I bought myself a 2008 Ford fusion SEL V6 with 190,000 miles for $500 and it was dirt cheap for one reason, code P0303 aka misfire on cylinder 3. I replaced all the spark plugs and coil packs and she now runs like a dream. Best $500 I ever spent.
NICE!!!! I hope that car continues to serve u well! I have a 2008 Fusion SEL V6 with 172K miles and it still is serving me very well! I'm in love with this car and will buy another 2006-2009 fusion once this one rusts itself in half.
When my Hyunsai Elantra showed a code for misfire on cylinder four it wasn't the plug or coil, it was low compression. You would never know anything was wrong were it not for the check engine light. 50,000 miles so Hyundai replaced the engine. Well short block they reused the head.
I got a 2011 Fusion SE a week before March 2020. I've never had a serious issue with it. By paying for it in cash, I've been able to get rid of $50k in student loans.
I have a 2007 Ford Fusion SEL V6 with 344,000 miles. Other than regular maintenance, I have only replaced throttle body and water pump. Everything still works and runs and drives excellent.
Oh wow! 344k miles that's impressive, I have a 2006 with 240k miles and thought that motor was about to die down anytime soon, that gave me some hope on adding more miles... runs like a champ!!!
@@edwardgonzalez5178 Castrol 5w20 It is now about to hit 370,000, had to replace one wheel bearing since last time I posted. Still my daily driver and everything still works like it should.
@@JaPaNeSe_MxD_707 the only big ticket item that needed replaced was the fuel pump. It would have been an $1,100 job, but likely it was covered under the extended warranty. I have put all new, springs, shocks and struts on it as well, but that is to be expected once a car crosses 200k miles mark.
Ive got an 06 ford fusion with the 2.3L 5 speed and shes pushing a quarter million miles. Im the 4th owner its been totaled twice and still gets almost 30 mpg lol ive had it 4 years and im just gonna keep fixing it because its just so reliable.
I own a 2012 Fusion with the 2.5 engine and it has been the best car I've ever owned and I'm 73. It might end up being my final car. In 11 years I've replaced 2 tail lamps and that interior door handle and that's it!
I am looking at my neighbor's 2009 one owner 4cyl one with 150k miles for $500. It's just been sitting since his wife died. Video was definitely helpful for my decision. Thank you
I’ve had my 2012 SEL for four years now in the red candy tint metallic color. Got it when it had just over 98k miles. Today I’m approaching 163k and it’s still going great. Just couple weeks ago I had my transmission flushed for the second time of owning it. It’s a fully loaded one with factory nav, sunroof, the 12 speakers only system, the BLISS system etc. only thing missing is AWD. The first gen fusions, particularly the ‘1.5 gen” models from 2010-2012 still look great today. The style still holds up pretty well.
@@smileyk4129 I bought a 2011 ford fusion se 2.5L 4 cylinder with 127k miles on it, now it has 152k miles on it. No major problem. My first year of ownership I put 22k miles on it. So far it’s been pretty solid. Just don’t forget to do maintenance. Just look for a good one and check all the fluids and take it for test drive. If you have any questions feel free to Ask.
The Ford AWD system of this era has issues----you're lucky not to have one. Now it's not that every single one is bad, but I looked into it---and it's a common issue that is very expensive to fix.
@@Ccg9024 man i needed to hear this, im going to test drive a 2012 sel tomorrow, 106k miles. Im guessing SEL trim is fully loaded ? Anymore feedback bro ?
I've had my '09 SEL v6 AWD for 9 years. I do all my own work on it. Just like the video said, I've replaced the outside rockers and the trans cooler lines. Also replaced gas tank, drive shaft and front control arms. Other than that, just basic maintenance. Best car I've had. 😊
My gf and i have one of these for just 750 dollars. 262,000 miles when we got it. Its been over a year now and we have driven over 5k miles and heres list of maintenence we have done: changed tires, changed front rotors and breaks, changed spark plugs and coils, changed valve covor gasket, two tie rods, 4 ball joints. Sounds like a lot but we need a cheap reliable car and weve done this gradually over a year. Total spent on this car probably about 3-4k for a running car and a year of driving could be worse. Im pleased especially for a car that total to buy was 750. Hope it keeps running for me
Man! Can confirm! I have a 2012 SE with the 2.5 and it's been nothing but a sweet cruise. I bought it in 2013 and as I am typing this, it is sitting @ 197489 miles. No major repairs or complaints other than, as you said, the dang door handles, adding a bit better quality speakers, and changing the occasional light bulb. I am about to replace my valve cover gasket as the original is starting to show it's face. I found some oil on my coil packs. It's a natural occurrence and I can not complain! Working on this thing is easy. The space it offers is great. The ride is fantastic. It does have some umph when you give it the beans l -- over all it's a solid choice if you can find one.
