Is the name of God pronounced Yehovah?

Is the Tegragrammaton (יהוה / YHWH or YHVH) originally pronounced "Yehovah?" Or is there evidence to suggest that this was "not" the original pronunciation.
In this video we will be examining how the vowel "o" is written in Masoretic Hebrew text and in the Dead Sea Scrolls, which will provide us some clues on this debate.
Just as is the case with many of the mysteries of the pronunciation of the name YHWH, and many other Hebrew words, it comes down to interpretation of evidence and only when we find Moses' tape recorder will all of these questions be answered.

This channel has been very enlightening to the deeper meanings of Hebrew words. It's so nice to feel a bit of the essence of the language instead of just tying English definitions to their words. I'm slowly watching my way through most of your videos and learning a ton along the way. Thanks for all the work you put into this.

@@watermeloninsummer103 The Yehovah deception is the reinventing of a misnomer. Jehovah is a euphonious name. Yehovah or Jehovah are hybrid counterfeit names for God. “In the early Middle Ages, when the consonantal text of the Bible was supplied with vowel points to facilitate its correct traditional reading, the vowel points for Adonai with the variation - a sheva (short ‘e’) with the first Yod [Y] of YHWH instead of the hataf-patah (short ‘a’) under the aleph of Adonai - was used for YHWH, thus producing the form YeHoWaH. When Christian scholars of Europe first began to study Hebrew they did not understand what this meant, and they introduced the hybrid name ‘Iehovah’, later ‘Jehovah’” (Encyclopedia Judaica, Vol. 7, p. 680). “Jehovah…What has been said explains…the consonants of Jehovah are always accompanied in the Hebrew text by the vowels of Adonai except in the cases in which Adonai stands in apposition to YHWH [the Tetragrammaton]: in these cases, the vowels of Elohim [or Eloah] are substituted. The use of a simple shewa (Hebrew vowel for ‘e’) in the first syllable of Jehovah, instead of the compound shewa in the corresponding syllable of Adonai and Elohim [0r Eloah], is required by the rules of Hebrew grammar governing the use of Shewa” (The Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. VIII, p. 329). “The reading ‘Jehovah’ can be traced to the early Middle Ages and until lately was said to have been invented by Peter Gallatin [1518], confessor to Pope Leo X. Recent writers, however, trace it to an earlier date; it is found in Raymond Martini’s ‘Pugeo Fidei’ [1270]” (Encyclopedia Americana, Vol. 16, p. 8). Apparently, Peter Gallatin’s source for the erroneous name Jehovah was the book by Raymond Martini, ‘Pugeo Fidei’, in which Peter plagiarized. While studying the Hebrew Scriptures, the Dominican scholar monk Raymond Martini noticed the vowel points on the Tetragrammaton, the four consonant letters that make up the name of God, YHWH. He did not know of the Jewish practice of adding vowels from another Hebrew word to remind the readers in the synagogues not to say the name [HaShem] but to say, “Adonai,” instead. The first letter of God’s revealed name is Y, which corresponds to the Hebrew letter Yod. The second letter is a vowel of ‘a’, not ‘e’, called Qamets in Hebrew. The third letter is ‘H’, and corresponds to the Hebrew letter ‘H’, which spells YAH, and this means, “I AM.” Halleluyah means “Praise YAH!” The first syllable of God’s revealed name is YAH. “The saying of God, [‘HaYAH Ashar HaYAH’] ‘I AM Who I AM’ is surely connected with His name…YAH (Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. 5, p. 743, 1967). The Jewish practice of adding vowels points to the Tetragrammaton (the four consonant letters of God’s Actual name YHWH) into the Hebrew Bible vowels borrowed from other words, such as Adonai, which caused YAHWAIH, and later modified to Yahweh. The vowels of Eloah added to YHVH caused the false name Yehovah, or Jehovah. The vowels of Elohim caused Yehovih (see Strong’s Dictionary of Bible Words #3069). Je-hovah, as with hovah means ruin, mischief, and calamity (see Strong’s #1942, #1943). All these false and idolatrous names: Yehovih, Yehovah, and Jehovah are counterfeits. The essential name of salvation is YAH according to the Prophet, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV). "I AM" is YAH, and “this is the name which is above every name.” Christ told the people that He is YAH (John 8:58). Moses asked God for His name, and He said, “HaYAH Ashar HaYAH”, that is “I AM Who I AM”, and “I AM” is the name “YAH” (Exodus 3:14). We should know His revealed name YAH, and Praise YAH, and rightly so, “Halleluyah!” Language of any kind conforms to the revelation of God, not God’s revelation conforming to languages. The Apostle Paul on the road to Damascus was confronted by the Lord, and he asked, “Who are You Lord,” and the LORD answered in Hebrew, “I am YAHSHUA…” (Acts 26:12-15). Our Lord and Savior has “the name which is above every name.” The Apostle Paul gives testimony to that very fact: “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA, every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Every tongue, and language, is to know this only revealed name for our very salvation, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). How do we know that we know the Lord? Answer: When we hold to His revelations and commandments, or if not, we shall be cast out as being of lawlessness. The Lord said, in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” This will be the excuse of many who justify the counterfeit name of Jesus! What happens if I reject the name YAHSHUA for the counterfeit name Jesus? “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. ‘He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God’” (John 3:16-18). Answer: If you do not believe in the name YAHSHUA, the name of the only begotten Son of God, you will stand condemned! Please, please, repent and believe in the name of our only Lord and Savior YAHSHUA! Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA! To the Glory of God our Father. Amen.

