@@hakeemgardner2161 Hi. I’m incredibly late to this but I have some advice. Do whatever you can to gain experience. Volunteer for organizations (especially non-profits in your area), intern, build projects and sell them online, freelance, build a website for a small business or a friend. You have to get creative in order to build real world experience if you are not able to get a job at first. I hope this helps.

My suggestion for newbies: You can audit the courses for free to watch videos first, labs are restricted to paying students. The reason is to make sure you can follow and understand the course content before plunking in your money. The final course on interview is end Jan.

Good video! I am enrolled in the Meta backend Cert. So far the course is really good. While watching the video you are prompted questions and you are quizzed and tested which is excellent. I already did 1 year as a self taught web development and so far taking this course it is well structured and covers a bit of the front end with learning the basics of HTML and CSS. I highly recommend this course. BUT I am a bit cynical on the ability of Meta being able to find you a job especially so with this recession. BUT I think it is an excellent way to learn about Software Development the rest is up to you to find a job. But it is an excellent starting point.
@TheRDGuarantee
@TheRDGuarantee Год назад
Hey William good feedback and sounds like you're doing great getting started. I agree with your view on the job placement. Meta is such a strong name that they likely have no problem getting partnerships from companies to help sell their course, however I don't know how much of an added advantage those partnerships actually give you. Like most things, its going to come down to your efforts and hardwork to get yourself where you want to go.

@@TheRDGuarantee Thank you. I guess what is getting me by and not giving up like I hear a lot are doing is, focusing on mild goals but at the same time not set a time for when I should land a job. @@TdainegonkeeU I would recommend figure out what you like first. It doesn't have to be web development. Try different things out and from there once you are decided. Look at your local job market if your end goal is to find a job. What do you think about the access to the Meta Job board that is supposed to be exclusively accessible upon certification?
@TheRDGuarantee
@TheRDGuarantee Год назад
Because of Meta's brand, they're able to make connections at a lot of companies. When they ask for partnerships, people will listen. However, these companies are not hiring exclusively from the Meta pool of Coursera candidates. I think its just another place that targeted positions or companies CAN tap into.

Hey, I am new to programming I started this certificate 20 days ago and I am now half way through(second week of advanced react), I learned a lot but in the same time I look on you tube for additional recourses and I realized when I was studying that I should work on my algorithm knowledge and logic process so I started practicing in code wars, I really enjoy it more than the course itself. I have to finish as much as I can from the certificate before 15 august, (my forecast: maybe course 8), and than i need to put some time to learn time and space complexity and api's , btw you forgot to mention that this certificate also teach version control (I appreciate this course more and more as I am progressing through the certificate ) and here come my question: should I do a bootcamp?

Hey Vamsimullangi, I'm not sure what you're currently working in, but even if its not something related to front-end, this course is designed to get you from "0 knowledge" to an intermediate understanding of front end. While the course may not be updated to this very month, the tools they use to teach are very current. For the price and learning experience, this course is a strong value. If you're starting from zero, I think this would be a good place to start and try to finish in 3-4 months to see how you really like being in Front-End. If you want to try the course with a 7 day free trial, you can here: rdguarantee.link/Coursera/Meta-Front-End Good luck!

Good luck on the course! This is a wide ranging question. It depends on if you live in the US and where in the US you live. Also, is the Meta Backend Certificate going to be your only experience, or do you have other projects that you've worked on. The entry-level backend developer salary is in the $94,000 - $98,000 range, but if you're coming in with less qualifications you could be getting offers in the $80,000's.
