I feel like keeping a turtle is only good vs the P2W decks cause of enemy bat and friendly caterpillar among other things

Tbf his strategy was more focused on early melon armour rather than specifically turtle

Unless it's leveled up. If it's not, then just forget about its effect and see as a unit with stats

In early game buy-sell is worse than an apple unless the unit has an added effect like an otter, owl, or you have a shrimp. Which is why rather than buy-selling the whole shop it’s better to roll early

keeping a giraffe and ignoring 4 penguins and chocolate when every unit is level 2 is pure egg-brain strategy.

Especially when he keeps a garbage Level 1 Spider over it. He could have had an early Parrot Ox combo which is really strong mid game.

He also keeps giving melon armors to a level 1 3/3 swan that he then keeps for the rest of the run instead of a 3/15 crab

@@fclp67 I mean he’s probably going to keep a swan anyway (which is another problem) but when he puts it on a 12/10 level 1 mosquito it’s really just anchoring him to a unit that NEEDS scaling and doesn’t benefit from it at all besides the numbers. If he kept the turtle then he could abandon a middling mosquito for something like a hippo or a rhino or even boar

Yea. Dog and Puppy both have to hit Level 2 early or the scaling isn’t good enough.

I don't think your numbers take into account buy/sell buffs, does they? e.g. otter or beaver. Obviously those are random, but it's still added value. Anyway, IMO the value of dog doesn't lie in buy/sell strats. The value is that as long as you keep 1 slot open as a flex spot, dog gets free buffs from animals you were going to buy anyway. e.g. if you've already got a swan and you're buying another one, as long as you have an open spot to buy it before combining, you get a free buff. I think going all in to make dog your biggest unit is a mistake, and you lose too much value. That's how NL always plays dog. As a secondary unit which buffs itself, it can be viable.

@@Michael-sh1fb by that logic though you could add more value to foods with rabbits and seals, so I don't think that's all that relevant and just throws off the numbers more. One for one, like you already said, not good to go all in on dog.

Leopard's ability doesn't get helped ny higher stats, and he wasn't going to sell the deer, so it really didn't matter

@@letsgetfluffy3138 The ability at lvl 2 is "Deal 50% Attack damage to 2 random enemies". It would have done 6 more attack at the start of the round, plus 6/6 stats on the animal. 11 damage and 6 health doesn't matter? Tell me you average 4 wins without telling me you average 4 wins.

@@Michael-sh1fb Oh wtf, I never use the leopard, I thought it did 50% of the enemies health, guess I can't read. I have no clue how I never realised, I thought the level 2 was deal 100% damage, idk why, wtf. Edit: I actually don't know what I thought, I am so confused. I guess I've just always rolled past it.

He says how good and fun it is but doesn’t scale it with his lvl2 monkey typical nl i didn’t expect anything less :)

I think he took it the one case where you can take it. Turn 3. If you get it that early, it can be solid mid game but you have to stop buy selling when other better units are available.

oh shit people are starting to find out how good leopards are,, i have been getting free wins by buffing leopards by level 3 blue bird in pay to win and monkey or dodo buff in free to play

Yeah I used to be a big rabbit praiser but it’s buff seems misleadingly good when you are turn 12 with a 10/34 that can’t kill anything

I’ve said it for weeks. Swan is solid but he overvalues it more than any other unit… I’ve seen him pass on Crocs, Leopards, and Snakes just to keep a Level 1 Swan.

@@robsmith5434 yep. and yet he has never even touched sauropod or goat despite them fitting into some builds better than the swan especially at level 1. like get 2 goats going and maybe a waterbuffalo,dog or fish scampi and you're off to the races. sad that he used to like the fish so much but never tried goat strats

Great buffs from a theory point of view, but the buffs are spread out and thus scale a unit too slow. What wins 2 15/15s or a 30/30 and a 1/1? The game heavily favors buffing towards a singular one or two pieces not 4 units.

Nah. When you get an early Level 2 Penguin, you can win with anything. I just had a Penguin, Beaver, Fish, Dolphin, Ox win because I got them all to Level 2 very early.

​@@robsmith5434 Sure I agree it's still a scaler. Its downside is by the average time you get it, it doesn't have enough time to scale. Without leveling the first time you can get a penguin is turn 7. Most games are over by turn 14ish that's +8/8 in buffs on each level 2+ is not much. I trust you can do the math on leveling it up and where you think its appropriate that you get it there. Compare that to its rival the monkey which can scale +18/+18 on a unit if you pull it turn 9 when you go rank 5. Obviously this isn't level 2+ units wide buff, but a +18/18 eats 3 of your penguin buffs. It's other downside is you aren't using units that actually have effects. Once you pull penguin you gotta commit to your rank 1 units that are basically do nothing except being tanks through penguin. Penguin doesn't really allow you to transition to anything. Spike a leopard turn 9? can't really run that because it isn't level 2 and my 4 other units are. But as you said if you spike it early through a level up on turn 5 its ability to grow is +9/+9 and your odds of leveling it on turn 7 are way higher. if you can spike it turn 5 and level on turn 7 you're seeing +18/18 in buffs once you finish out turn 14 which ain't bad. But just running a level 1 penguin hoping for level up ain't always the play. Most scalers aren't bad if you spike them early. You can run dog if you spike it turn 3 and have that carry you hard to the late game. Most would agree grabbing dog turn 5+ isn't great though. Penguin isn't as bad as dog, but gets outclassed in its specialty by other units.

@@lifetake3103 Well the monkey is absurdly strong and will be getting a nerf soon. The penguin is still arguably the best tier 4 in the base pack, on par with the bison.

Skunk dolphin/mosquito and leopard. Gets rid of melon, lowers the Hp, then snipes it. Use attack stat to order correctly. Bake until golden brown

Level 3 Octopus tho...

I mean you could specifically design a team to beat that build but it'd be even more unrealistic. +1 rooster at the back with 4 leopards would probably be better

Yea man! Does it do 3 shots of 50 or 6 shots of 25? Either way, doing that kinda damage before the other team can even attack is insane.

I recently had a Level 3 Leopard with a Level 3 Parrot behind it and that was insane. If you could Leopard, Parrot, and Tiger, it would instantly melt everything.

Buy both Parrot and Ox. Dominate the mid game.

Not to mention there's chance of getting 2/0 or 0/2 out of the scenario you just mentioned, so it's got a 50/50 chance of being a lopsided 4 gold apple lol