I also had a 2012 Ford fusion SE and mine had a sunroof which was pretty cool; mine had high mileage when I bought it, and it did have a little bit trouble shifting And for some reason it overheated, but besides that it was pretty good!
I own a 2011 ford fusion, and it’s nice. It’s coming up on 200,000 miles with no major issues! It’s super rusted, but it runs like a dream. I have begun to save for a new car though 😂
Are they known for rusting a lot? I'm looking into buying a used 2010 my state has inspection though and rust is one of the things they like to look really hard at.
Those are good cars they are built on a frame so as far as rust goes the crown Vic's and mercury grand marquis built with thicker metal so most of them hold up to rust very well.
I have a Ford Fusion 2011 SE, my dad gave it to me, it is the best car ever!! It is very comfortable and I feel safe on it. I do all the oil changes and everything it needs to be in perfect conditions! It has 113,000 miles.
@@melodyxiong8094 Just my very uneducated opinion, but it seems the later model Fusions don't do as well. For some reason, 2009 - 2012 were the golden years for Fords. They were also built during a big economic downturn, so they seemed eager to build good, solid cars. Not going to lie, the later model Fusions look super cool, though.
I just obtained a 2006 sel v6 fusion, and I have replaced the battery and have some window issues, but overall it drives like a champ everything still works! And I’m just thrilled with it. And it’s got a new motor installed by Ford. Leather, heated everything, and new tires. Only complaint I can think of is that it’s front wheel drive is really difficult to control in snow or icy conditions I’m in Idaho so it’s kind of a thing! But over all I love ❤it!
I bought a used 2012 loaded SEL. Sony stereo, heated leather seats, sunroof, V6, on and on. Needed two tires replaced. Needed rear brakes. Repaired some rust on rear rockers. All done. It has a lot
In Australia we have had mazda clone ford's for some time very reliable, no so much rust, we don't use salt on roads, unless near the beach, our lazer were mazda 323, meteor, mazda 626,etc lasted well, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Just got my daughter a 2011 2.5L SE w/ 137k miles. Solid car and nice set of features. Rockers have some rust bubbling, but all in all, very nice starter car in my opinion
I had a 2011 2.5 SE. bought it at 25k miles. Lasted till 266k before daughter wrecked it, never in the shop, ever, best car ever. I bought a 2012, bought my daughter another 2011, both going strong!
My first car was an 09 Buick lacrosse about a year ago, but after 3 weeks it got totaled in an accident. Got myself a 10 fusion sel with just about all the bells and whistles for its trim, and I absolutely love this car. Haven’t done any maintenance other than oil changes so far, I get pretty good gas mileage, and you can’t not enjoy the power of the 3.0 V6 in these things. Couple that with all the space inside, and I really don’t think there’s a better first car than the first gen fusions
Bought a 2012 fusion brand new and I still have it. Over 200k miles and 2 minor accidents and it’s still going. I did have to replace the door handle myself a couple times. To be fair, I delivered pizza part time for a little bit so I was in and out of the car a lot more than your average driver.
Overall these years are great in my opinion. I own a 2008 sel v6. The biggest issue i ran into was the ambient temp sensor for the ac is behind the dash! what a BIG job to take that dash down just to replace a 30$ part.
The fuel door is the seal on capless gas models. clean around the fuel door good or replace the seal will more than likely & cheaply fix the check motor light
I have a 2012 Fusion with 280,000 miles on it and I can honestly say it is the best vehicle I have ever owned!!!! Other than regular maintenance, I have had to do very little to it!!!
I have a 2010 Fusion with the Cool Fusion Package which are graphics. 3.0L I bought it in 2014 and It's been great. This morning it had a rough idle and a cylinder # 5 code. While checking it out I found a wire had been chewed by a squirrel. Fix it runs fine again.