Just so you know, "Yah" is a poetical form for God's Name. Nehemiah Gordon said it's like calling someone named Michael Mike. If in doubt, just spell it out! The Great Yod - Hey - Vav - Hey. You don't need a tape recorder to know that VAV has always been a "V" sound (I refer to Nehemiah Gordon's research.)

This question troubled me for years when I found out that some claim that it was pronounced this way or that. others said the correct pronunciation was hidden so that his name would not be taken in vain. This to me was contradictory to scripture that states His name is to be Glorified in all the earth. It became personal to me because if i was to know God, how could i say I know God if I don't even know His Name. If you do research to find this answer as Jeff Benner said at the end we may never know unless we find Moses "tape recorder". But I suggest to you that if you believe God is a personal God with whom we may talk to and communicate with, then just ask Him and he will answer. God made this possible though Jesus/Yeshuah. Now we may boldly come before the throne of God to make our request known to God our father to find grace in time of need. So I asked God what His name was, and He answered me. In two dreams in the Language that I could understand and in no uncertain terms. If you want to know Just ask. He will let you know in a way you can understand and in no uncertain terms. If were to tell you, it would only be head knowledge, and you wouldn't believe me. If He tells you it would be a personal and intimate experience that you could say I know that I know that God has revealed this to me and no one can take that away.

Larry Brandon II ask Him. He'll tell you. No need to ask OP. (The point of his comment!) Thing is, I once followed what the old bible translators said (Jehovah), then what many modern scholars say (Yahweh), then what various Hebrew roots Filis say (Yahuah)... then I found myself confused, so (to OP's point) prayed and searched out the Hebrew Scriptures. He will "teach you all things" (1JN 5) as He promised. YEHOVAH is faithful to answer our prayers over His word. Btw, take it FWIW, Im convinced that YEHOVAH is correct, but also convinced that JEHOVAH is likewise correct: the thing is, the "J" used to be pronounced as a softer sound, more like a Y (as it is in Spanish, French, etc... to this day) Btw, fun fact: the Tyndale and Authorised KJ Bible originally printed it as "Iehouah" , likewise Jesus as "Iesus" : the J was not invented by the KJV translators to mangle His name (as some try to suggest) but for another reason: it was used for Latin numbering when three or four "I's" were conjoined (to express the number three or four). In this instance, the "J" was just read as another "I" but was drawn with a tail to visually set it apart from the standard I character. This made it easier to count the number of I's. That said, I don't trip when people pronounce His Name as the classic Jehovah, like Jehovah Jireh 💪 "Trust ye in YEHOVAH for ever: for in YAH YEHOVAH is everlasting strength" "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

I will respectfully point out that Mr. Gordon did an awful lot of research in not only ancient Masoretic Manuscripts themselves but rabbinical sources as well to confirm his conclusions. He found out that the pronunciation was preserved among learned Jewish men and even found it documented in writing which was never meant to be shared outside that community. He also did research on how the various Jewish communities pronounced the Vav and found out that only a few isolated communities within the Arab world pronounced it like the Arabic waw. The thing is that Gordon is a scholar who doesn't like to shoot from the hip so he does his homework. Oh, and I've been digging through some of those old manuscripts myself. I also hold that teaching God's character is more important than how his name is pronounced, however, I don't minimize how important it is to know. Otherwise one could find one self incoking the wrong God.

