I wish they would go ahead and take the big schools off on their own. I've been a Longhorn fan since the early 60's. I pretty much lost interest in "big time" college football. I keep my eye on teams like Coastal Carolina. They are just more fun to watch. The rest of this stuff is nonsense with regards to the sport. The Longhorns made their bed when they established the Longhorn Network and chased Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas A&M away.

Since the Stoops era, OU has went 3-1 vs Alabama, beat Tennessee twice, split with Florida, beat Auburn, beat Arkansas, went to OT with Georgia, beat Missouri and A&M 5 million times, and Saban can't coach forever. The Sooners will be good. Might as well have the money too...

You guys really need to get over it. You guys have done nothing but wine for ten months now. You guys didn't act like this when Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas A&M left but when OU and Texas leave you guys have a cow. I realize OU and Texas are the bread and butter of the Big 12 but (not to sound cold) that is not OU's or Texas's problem. They have every right to leave just like the other four schools did and you guys need to move on and focus on the future with the additions of the four schools you just added which should keep it a power 5 conference. If Baylor or any of the other schools had a chance to join the SEC they would do it in a heartbeat and you know it. So please stop crying about it and move on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

As a TCU fan, it was really fun being in the Mountain West and winning 11,12,13 games a year. I realize the school has way more money and that money has likely lifted other sports, but for me I've lost a lot of interest. Granted the team has been mediocre, Gary Patterson was fired... The Frogs could have won 2 more games a year the last 5 years and I'm pretty sure I would feel the same way.

Thinking OU or Texas can't be a top dog in the SEC is absurd. Maybe not in the first few years while they rebuild and adjust but I hear this assumption so much that it makes me think the people who say it "wish" this will happen so they can feel better about themselves. They will improve recruiting, adjust and compete. We get it.. you're happy they're leaving, but they will be fine.

I remember the old SWC days and I had no problem with Texas winning it 60% of the time. I never got bored with the competition because some of those opponents were good - Arkansas, Houston, A&M were often good teams. How happy is Arkansas being a .500 or worse team in the SEC as opposed to being a constant title contender in the SWC? As a fan, that's not a fun trade-off. I understand money, recruiting, etc. But Arkansas, A&M, Missouri, now Texas and OU, are just kidding themselves if they think they'll win consistently in the SEC with Bama, LSU, Florida and Georgia. I'm not sure the Sooner and Longhorn fans will accept being a .500 team against better competition.

As a Texas fan, I suspect we will do fine athletically in the SEC, even in football. Everyone seems to forget how cyclical college football is. The fans will see more competitive games, but also extra losses too. The “brand” was built on decades of dominance. This will take a hit. And the passion for college football is built on regional rivalries. This will show up as a loss of fan interest overall. There’s pros and cons to all this, but it won’t be divided evenly. The extra money may be worth it, at least for the Universities. However, the fans won’t see a dime of that extra money……..

I disagree on the fan loss theory on regional rivalry. Just for OU, Norman is just as close to Fayetteville, baton Rouge or Oxford than it is to aimes or Manhattan ks.... hell there's alot of sooner fans in Fayetteville. These new rivalries / regional games won't affect a single fan for OU

I don't think OU is going to miss playing KU, KSU, ISU, TT and TCU much. There is no rivalry, passion, with those teams. It's lopsided with OSU but OK, in state and all, still get to play biggest rival UT and they'll get to renew with UM and pick up a new one with Arkansas. There will be more losses but nobody in the SEC is going to make a living beating OU consistently. This fan has been sick of the Big 12 for more than a few years and am delighted to get out for a new adventure.

1st of all you guys are drama. 2nd of all we are not Lincoln Riley, we're not running from competition. 3rd the SEC has done a much better job managing their conference. The big 12 has not had 12 teams in over 10 years exclamation The big 12 was doing nothing to help when games were being aired.