2011 Fusion SE 2.5L currently has 182k miles on it and I’ve only had AC compressor go out and motor mounts replaced and water pump replaced pretty good for 8 years of ownership.
This video is so true I bought a 2007 fusion se 2.3l in the middle of pandemic from a neighbor for $2,500 with only 76,000 miles!!!! It needed a lot of stuff , it was running in super rough condition but with RU-vid to help me it was easy. I drove that thing everywhere for 3 years it now has 123,000 miles and is my 18 year old sons car now bc I got a 2017 f-150. Hands down that fusion was the best car I’ve ever owned I’m always looking for cheap ones on Facebook for a backup emergency car just in case. But I really want it bc those cars run great.
1st & 2nd Gen Focus is kind of the same M.O, Many parts shared with Mazda including it's engine. With basic maintenance will run virtually forever! I have an 07 with 234K miles still going strong. It's a smaller car but for easy/cheap to fix A to B car it's a good one as well!
Hi, just started watching the channel. I used to own a 09 Milan with the 2.3 L and Mazda based tranny. I traded it at 275 K. It was a fantastic car and is still appealing to the eye. My current vehicle is a 07 Marquis GS with 87 K. It has also been a fantastic vehicle.
Thanks. I agree. I've been looking at the newer Fusions to perhaps purchase in the future. They continue to have a Mazda derived 4 cyl based on the 2.3l, but the auto transmissions are no longer Mazda based and I heard they are plagued with problems unfortunately.
@@JO-ku1uc yes 2013 to 2016 had issues by 2017 and newer they were alot better. So if looking I'd look for a 2018 that was probably the best year for the 2nd gen Fusion
Currently have a 2010 Fusion Sport. Purchased in 2018 with 82k miles on it and now at 185k miles in 2024. Only major repair was the water pump back in 2019 after it got past 100k miles. Currently have a Tuning By James 93 octane tune on the car and it definitely opens up the potential of the engine more and it has been very fun to drive as my daily.
I have had my 2010 Ford fusion 6 speed since 2016. I have drive it across the country 4 different times and it's my everyday driver. The most I have had to spend on it was for the brakes. I have no complaints at all and love the car
I just bought a 2012 ford fusion sel with 101,000 but the dealer got it 6 months ago with 97,000 mi on it. I bought it after test driving it for $8,300. It's really nice to hear you say that this is a good car. I panicked after I bought it thinking I had made an impulsive decision. Lol.
One of the reasons I was excited to get my 2017 SE is because it had the 2.5. I did my research and told my dealer I go to for vehicles that it would be perfect if he could find a 2.5, worst case I would be fine with the 2l ecoboost but luckily he found one at 63K miles. I want simplicity in my daily driver so a decent NA 4 cylinder is great and the 2.5 fits perfectly. Nothing but oil changes and its at 90K. Great engines and simple too. I hate how so many engines are getting turbos plastered onto them, just give me a NA simple efficient engine damnit lol.
Bought a 2011 fusion in 2022. Ran great with no issues. February 2023 the power steering stopped working and it might cost me upwards of $2,000. Engine has no issues. A car built in 2011 with 60K miles and finally the power steering stops working. I’d say that’s not too bad.
I had to get my power steering replaced as well. But it didn't cost $2000. Of course, that was prior to inflation. Is this a dealership estimate? If so, try a good repair shop for a different quote. Could be a lot cheaper.
@@fos9698 I did get it replaced at the dealership. one week later the power steering stopped working again. The dealership told me that the part has a 2 year warranty and replaced it again at no cost.
Awesome video! I got a good fusion last year 3.0 v6 with 160km on it! Guy only wanted $5800CAD and during that time the used car market was so hot it was a bargain!
Bought a 2012 Fusion 2.5l it was a rental car from Enterprise, Hertz I don't remember. It had over 96,000 miles, it currently has 237,000+ miles, other than normal maintenance stuff it's still going strong. My wife drives it to work, and around town to save miles on her new car. It has been very dependable, not a bad thing to say about it.