You will not find the "v" sound for the "waw" in any ancient abjad semitic languages, like Aramaic, which was spoken by Jacob for instance. Deuteronomy 26 explains him as a "a wandering Aramean." The only language you find this "VAV" is modern" Hebrew. That speaks volumes to this subject. Classes teaching Biblical Hebrew in the Hebrew University and universities across the planet explain this, it's common knowledge. I have spoken to a few professors from the Hebrew University and they all will freely admit the "VAV" is a late rendition and was originally a "WAW." I learned this is my second class of Biblical Hebrew. If scholars "shot from the hip" then Biblical Hebrew classes would teach the "WAW" as a "VAV." I find it rather interesting that NG's professor and mentor (and person that gave him his "small part" in the Dead Sea Scrolls as NG puts it in his radio program) "Emmanuel Tov" (an actual Dead Sea Scroll Scholar) when asked about the name Yehovah, discredited it's plausibility. He surprisingly responded by telling us to inquire a "Hebrew linguist" as this was not his expertise. When we inquired at numerous universities from Cambridge to the Hebrew University, they all told us to contact Stephen Fassberg (a major contributor to the Encyclopedia Judaica) at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Here is his response regarding Yehovah... He states, “The pronunciation you mentioned [i.e., Yehovah] is a mistake. The Hebrew consonantal text is YHWH and no one really knows how that was pronounced in Old Testament times. At a later date (the latter half of the 2nd millennium CE) Masoretes added vowel signs to the consonantal text. Whenever the Tetragrammaton was written, they added the vowel signs of the word ‘Adonay,’ which means ‘My Lord’ - there was a taboo on pronouncing the Divine name and one was supposed to read the word ‘Adonay - my Lord.’ Much later some started reading the vowel signs together with YHWH and came up with the nonsensical word Jehovah" Regarding the Waw he explained: “There is no doubt that the original sound was w and not v. Sometime during the history of the Hebrew language there was a shift from w > v in pronunciation, probably already during the Mishnaic Period” (email correspondence). NG is out of his league and does not have the credentials, study, nor experience in the field of Hebrew linguistics. The above video clearly demonstrates this. His education is in Biblical studies. I believe this is merely junk scholarship returning to the errors of early Vatican scholars that made up this name as a result of ignorance. Now we have a new era returning to the same nonsense by NG to sell books and create chaos.

I come from Kerala, a southern State in India where Thomas arrived in about AD 50. He was well received by the locals and was able to establish 7 churches. One church is near my hometown and is recognised as a heritage site by Government of India. I attend a church called "Mar Thoma" Church. In fact Kerala is a tourist attraction and has been designated as "God's own Country". The fact that Thomas came to Kerala is irrefutable by the effect he had on the people in Kerala. The name 'Thomas' is one of the most common names used amongst christians. My grandfather was 'Thomas'. Apart from that Christianity had a lot of influence from the Jewish community who were welcomed in my State. So we claim to be amongst the oldest Christians in the World, where the Bible both and new testament was well preserved and passed on from one generation to another. In the Malayalam Bible - the name for YHVH is pronounced "Yehovah" and the name of 'Jesus' is pronounced "Yesu". I believe both these names are what was used by the early Christians. We have not substituted God's name as 'Adonai' or 'Elohim' or "Hashem - the name". All our scriptures and the songs and hymns we sing record these names as "Yehovah" and "Yesu". Our God has a name and we should do our due diligence to find out all about it and come to our own peace about it. But please do not fall into the trap of camouflaging his name and calling all sort of weird names such as Yahweh and Jehovah. The letters J and W does not appear as an alphabet in the Latin, Hebrew or Greek Language. As a matter of fact, the letter "J" was introduced in English during the late Middle Ages. In earlier Old English texts, the letter "J" did not exist as a separate letter Names are never customised or localised according to a region of a country. King Charles would never be addressed as King Carlos in Spain ! He would retain his name in Chinese, Korean or Italian. Why was God's name substituted with strange names? Nobody seems to know. It would appear as 'mother of all conspiracies" !! Please do your own due diligence. Praying to the wrong God or using a strange name has consequences. Exodus 3:15: God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, 'YeHoVaH, the God of your fathers-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob has sent me to you. ' “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.

I've always thought that the vowels to the first part of The Tertragrammaton were preserved in the aforementioned biblical names, which is why the scholarly Yahweh version made little sense to me. However, the information regarding the waw/vav that you have shared is very interesting, as that may indicate that divine name might have been pronounced Yehoah back in the day. ✨HalleluYAH!✨There was no letter “j” in the Hebrew, Latin, or Greek alphabet and was not fully adopted to the English language alphabet until the 16th or 17th centuries . In 1611, the original print of KJV, the word that people use now as Jesus was spelled IESOUS or IESUS, etc., which means in the Greek and Latin language “My Savior Zeus”, showing that even in KJV during the 1600’s the “j” was not prevalent!! In the Webster’s Dictionary you can read the definition and history of the letter “j” usage in the English language. This is just in addition to your thoughts and studies. I really like and appreciate your comments......! Especially your mention of NOT praying to God and Lord! You did a very good, level-headed approach to the subject, and I appreciate it. I had not heard of the cholem used like that in the Dead Sea Scrolls, so that's very interesting. The Masorites had no contact with the Dead Sea Scrolls, so I don't think you can say they dropped the vav and used the cholem instead based on those scrolls. They didn't know what was in those scrolls. Now, maybe if you found other common sources using the vav like that and known to the Masorites, it might carry more weight. Still, a very interesting point. Thanks for raising it, and thanks for sharing that you got Nehemia's thoughts on it, plus the other words that didn't fit the mold. You could have used this concept as a proof text and you didn't take that road. Thanks for that, too. "Vav" or "waw" could literally be dialect, and I don't think that someone's accent affects the Name. I don't see it as a deal-breaker for either set of vowels debated. I hear some Jews use either pronunciation in regular speech, so that really just seems more of a regional custom of whether the sound is a hard or soft one.

