is an issue with Marvel Specifically, there are no mid-level/reoccurring villains. (Loki doesn’t count) With no villains that return it takes away the tension of the villains overall because we know they will be killed or turned into a good guy by popular demand. ( à la Loki) 5. They need to PAY THEIR CGI ARTIST if they insist on it being in their movies.

Ezra Miller is quite possibly the worst Flash ever even with there being so few of them. No offense to anyone of course, but as I watched the movie I was honestly like “is Barry Allen supposed to be autistic in this movie or something?” Also the film itself was written as if the person that wrote it has never seen any Flash content, read any of the comics or reviewed source material but they’ve seen the last 2 years of Marvel films and think they can apply a formula that you can’t just haphazardly replicate.
They did explain why Batman looked like a hobo. It was because they wasnt any more crime in Gotham so there was no need for a batman in that world. So essentially he was retire and had no purpose in life lol
You had it right with the Broly movie being solid. Instead of going back to the series try rewatching the DB and DBZ movies 1-13. Those are classic short and sweet fun usually. And the 2 TV specials, Bardock Special and Trunks Special. The animation is usually a step above the series as well. I highly recommend checking out the Bardock (Bardock the father of Goku) and Trunks (The history of Trunks) specials first and let us know what you think of it now. Enjoy. Toriyama has lost his damn mind. When he first came out with the idea of a saiyan God, but decided to call it Super Saiyan God, I knew he messed that up. Then when they do go super Saiyan while in God form, he decides to call it super Saiyan God super saiyan. 😂 Should've went with Saiyan God for the red form and then super Saiyan God for the blue form.
@@CamberRockerCamber lol, DB Super did go off the rails for sure. But I did enjoy the latest movies tho like Broly and DB Super Hero. The animation for the movies have always been on point. That’s why I recommended them to just rewatch the movies and TV specials. Those old movies are like 42 mins. Short and sweet.
In the Flashpoint animated movie, the first lightning strike doesn't work either. It took two tries too. Flashpoint is a million times better than The Flash lol

The cartoon flash movie was amazing , the flash movie is doodoo, and ed said it best they have the blueprints we as dc fans want to see wat we have read in the comics come to life not a whole new story, stop making up ur own version and give us the comics, marvel dies and adds a lil of there own ideas but mainly stick wit the story itself
I was SHOCKED that people were loving the Ms. Marvel show because I hated it. Kamala's power is bad cgi just like live-action Green Lantern instead of just being able to embiggen parts of her body, the "Clandestines" seemed kinda out of place for a street level superhero, and the writing was so bad. To give you a taste of what I mean, there was a Pakistani man who falls for this woman who's secretly a Clandestine, and the man tells the woman "Why are you keeping secrets from me? Just tell me what's going on!". The woman tells him her situation and about her being a Clandestine, and the man goes "Why are you telling me all of this?" 🤦♂ YOU LITERALLY JUST ASKED