Had 4 fusions for the two boys, bought all 4 for 8k or under, all SEL's, 2 were totaled in accidents, white one had 370k before accident ran great, last one I bought was a 2012 with 72k, got it for 7k cash safeted, boy is still driving getting him thru med school, best used cars
I have a 2012 Ford Fusion SEL. It is equipped with the Microsoft Sync, navigation system and a cd-playee which has the larger screen. For those who don't know, this particular stereo has a built jukebox that can store up to 2650 songs or tracks. If you have one of these systems, it is very easy to upload your cd's. 1. Put in your favorite cd into cd player. 2. Click on the 'record' icon on the screen (located on the bottom right on the screen 3. The system will automatically upload your songs/tracks. 4. Once the cd has been uploaded, remove the cd from the stereo.
I own a 2010 se... original owner. I had to only replace throttle body, transmission cooler lines, 2 door handles and just your regular maintenance. Some things are about to go like the rear antenna but nothing really expensive. Great vehicle.
I'm still driving my 2010 Fusion SEL. Bought new in January 2010. 69,000 miles now. Main problem I found was if I left my IPOD plugged in to aux inside the console the battery would drain and go dead. The 12v outlet on the console is not powered unless the car is running or in aux mode. The USB outlet is always powered. Four batteries in five years before I figured it out. And yes, I also had to replace the lever on the driver door. Inexpensive replacement part from Amazon and a bit of labor fixed it easily and cheaply. West Coast car so no salted roads or rust. I wanted it to be my last new car and so far it still goes back and forth.
ooooooh Chev Cruze is a bit of red siren warning car, stay away IMO!! In Australia sold as the Holden Cruze, many folk were absolutely burned by the poor quality, reliability and expensive repairs, it broke the hearts of many young female first car buyers, but the Mazda 6 based Ford Fusion is definitely a good choice. BTW, love the channel and name!, i'm 49, been in the car industry 28 years, consider myself a bit of an Olde Carr Guy!
I'm going to get rid of my Chevy Cruze 2011 LT. I got from a family member and at first it drove good but over the past year. Every 3 months I had to replace something and now im just tired of it lol. I'm looking at a Toyota Corolla 2012 or Ford Fusion 2010. Wish me luck 😅
Bought a 2011 for my son. Had it a year, has 80,000 miles now. Front end was making all sorts of creeks, pops, front tires were wearing on the edges. Took it to my mechanic and he found the tie rods, ball joints, all had to be replaced. Then add the rear brakes and calipers, and we have a $1800 bill. Never had to do this to a car before with this low of miles.
Yep. Ive got a 2011 and just had to do that. Did the job with my dad whos a mechanic. The suspension on this car wears out way too fast. I thought that was strange too. It has front and rear lower control arms so TWO ball joints on the knuckle. Never had ball joints that were so hard to press out. Literally bent a ball joint press and had to cut the control arm off at the joint to get a bigger tool and more leverage on it.
these were really solid vehicles. my mom gave me her '10 SEL 2.5L in sep 2018 with 66k miles. had it until april 2022 and someone ran a red light and hit me, insurance totaled it. and gave me $6k for it. throttle body went out at 75k miles and was replaced under a extended recall, electric power steering went out at 114k miles my local Ford dealer fixed it for free. transmission was messed up because the fluid was never changed but the car never left me stranded. 3 years before the car was totaled someone brake checked me and i rear ended someone at 40mph, my fusion only had a cracked headlight and the other drivers bumper was caved in, even though Fusions were made in Mexico these cars are tanks!
Ive got a ford fusion. I would say thats technically a second gen. They made changes to the aesthetics as will as the powertrain in 2010. It got a 3.0v6 duratec that started implementing cam inertial driven VVT and flex fuel for E85. there was some changes to the tranamission as well with the addition iof a dipstick. Slight HP increase.
I bought a 2011 with over 247,000 miles on it with the 4 cylinder in it for a song.... It was to be my daughter's first car. Had it for only a few weeks when some teen on a phone did not notice that we were all stoped and totaled it.... With the money from that I Immediately and with no hesitation bought the exact same car. This car is a true hidden gem!!!!
I bought my 08 SEL , 6 cyl new in 08. I'm still driving it with 147,000 miles. 2 days ago I noticed oil dripping which turned out to be the pressure sensor in the power steering pump. it was a $35 easy fix. Airbag recall was repaired last year along with Anti lock brake recall . Beside normal maintenance like brakes and tires Ive had nothing go wrong with this car . My car also shines like the day it was new .