I solved the pronunciation problem by asking God how he would like me to pronounce His wonderful name. During a heartfelt time of worship I spoke the various pronunciations and I instantly felt His GREAT pleasure upon one certain pronunciation of his name. Even years later I still feel his pleasure when I say His name this way. I would encourage each person to deeply search out God, worship Him, and let him reveal the truth to you. I debated whether to write down the pronunciation, but I felt the Lord say yes write it. YAH- HO- WAH THE THREE SYLLABLES FLOW SMOOTHLY ONE TO ANOTHER. @@staceyshine247 Does the letter 'j' exist in the Hebrew alphabet? The Letter "J" in the Hebrew Alphabet: The spelling of ancient Mediterranean languages was a reflection of the way they were actually pronounced, which meant it was phonetic in character. An interesting example of this is provided in the plays of the Greek comic writer Aristophanes, who sometimes represents the accents of Greeks from different regions by spelling their lines differently. The same idea was used in modern times by Mark Twain, who spelled his characters' dialogue to reflect their particular dialects. Answer and Explanation: As neither of the sounds represented by "j" in English or in French is found in Hebrew, the alphabet has no need for a corresponding letter. It does have the yod, which may be used either at the beginning of words or in the middle and is comparable to the Latin "i" from which the j eventually developed. There is, however, a modern adaptation to allow for foreign words (like the name"John", or words from Arabic which does have this sound) to be spelled in Hebrew; this is an apostrophe placed after the letter gimel, which is normally a hard "g" sound, to turn it into a "j".

Does the letter 'j' exist in the Hebrew alphabet? What I liked the most is the ending "...the pronunciation of the name YHWH, and many other Hebrew words, it comes down to interpretation of evidence...", I do believe we need to believe in evidence and Nehemia and Jeff have their conclusions based in their own evidence study, and for me both are valid, making it a professional discussion with relevant base. Anyways, it won't be important to know for sure the exact pronunciation if our life doesn't reflect YHVH's character.

I believe the Name must be pronounced YeHoVaH, with the vowels Sheva, Cholam and Kamatz. My reason is that this pronunciation has 3 syllables, not two. Further, there are seven letters (considering the nikkud to be “letters”). In English the Name will have 7 letters instead of 6. The KJV has JEHOVAH in caps 4 times, and 3 compound names Jehovah-jireh, Jehovah-nissi, Jehovah-shalom, corresponding to 4 Hebrew alphabet and 3 Hebrew vowels. The Gematria value of the name with the vowels is 72, which is also the same for חסד (Chesed, Grace).

Very informative thank you. I am one of Jehovah's witnesses. We pronounce the name Jehovah in Latinised English as we do John, Jesus and Jeremiah. However in other countries, our Christian btothers and sisters pronounce according to their language, much as God granted at Pentecost, in Acts 2, each to communicate in their own language. But as you rightly say the description of Gods personality is key.

The V sound did not exist until the 9th century when Jews were influenced by western European languages such as German. W (Wah) is the proper way. YAHWEH, not Yehovah. Yehovah is a made up name and pronunciation. Same with Jehovah. There was no letter J until the late 1600's.

If as Nehemiah Gordon claims the pronouncation of the Tetragrammaton is Ye-ho-vah then the early English translation of Jehovah would have been correct because the early English J had the sound of the Hebrew Yod when it was first invented.....maybe the translators who popularized the pronouncation of Jehovah starting in the 16th century like William Tyndale and translators of the Geneva and King James Bibles knew a little something.

