Thank you! I'm planning on uploading videos where I'm sketching in my sketchbook more regularly. I'm trying to plan out a balance of easier videos and more involved ones and I know pencil sketch videos would be very relaxing to watch!

Thank you! I agree! It's more than worth the price considering the products inside, not to mention all the artwork that comes with it, but it's a lot of money. Maybe buy three primary colors and a black and white if you like the look of these paints!

Yes! The Holbein Acryla gouache paints are a hybrid between acrylics and gouache paints. Gouache paints can be reactivated the way watercolors can be, but they have opacity to them, meaning you can create very full bodied paintings that look similar to acrylics. Acrylic paints can't be reactivated once they've dried, which means you have to work fast when you're painting and blending (or have to buy a retarding medium to slow down the drying process). These acryla gouache paints can't be reactivated once dry, but they have the same consistency and drying time of regular gouache. They're beneficial for instances like how in this video, I painted the gold chain over the dark green turtleneck, or the green stems over the black background. With regular gouache, it would be hard to get that same bright color over a dark color since the wet paint would reactivate the dark color underneath. But depending on your workflow, you might just want regular gouache if you want the ability to reactivate the colors you already placed on the paper, like maybe you paint slower or want a super seamless gradient and blend and wouldn't be able to achieve that with a non reactivatable paint. So many things to consider, but you know your own workflow! Good luck :-)

I really like to try out new media, but I work with gouache now just for half a year, so maybe I really keep practicing with gouache before I go on and try acrylic gouache. Love how it seems to be easier to paint flat layers without reactivating the other layers, im pretty curious about it :D

I think it is! I didn't realize there were two editions until I went to put the link in my bio; I got this kit in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I think the second edition is relatively new!

@@SaraTepes thanks for the quick reply! It's just interesting because when I click on the link in your RU-vid description it shows both the first and second editions with the discount. But when I actually click to go to product page, the second one ends up full price. Perhaps it's just a website error! Nevertheless they both have the charm and quality as a kit! I'd be happy to have either :)
