Welcome to an FM24 Experiment from our annual save, The Head Coach. After encountering several problems with our Director of Football at Bayern Munich, following the Winter updates for Football Manager 2024. We're going to run a series of experiments to try and determine what's wrong with the DoF in FM24! Is it a glitch or bug? Today, in part 1, we resign from Bayern Munich and see whether their transfer habits change without us.

What are the transfers like in the Southend save? Do they look like this or is there a lot more in that save, if you have the German leagues running on there of course.

More in the Southend save but I only loaded that league part way through the save. In the Aberdeen Twitch save on the January update, the Bundesliga is much busier! 😫

After the teaser i thought it was just the DOF you had and with the 3 signings it had resolved itself, bizarre Although for the "FM is too easy" lovers, at least it made it harder haha

I think I might have been able to fix my Head Coach YT save. Joined a new team after struggling at my old club with transfers (similar to your situation). However, after 3 poor to average transfer windows, I decided to help move the transfers along and so put a player who was linked with me as a transfer target. He joined, and the rest of the transfer window went averagely. However, come the next window, the DOF (the same person who wasn't doing much) started buying players, and we spent 150m on players. All which were good plus the only ones to leave were those transfer listed, unhappy or loan listed. And before anyone thinks, no I didn't use the transfer target system as the DOF started signing players immediately into the window. I don't know if it lasts into to the next window but the signings were like at the start of FM24. Maybe something to try in Alternative Head Coach? Otherwise another game rule from now on the Head Coach is that if the DOF is beyond terrible the viewers can then agree to terminate the DOF's contract to see if it gets better. Maybe you could do something where you unlock the ability by, say, winning a cup or league for the first time in your career? But then once used you have to win something else to re-unlock it? Something along those lines.

We've done a bonus part 4 of this experiment, as was requested by many. We changed the DoF and the results were interesting. It seems to be OK in other leagues though, so hopefully the alternate Head Coach will be fine! 🤞