The Calculations of YeHoVaH God’s Divine Name is written in Hebrew as YHVH ( Yod Heh Vav Heh). YeHoVaH (English translation is Jehovah) is 7 letters long. Based on a=1, b=2, c=3 etc. the 3 vowels added to YHVH, e, o & a calculate to 5+15+1=21 21=7x3 or 7+7+7. YHVH =25+8+22+8 which calculates to 63. 63 =21x3 or (7+7+7)x3 or 7x3x3 or 7+7+7 + 7+7+7 + 7+7+7 YeHoVaH=Y/25 +e/5+ H/8+o/15+V/22+a/1+H/8which calculates to 84. 84=21x4 or (7+7+7)x4 or 7x12 or 7+7+7 + 7+7+7 + 7+7+7 + 7+7+7 Note that the vowels e, o and a are the first letters of Eternal, Omega and Alpha. The Calculations of Yahweh God’s Divine Name in Hebrew is changed from YHVH to YHWH (Yod Heh Waw Heh). Note the 3 changes of 6 they needed to create Yahweh from YHVH. Change God’s name to 6 letters long. The 6th Hebrew letter is changed from V to W The 2 vowels a & e calculate to 1+5=6 6 6 6! WEH was added to God’s Name YAH. The 6th Hebrew letter is changed from V to W WEH=23+5+8 which calculates to 36=6x6 = 6+6+6 + 6+6+6 6 6 6! YHWH =25+8+23+8 which calculates to 64. 64=2x32 or 4x16 or 4x4x4 or 8x8. 64 is not divisible by 7 or 21 (7+7+7) unlike YHVH. Yahweh=25+1+8+23+5+8 which calculates to 70. 70=2x35, 5x14, 7x10. 70 is not divisible by 21 (7+7+7) unlike YeHoVaH. Note how 70 = 7 heads x 10 horns (Rev 13:1 The Beast with the blasphemous name) When 6, the number of man (Rev 13:18) is used as the Code Key (a=6, b=12, etc), YHWH BEAST calculates to 666! Yahweh does not include the letter o for Omega. The Jerusalem Bible introduced Yahweh in 1966 and since then, most Bibles replaced Jehovah with Yahweh. Jeremiah 23:27 (NKJV) 27 who try to make My people forget My name by their dreams which everyone tells his neighbor, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.

The Ceator's name have three vowels The Ya Ha and Wa that's why there are so many translations these three vowels changes if they are in the middle of a word the Ya becomes a long A sound like day or way for an example God in Hebrew is אלה'ם Ala-aym The Ha is silent because it's in the middle of the word so you don't pronounce it the Wa becomes a long O sound if it's in the middle of a word like I said before So with that being said the Creator's name is YA'OH the ancient greerk tetragrammaton uses Iota-Alpha-Omega or iao so they knew that the H or Ha was silent And the VaV, W, UaU or Wa was a long O sound like in Shalom

I am at home tonight doing Hebrew and Greek scripture studies because I want to know The One true God. I asked God for His Spirit to teach me the Truth of Himself. And when I came to Exodus 3:14 in Hebrew and saw the Name “YHVH” and the trans literal pronunciation “Yehovah”, I began to hear that Name sound in my heart. The Named began to burn in my heart like a Fire of Unlimited Power, and my chest began to burn so bad I became instantly terrified of Power in that Name, so much so I cried out “abba!”(Daddy) for Mercy and for Fear of the Name. Then I heard a voice in my heart say “That is My Name. That is My Name. That is my Name. Be careful using my Name. Do not be afraid. You have not blasphemed My Name.” I became so terrified of the sheer unlimited Power of the Name that I called Yehoshuah to save me from Yehovah. And instantly I had Peace and calm with Yehovah. Yehoshuah (Iesous or Jesus) is the name that saves me from the wrath of Yehovah. Without Yehoshuah, I would be destroyed by the raw Holy Power of the Fire of Yehovah. There is too much Power in Yehovah than can be contained or survived without Yehoshuah. We need Yehoshuah to save us from Yehovah. Gods Salvation is Jesus Gods Son, His own Grace and Mercy to protect us from The Pure Unlimited Power of His Holiness and Wrath.

Yehoshuha DOES save us from the wrath of Yehovah on sin and the one who does not accept Yehovah's perfect sacrifice for sin in His Son, Yehoshuah, the wrath of Yehovah abides on him. I thought your experience with saying the Name of Yehovah to be interesting for I found that I, too, was very uncomfortable with saying the Name of Yehovah if I was living in a sinful way. The purity and holiness of His Name and character was so convicting that if I was harboring iniquity in my heart, I had to repent and ask for forgiveness and cleansing before using His Name. He is of purer eyes than to behold iniquity. I found that His Name is a great deterrent to evil. A holy fear of Yehovah is a good thing for it causes us to depart from evil.

