Will this course actually help you land an entry level job with one of the companies they say they work with? I have a fear of taking this course and wasting the money because they dont see it as enough experience to hire anyone. I have a full time low wage retail job and i dont really have the time for unpaid internships.

There's a Udemy course that I'm currently taking online called "The Complete Digital Marketing Course 12 Courses in 1" it teaches you everything from how to make your own website, to email marketing, SEO, copywriting, how to market yourself and navigate a lot of current platforms like YT, FB, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. It has a ton of great info for freelancers or people wanting to have their own businesses. Hope this helps.
He did mention this at the 2 min mark about. Yes, because to grow your business you need sales. It depends how you apply it. But if you are asking this question, there might be other key factors holding you back
I took this course and a handful of others and found out unless you are going to get more accredited training or go back to school then your resources from Coursera are limited AND finding those jobs are too. This course is nice and gives you many pointers but unless you have previous experience or plan on getting more after this, then the only real route it to try to do freelance work and if all the work you have is from the course, you won’t get anywhere. So all in all I’d say this course is useful, but as an add-on tool and I’d say that about any Google certificate course.
@@dimpith2311 are you asking about taking this as a “refresher” or if you are asking if you are “fresh” to the industry. The answer to both is say for sure give you an amazing basic understanding, but that’s exactly that. So I would recommend this course to anyone but I’d also recommend taking other courses and making/building your portfolio with projects of your own.
Personally i want to apply these skills on my personal brand, a prototype and my current business, wrong move as an entrepreneur but right as a long term investment would you still recommend
@@Dee.the.creator if you are going to use these courses to build your brand and stay up on the knowledge and expand and essentially create your own brand and portfolio then yes I absolutely recommend these because you would be a freelancer which I feel like you need to be for many of the careers. It’s hard to earn a position anywhere with just these credentials on your resume, not impossible just difficult because they’ll look for those with degrees in the same background or just someone with experience first.
I've been moving through the course really quickly , I'm on module 3 now and there's only four on there so I'm a little confused about the proposed timeline ?😅
So basically... What's the course orientation (company job or freelance)? Company job. Does it allow you to get a company job? Probably not. That's not a pretty good result for the course.
Companies won't hire you just because you have a certification or certificate, especially an online certificate. You will need to prove that you are skilled up for the position. But in terms of getting knowledge,, the Coursera course is very informative and up to date. I'll recommend it for any entry level digital marketing aspirant

I like to focus more on Coursera, though Udemy is a great competitor and has quality courses. I have not gone though any of the Udemy ones yet - sorry!
Okey but my question is, what should people study for e commerce and digital marketing? Collages dont the them so is it really the case? I am personally studying computer science and have a considerable knowledge of digital marketing and e commerce. And Im planning to sell my digital product through shopify and gain some experience. So isnt this more valuable to the companies when Im competing for example with a MBA student?

Good questions. Colleges usually dont adapt fast enough to have a program built out like you said. Business Administration or Marketing are going to be your best bets here likely. Even though those programs aren't the most updated, there are still alot of transferrable principles (theory) that is good to learn and applies to the 21st century.
Selling your digital project is going to be the best experience. No matter if you succeed or fail, you're going to learn so much and will have a story to tell in interviews. People in general are very impressed with "entrepreneurs" because of what it takes. Don't be afraid to tell that story in the future for interviews.
The course is geared towards those who start at "0" and intended to get them to being competent in the field. If you have some experience beforehand, the first few courses inside the certificate are going to be review or covering things that you're already really familiar with.
Seems you have a marketing background because I'm currently taking the course and I can say Its loaded with information, honestly! I'm still deciding if I should go into marketing route or just settle for any social media career.
@@rinze9367 I think that you can probably find a path that does both. Exposure to social media and marketing early in your career will be valuable resume boosts, plus will give you some perspective on which you'd like to "specialize in". Don't put too much pressure on yourself to make the right choice right away! You'll learn valuable things from both along the way.

If you’re in your first year you’ll have time to figure out what you like and what you don’t. I’d encourage you to try to get an internship this summer
