Is The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Really That Bad? 

I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on this collection and try it. I mean it cannot be as bad as people say and really, I don’t even care what the resolution is I can’t even tell the difference between 1080 P and 720 P one is just a slightly higher resolution that’s all I see really

Its not bad, few glitches but still playable, only frustration is lack of pressure sensitive buttons on ps5 making lowering weapon and cqc interrogation tricky in mgs2 and 3 with current controller

The thing I care about is metal gear solid 3 on Pc

I wouldn't mind if it was same as the HD collection on PS3 or Xbox 360 but it's been proven to actually be a downgrade and thats the worst part... They lied saying it was 1080p and aspect ratio and colours and audio are incorrect. It just sucks! These games deserve better.

I got it physical for ps5 with all the preorder bonuses for 40 bucks and it's honestly one of the most solid collections released lately imo

It's really only for getting new people on board with the series, because true fans won't stand for this sh@t. Only valuable from a historical point of view. Great review though, cheers

Ppl are WAY too hard on this MGS collection. Idk what is with the majority of ppl these days. Maybe it's because I'm getting older idk but my god ....the focus on minute things like textures, resolution, whether a game is 30 or 60 fps ECT. Things that, IMO, don't really matter. Extremely high end graphics absolutely make a great game better, but it doesn't actually make the game great. To me it's ALWAYS about gameplay and the experience it provides. MGS snake eater is my favorite entry in the series and my favorite version of it is possibly the one with the worst visuals and game performance. I'm talking about the Nintendo 3ds port of "MGS3 snake eater ". I was so surprised when I saw the cartridge in GameStop for the first time. I couldn't believe it existed then I thought....oh god i bet it's downscaled and butchered to hell. But surprisingly, no its the ENTIRE full game and nothing was sacrificed. It's an absolute joy being able to play it on a handheld console like this. Yes the lack of a second C stick means using face buttons as a D pad for turning and aiming but it works just fine. Sure the small screen makes the camo enemies and wildlife hard to see at times. Yeah the frame rate drops when ALOT of stuff is happening at on screen at once which causes your automatic weapons to fire in an inconsistent speed like it's jammed or something 😂, but these minor flaws don't change the fact that the game is AMAZING. The 3ds port let a new generation of players experience one of the best games ever made. And now this mgs collection is gonna introduce them to a MUCH wider audience. I really hope ppl can just stop with the negativity toward every little detail and just sit back and enjoy some of best games from one of the best series of all time.

Cant play half the game on my 'deck, tried on switch, shitty sounds in mgs3 and some bug. Kind of wish better for sure.

MGS1 is only 240p in this collection and MGS2/MGS3 are 720p which makes this collection a cash grab.

ppl complaining about the master coollection with so much bonus content while buying the red dead port that is much less worth the money

I first played metal gear solid when I was 7 years old in 1998, I continued to play every single metal gear title as they released except the DS games, even survive, survive was 30$ the day it cane out so I can't say too much about how bad it was, when twin snake's came out on GameCube I was ecstatic, I wish is was included in the master collection, I've already beat all 3 main titles on the master collection and I own every title on the true release console "metal gear sold VR" mainly, I remember buying the VR game from toys r us years and years ago and it legit was it's own stand alone title and games like metal gear didnt get commercials or advertisements in America back then, games like crash badicoot and Spyro did but there was never a metal gear commercial it was just a game my dad bought for himself when I was 7 and we both ended up loving it, we played it to the Point we had stealth, the bandana the tuxedo, I've never watches an Easter egg video that told me anything I didn't discover as a 7/8 year old, then when the ps2 came out my dad bought me sons of liberty WITHOUT a memory card and I had so much fun playing the tanker section I didn't even care, 2 weeks later he got me a yellow rubber coated heavy duty Memory card and I embarked on my msg2 son's of liberty journey, one of my favorite games to date, the only issue I'm seeing with the ps2 titles is the sensitivity on certain buttons, line pushing the sticks slower to to walk slower over areas that make noise when when you walk too fast ect, other than that I've played every game in the master series for 100s of hours and can't tell a difference. Well worth my 60$ the better option would be buying a gaming pc which will cost alot more than that, or buying an original ps1 or 2 along with the physical game and memory cards, controllers ect, I think this is the best version of every ps1-ps2 metal gear game and to top it off you can play it hand-held, amazing never imagined this day as a child, love it, highly recommend anyone who loves the series to make the purchase, plus you get the master book for each game and the animated comic series for sold and sons of liberty, so much content on release and who knows maybe more will be added?

Its not bad at all. Just spoiled brats today cant deal with a few glitches here and there, which have been fixed. I remember back in the day people didn't give a crap as long as they could play the game.look at gta san andreas. Soooo many glitches but people still loved the game. But this collection is perfect.

No it’s not bad really. But it’s definitely NOT worth $60.