I’d like to share , as a witness , what I’ve seen and heard happen to we who started believing and calling on the zzz name of God as YahWeh and his son Yahshua . All the men that had this platform as teachers of Gods word . Nothing but Horrible tragedies in their lives . Some lost their belief in Christ , and ignorantly turned back to The Mosaic Law for their redemption . Some even started questioning if Paul was really a spy and so that would truly make one vulnerable to the poison coming from the Hebrew Roots Movement . We all love our Father and zHis Son sooo much . We wanted to be certain we were coming completely out of Babylon . I started doing my research . After seeing this happening within the Body . The Hebrew Roots Movement is owned and operated basically by an organization that is Wolf in sheeps clothing . It was only Jewish Tradition . Wars and verbal dissections resulted from the Body of Christ . The Oneness was gone . The Holy Spirits Job , which is to remind us of All the Messiah Spoke . Was now in question . I saw the Assemblies crumble under the weight of the Name . And most fell away from listening to the Good Shepherd and doing what He Said . Love one Another as I have loved you . I earnestly went to the Father in my prayer closet and asked what is happening ? I was Told that the Name YahWeh is Not His Name . This Name actually summons demons to see you . To devour you . The Solid Rock is no more for most . Works became the order of the day . Confusion set in . The Good News became a burden to most because of all this confusion . And I saw the assemblies turn on one another . Just exactly what Satan wants . He wants us to question the Very Word of God , the son of God , by doubt and disbelief . And it ALL started with when we were told by the Hebrew Roots Organization . Who are basically unsaved Jews . And Are at this moment blinded to the truth . To Follow THEM . And it’s done in half - truths . But we all have the Holy Spirit . When I started praying to be wise as the serpent but gentle as a dove . My spiritual eyes were opened to the Evil intentions behind this movement . This is when I became severely attacked . When I spoke of what I heard and the Vivid dreams to warn my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ . So , we must all study to show ourselves approved . And ask God to show For Spiritual discernment . For we war not with Flesh and Blood . The Battle is Spirit because God is Spirit . And we are His born again children , by His own spirit . He loves Us . And wants us to come to Him . To seek , ask , never stop knocking . Stay spiritually awake . Because as He warned us by the Spirit of truth . The Devil is seeking whom He may devour . And man must live / believe by EVERY WORD from the Mouth of EL .. The Name is Important. But why ask unbelieving Jews . Who reject the Messiah . We are Not to Follow them . They Don’t know the Way .. not yet . If Satan can get us believers not to trust Gods Holy Word . That can only be found in the Bible . We are targets and our shield of faith is down . I went through this , as many have and are now trying to warn the our Brothers . Beware the falling in the Snare of the Devil - the pit . TRUTH is LOVE .

Since the writers of the Dead Sea scrolls didn't write the vowels is it possible that they did the same? If so, then maybe they pronounced it as if there were a kholem after the first ה, making it Yehovah. But that also opens up the possibility of many other combinations.

Jeff, good presentation. First, the Creator's name is ELHYM, Gen 1:1/ Next, ELHYM is male and female, Gen 1:27. The male's name is Yehovah Elohym (not just Yehovah/Yahweh), Gen 2:4 and the female's name is Ruach Elohym, Gen 1:2. The Supreme Being is ELHYM. Inside the one ELHYM are two individuals, Ruach Elohym and Yehovah Elohym; notice that They both have the same last name? The breakdown of the name is ELH = base = noun, goddess, feminine, singular YM = suffix = masculine, plural Before you used to teach the base was EL. Now it sounds you might go with ELVH (Eloah)? Both of these are masculine "god" and if that were the case then a masculine base and a masculine suffix would be a plural masculine which Elohym is not as the verbs used with this name are singular.

Yahweh really is the best contender for the name of God. We know this because of the word 'mot' meaning death. Mot in old Hebrew was pronounced 'mawet'; mawet became 'mawt' then contracted to 'mot'. We see the name of God is pronounced as 'Yo' in names like Joshua (YHWH is salvation). Scholars think the same transformation occurred with His name; 'Yo' was previously Yahw which previously was Yahwe. Additionally, His name appears as 'Yahu' in some Hebrew names. Yahu might be the irrealis mood form of Yahweh. There are word pairs in the Hebrew Bible that exemplify this, using the same vowels as Yahweh and Yahu. Also, we see the words 'yihyeh' and 'ehyeh' having a short /e/ vowel at the end like Yahweh. These two words come from the same root as YHWH; the root 'huwa' which means 'he is' in ancient Hebrew and Aramaic. There is undoubtedly much better evidence that Yahweh is the correct form of YHWH than Jehovah. It has been well established that jehovah contains the vowels of 'adonai' the Hebrew for lord or master.