Love my 2007 SEL V6. I baby it. Experiencing some oil leaks but that will be addressed next time I take it in. I refuse to get a new car with all the screens and gadgets that will cost a ton to repair in a short amount of time. I do miss my radio display though. Stopped working years ago along with the cd changer.
Bought a 2012 fusion SEL V6 with 39k. Im now at 117k and the only issue i had was the water pump. Not that it failed but was leaking around the pulley. Hands down the easiest water pump change. Drive 80 miles a day. They are good cars.
The door handles break because the lock button is attached to the door handle and if you accidentally hit the lock button either on the door trim panel switch or the key fob when your opening the door then plastic lower handle part will break.
Thanks Jason for the input... I will keep it in mind for the wife's next car. I'll stick with my 21 yr old Grand Marquis (my vote for best bang for the buck)! 😎
That check filler door message can also occur if the actual quick fill gas cap gets fouled with debris and other dirt. It needs to be serviced periodically. Open the door, inspect use compressed air to blow out any large pieces of debris and some brake cleaner on a rag for, the outside of the quick fill. After that, get the emergency roadside funnel and some WD-40. Spray down the hole where the filler nozzle goes in and then repeatedly insert an extract the emergency road funnel. Repeat once or twice and then reset the message. After one or two drive cycles it should either stay off or come back. if debris keeps that quick fill cap from completely shutting, when you extract a filler nozzle, the car thinks that the filler door is open.
Have a 2011 Fusion S. Runs great. Had to replace the drivers side door release as well I have replaced the AC blower motor twice. Otherwise it's been awesome.
I got a 2011 mercury milan premiere edition (fwd no idea if milan made awd ones) as my first car during highschool. $14k at around 60k miles at the time, still own it sitting at 160k miles. Lots of fun times, lots of not so fun times lol Some of the biggest issues I ever had was 1. A half done tune up job meaning midas didn't find the hidden steel bracket connecting the intake manifold to the firewall (thanks for taking my $300 midas) so I had my buddies dad help me with that big ups to him 2. The power steering recall, I found out mine was computerized I guess and was lucky my buddy found out ford had a recall on it that I never got from the dealership amd thankfully they honored it, would've been a $3k job atleast from what the dealer told me 3. Worn out cv axle on my driver side mix of abuse and wear an tear I'm not going to lie lol 4. This was the gasket for the oil pan. Me an my buddies didn't want to snap any of the bolts under to free the exhaust to take out the oil pan itself so we just cut the pipe instead to save us time plus we get to hear my car kinda clapped out so it was a win win in my eyes lol And 5. The a/c is weak, no idea how to go about that and way to lazy to take the dash apart to take a look an whatnot so any ideas from those who sufferered the same as i any help/info would be appreciated! (It still works but not as strong and my center right shutter is hardly blowing air) Are there better first cars out there? Sure this one definitely gave me a long rolling headache but honestly I kinda find it hard to want to get rid of it, and now I'm saving for hopefully a 2011 5.0 mustang #thankyoufordmayihaveanother 😂
I had a 2012 2.5 got it with 30,000 miles drove it supper bad ,did do simple maintenance on it and when I sold it it had 150,00 miles on it all city driven. I loved the car.get you one.
Put the emergency funnel in the fuel fill inlet and spray some WD-40 around the outside. Then work the funnel in and out opening and closing the flap. Then replace the purge valve. It’s only like 20 bucks.
My cousin has a 2006 Fusion, it’s a nice car. I like the body style, they seem nice. If I didn’t have my Camry, and needs a affordable, decently reliable midsize car, i would consider a 2006-2012 Ford Fusion.
@@OldeCarrGuy The first generation Ford Fusion, a GM car with the 3800 V6, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Toyota Corolla, or a Honda Civic I think are the best choices for used first cars, that have decent reliability.