While this is an interesting view, I believe YeHoVaH is the best we have today, for when we consider how the YH has been incorporated in many Hebrew names such as: YeHoNaTaN, YeHoSHuaH and YeHoSHaPHaT just to name a few, it seems more likely. On the matter of the importance of the name vs character, I don't see the need to elevate one above the other, but rather both are equally important, since being able to differentiate YeHoVaH from other gods particularly in conversation with others of a different persuasion. The characteristics which YeHoVaH exhibit would easily usurped by others. Additionally in the Christian religion it is said, " by no other name can one be saved except through jesus", how would someone who does not believe in jesus convey an alternate message, by saying I don't know the name of my god, but here are his attributes. Knowing the name or at least having some idea of the pronunciation of the name and believing sincerely, with the knowledge you have, is just as important as knowing the character of your god. Also, let me add I think it is arrogant on our part to presume to tell a people how to speak their own language, and there is a misconception that the Jews do not know how to pronounce the name of their god. The information I have say they do, however the religious authority over time through repetition as inculcated in most of the population the idea that pronouncing the name is forbidden. In fact all Jewish sources I have encountered give the same explanation of the name as being a combination of the three forms of the Hebrew word HYH (HaYaH) which mean he exist/he was. The three forms are the perfect tense HaYaH (he was), the participle HoVeH (he is) and YiHYeH (he will be). In fact these three forms are used in Rev 1:8. The name is intended to convey the ideas that no matter what difficulties you are going through YeHoVaH ,he who was, who is and who will be through a covenant with him, is always with you, but more specifically with Israel throughout their generation (see Exo 3:11-15) The continued existence of the nation of Israel is a sign to the nations of the existence of God (YehoVaH)

@@speedoggyThe Yehovah deception is the reinventing of a misnomer. Amen.

LANGUAGE DOESN’T MATTER AS MUCH AS SOME ARE PUTTING THE EMPHASIS ON WE EXIST IN A WORLD THAT WAS PUT INTO PLACE BY A CREATOR THAT CANNOT AND WILL NOT DENY HIMSELF THEREFORE, WHEN ANYONE SEEKS TO FIND HIM BY MEANS OF HIS WORD THE ASSURANCE IS: “so that they would seek God, if they might grope for him and really find him, although, in fact, he is not far off from each one of us.” Acts 17:27 THIS IS BECAUSE THE HOLY SCRIPTURES ARE MORE THAN ABUNDANT IN THE EARTH BEYOND ALL OF THIS IS THE FACT THAT GOD HIMSELF IS THE ONE THAT DIVIDED HUMAN LANGUAGE THEREFORE IT IS BY MEANS OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT THAT HE GIVES TO THOSE MAKING UP HIS TRUE WORSHIPERS TODAY - TO BECOME THE ONES FULFILLING PROPHECY WITH RESPECTS TO HIS GREAT AND HOLY NAME: “For then I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, So that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, To serve him shoulder to shoulder.’” Zephaniah 3:9 “For that reason my people will know my name; For that reason they will know in that day that I am the One speaking. When we consider Bible prophecy along with the way God feels about his own name it becomes clear that he is causing the correct way to address him by name by the people of his own chosen to be manifested. For He himself said: Exodus 3:15 “Then God said once more to Moses: “This is what you are to say to the Israelite, ‘Jehovah the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” Such a statement would be disingenuous to say the least if mankind would never be able to make use of his name. When it comes to the gods of the nations Satan the Devil went through great length to make sure the world would violate a commandment given at “Exodus 23:13 “You must be careful to do all that I have said to you, and you must not mention the names of other gods; they should not be heard on your lips.” Today we find that every planet except Earth is named after a false god. Likewise, every month of the year along with every day of the week are all named after false gods. To think that the Creator whose name appears over 7,000 times in scriptures is going to leave us without a way to call on him in an accurate manner would be to undermine the power of his God ship. The scriptures are clear on this fact when it says: Acts 2:21 “And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” Compare Joel 2:32 with Romans 10:13. This becomes especially so since God foretells how everything will turn out to fulfill his purpose in the first place: Isaiah 65:1 “I have let myself be searched for by those who did not ask for me; I have let myself be found by those who did not look for me. I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that was not calling on my name.” Simply put, this meant that the gentiles would be the ones taking the lead in carrying out teaching all the meaning of the synopsis of the Bible that Jesus taught when teaching his disciples to pray when he was asked to give such instructions. Matthew 6:9 “You must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.” Because it would be impossible to sanctified something that you know little or nothing about, it is only when one associate himself with the Divine name of God that such can take place in spirit and truth. Again, since everything that is taken place on earth is according to God’s Holy Name, we can see that there is a people on earth that are called by God’s name in harmony with his purpose: Malachi 3:16 “At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion, and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening. And a book of remembrance was written before him for those fearing Jehovah and for those meditating on his name. 17 “And they will be mine,” says Jehovah of armies, “in the day when I produce a special property. I will show them compassion, just as a man shows compassion to his son who serves him. 18 And you will again see the distinction between a righteous person and a wicked person, between one serving God and one not serving him.” There is only one group of people on earth that readily use the name of God in their worship with one another as Malachi foretold. Acts 15:14 Symʹe·on has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name. 15 And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written: 16 ‘After these things I will return and raise up again the tent of David that is fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins and restore it, 17 so that the men who remain may earnestly seek Jehovah, together with people of all the nations, people who are called by my name, says Jehovah, who is doing these things, 18 known from of old.’ There are so many more dots that can be connected for those that want to learn scriptural truth. Fulfilled Prophecy supports that Nehemia actually got it right. 'The booth of David represent pure worship of Jehovah God and it has been rebuilt in these last days by a people who are called by Jehovah's name as Jehovah says he is the one doing these things known from of old.'