Yes the 1st gen Fusions 2006-2012 honestly weren't bad cars! Basically Mazdas. The 2nd gen 2013-2020 Fusions were supposedly more reliable and more related to the Taurus but you can still get one with the Mazda engine in which to the surprise is the base S model.
the problem with the drivers side door handle is if you lock thr door, after opening it, and turn off the engine ar the same time, the plastic lock mechanism in thr drivers side door handle will break. I've broken them twice, now I'm a lot more patient about locking the door after opening it from the inside and turning off the engine in my 2010 Ford Fusion
The only gripe i had with the 1st gen fusions were they made the interior cheap. The Inside door handles would break due to them being made from plastic. The fake sticker chrome they put around the gear selecter would start to fray and the grab handles would start to sag on their own. But the powertrain was oretty reliable. now the 2nd gen fusions interior were made much better, it just has better quality all the way around, but they suffer one huge issue and thats the cooliant instrusion issue on the 1.5, 1.6 and 2.0L ecoboost engines. From 2012 sept to april of 2019 models. But if you got the naturally asperated 2.5L engine you were good which is what i have in my 2018 fusion.
I own a 2011 Fusion SEL 3.0 V6...the 12 speaker SONY stereo alone is worth the price of admission. It's been a great car, but not exactly trouble free. I had a pretty bad oil leak, had to replace all the seals in the motor. Had a transmission fluid leak from one of the main seals. Replaced the oil pan/seal. Basically everything that's made from rubber on this car has rotted causing leaks, lol Currently have an intermittent Check Engine Light that my scan tool says it's something with EVAP. Btw, there was a recall on that Canister Purge Valve you refer to in the video...at least here in the US, not sure about Canada. I do live in the Northeast US, so yes I've also started to develop the rust on the rocker panels you refer to. Idk...all the work I've had to put into this vehicle has kinda made me think it's a mixed bag. I still recommend it to people, because it has been reliable overall, but if someone is expecting Honda or Toyota levels of reliability, this ain't it chief. I keep the car going because there really isn't anything like it left. Ford discontinued sedans, and Chevy is likely going to follow by cancelling the Malibu. I don't want a Japanese car because honestly they ride like ox carts compared to the smooth boulevard ride that only an American sedan can provide. I don't want an SUV, so I guess I'll just keep fixing the Fusion.
There are exceptions to every rule! Even Rolls Royce has mechanics. The point I was trying to make here was that bang for buck, the Fusion is one of the least problematic vehicles we’ve sold at my dealership over the last 14 years.
@@OldeCarrGuy It's only on the 3.5 cars. The 3.0s and 2.5s are normal cars. If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have got a Sport. The only reason I keep mine is because it's soooo fun. It'll kill the speedo in 4th gear and still pull hard in 5th and 6th gear. It's not turned.

Interesting...Yesterday, Oct 21, 2023......I just bought a 2009 Fusion with 58,000 miles for my wife. Its a beautful car....I wish it had the Sync for her phone but it doesn't. Planning on putting a JBL or Kenwood touch screen radio with XM and back up camera in it this week. Oh, and Plus remote start. It seems to be a decent car.
I have a 2008 SEL (V6) with about 260k miles. The rear main seal is leaking and suspension could use a replacement. But it’s a kid car now. Door handles are a weakness. Regular maintenance of course which is fairly easy except spark plugs on the back side are a pain. but I’m trying to think of anything major needed to be done. Maybe a water pump.
09 2.3sel here. Kids car. He thrashes it but drives nice and calm. Dealing w a check engine at 82k but its think its more than a small vaccum leak. I wish he loved it like i do 🥴
My wife owned a 2011 fusion 2.5 (factory forged engine) for 10 years. We sold it to my sister who’s still driving it! 140k miles, no major repairs EVER
Just subscribed to your channel . Looking forward a reliable car to replace a rusting 2006 Honda Civic. Living in Southeastern Virginia, I am now junking my 2nd vehicle due to corrosion. I will not buy a car again with a history north of Maryland. I was looking at a 2nd generation Fusion, but the 1st generation looks better mechanically. You are among 3 RU-vidrs- the Car Wizard and the Ford Boss who endorse this car. I’m sold!!
I was looking at a 2007 Fusion with a 3.0 V6 engine for sale with 42K miles. Car Edge says it’s been on the dealer’s lot for almost 2 years. I wonder why it hasn’t moved. Maybe the car has issues?? Overpriced at $9700.
Definitely on the high side price wise! Reason for it being there for so long could be many reasons. Not all necessarily bad. Someone’s wife or family member may have been driving it, may have been a courtesy vehicle or loaner or it simply could be the price! Never hurts to ask!
@@slipperyblueclay2521in in New Brunswick actually, but one thing to keep in mind is that km’s and condition is everything and that’s likely what they’re banking on. Impalas are reliable as well put 100k on my 2008 with no problems till I sold it... right now I have a 2010 Ford focus with 80k bought it for 2k hope Ford doesn't disappoint me
I had a 2007 Focus it was ok but once they're about 10 years old w/ a lot of miles on them they start having issues. You should be ok though since it has such low miles. Ford and GM both have bad ideas for the body styles they give their cars. Always a weird back or too boxy or something. The 2010 Fusion is one exception I feel it looks about just right. The 2007 era Focus wasn't bad either especially the models that had the spoiler on it which is what I had. .
I had a 2012 ford fusion se 2.5 got it in 2017 with 85k and drove it til 180k in 2022 and it would have kept going if it wasn't for a dang deer lol. I got a 19 Ford escape at that point (biggest pile of crap) I still have that car but have now bought a 2011 Mercury Milan premier with a 3.0 with 247k miles as a work daily and I've already gotten it to 254k. Love those things.
Technically this is a 1.5 generation fusion. The first generation only had a 5 speed auto and manual transmission. They also only had the 3.0 for the v6 option. I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL 2.5L with a 6 speed manual transmission. It does 35 mpg hwy and around 29 city. Its also fairly quick compared to the automatic. I bought it in 2019 and had only 2 issues, ABS module and a slave cylinder going out. I got Forscan on my laptop for 20 bucks and able to program it easily. The slave cylinder went out because the brake fluid was never changed. Incredibly reliable car otherwise. If you want a little more modern car, look for the 2013-2016 2nd gen Ford Fusions with the 2.5L and 6 speed manual. They are hard to find but they are the only 2nd generation that uses the exact same powertrain as the older Fusions. Those are very reliable as well.
I had a 2011 Mercury Milan for almost 4 and a half years. I got it on June 21,2012. I was hoping for a Fusion. The Fusions the dealership had have almost 40,000 miles on them. When I first test drove it was a little bit a bigger car. It took me awhile to get used to the size of it. Both of my parents drove it for a couple weeks. When I got my hands in driving it. It was a comfortable car. I was in a car accident back in early March 2012 and drove a 2005 Ford Focus ZX5 SES trim level. I had broken my left ankle in it. That little car did a rolled over. It was pretty scary for me. I didn’t felt my ankle breaking at that time. I checked both of my knees are fine and even my right ankle, too. I knew something is wrong with my left ankle. When I gotten the Mercury Milan that I was recovering from the broken ankle and even used a walker for distance in walking. I can manage not using it. I did got in a couple accidents with the Milan with hitting a deer in 2016. The 2nd time hitting a deer the car was totaled. I did some damage on the back near the passenger door that I accidentally scraped it against a mail box for the post office. That wasn’t a good sign. I got upset on it. Still drivable. I think it was in 2014 or 2015 when I done that. There was road construction on the main road during those years. I was kind of sick of driving when the road was being redone. I had a 2015 Ford Escape SE that I gotten in late March 2017. I had that vehicle for almost 5 years. I had an oil leak from the engine. It died on me when I was driving in it. I was so lucky it got up a hill and even got to the shoulder across from a BP gas station. I stayed in the car because of the snow and the traffic. I was getting colder in the vehicle. It was 35 degrees. I waited for the tow truck for almost a hour. I did climbed in the tow truck and I got warmed up very quickly. The guy was friendly. He drove to the dealership. I climbed out of the tow truck. I was a hour late for the appointment. It costs a little bit over 8,000 dollars to fixed or replace the engine. I even texted my sister what to do. I was stuck at the dealership w/o having a car. Luckily the dealership had 2 Escapes on the lot. A 2019 one in white or 2020 one in black. My sister wanted me go for the white one. It had leather seat and even a moon roof and it was a higher trim level. I went for the 2020 one because of the cloth seats in it. It does have almost all of the features that I want. It didn’t have fog lights on it since it is a SE trim level. I got it in mid March of this year and I just loved driving it.