Alex Campbell TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ABOUT A GOVERNING BODY ONE ONLY HAS TO LOOK AT THE ACCOUNT OF ACTS CHAPTER 15 THERE WE SEE FIRSTHAND HOW JEHOVAH’S EARTHLY SPIRIT DRIVEN ORGANIZATION HANDLES A SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE BECOME A CAUSE FOR DIVISION NOTICE BOTH HOW AND WHO WAS USED TO ADDRESS THIS MATTER: “Now some men came down from Ju·deʹa and began to teach the brothers: “Unless you get circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” 2 But after quite a bit of dissension and disputing by Paul and Barʹna·bas with them, it was arranged for Paul, Barʹna·bas, and some of the others to go up to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem regarding this issue.” Acts 15:1,2 ANY KEEN OBSERVER OF SCRIPTURE CAN RECOGNIZE THAT THERE WAS A CENTRAL BODY IN JERUSALEM THAT THE MATTER WAS SET BEFORE STRICTLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESOLVING THE ISSUE OF CORRECT DOCTRINE BECAUSE GOD’S EARTHLY ORGANIZATION IS ONE IN ITS ENTIRETY: “One body there is, and one spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling;” Ephesians 4:4 THE FACT GOD HASN’T CHANGED: “For I am Jehovah; I do not change...” Malachi 3:6 MAKE IT PLAIN THAT THOSE MOVED BY HIS SPIRIT WOULD TODAY LIKEWISE HAVE A GROUP THAT WOULD FORM A CENTRAL GOVERNING BODY THAT IS DESIGNATED TO TAKE THE LEAD STRICTLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESOLVING ANY ISSUES OF CORRECT DOCTRINE: “And the spirit and the bride keep on saying, “Come!” and let anyone hearing say, “Come!” and let anyone thirsting come; let anyone who wishes take life’s water free.” Revelation 22:17 UNLIKE THE INDEPENDENT SECTS OF CHRISTENDOM THAT ARE DIVIDED IN THEIR BELIEFS BASED ON PRIVATE INTERPRETATIONS THE TRUE CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION IS JUST AS UNITED TODAY AS THEY WERE IN THE FIRST CENTURY BECAUSE THEIR IS A GOVERNING BODY THAT KEEPS THEM ALL SCRIPTURALLY AND DOCTRINALLY SOUND: “Then Peter said: “Lord, are you telling this illustration just to us or also to everyone?” 42 And the Lord said: “Who really is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time? 43 Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so! 44 I tell you truthfully, he will appoint him over all his belongings.” Luke 12:41-44 THUS THERE IS A GOVERNING BODY APPOINTED BY CHRIST JUST AS THERE WAS IN THE FIRST CENTURY “Therefore, I appeal to you by the compassions of God, brothers, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, a sacred service with your power of reason.” Romans 12:1 THIS IS ALSO WHY PAUL’S LETTERS WERE MET WITH APPROVAL WITHOUT ANY OPPOSITION FROM THAT SAME GOVERNING BODY THAT HE COUNSELED TO RESOLVE THE DOCTRINAL ISSUE OF HIS DAY

Alex Campbell UNDERSTANDING THE GREEK SCRIPTURES ONLY INSPIRED LETTERS MAKE UP BOTH THE HEBREW AND THE GREEK SECTION OF THE SCRIPTURES THAT WERE FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING UP THE ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD OF WHICH ALL OF HIS SONS WOULD BE EXPECTED TO READ: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16,17 AND OF THOSE GREEK LETTERS PAUL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WRITING MAJORITY OF THEM, SUCH LETTERS WERE DISTRIBUTED TO EVERY CONGREGATION: “Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you according to the wisdom given him, 16 speaking about these things as he does in all his letters. However, some things in them are hard to understand, and these things the ignorant and unstable are twisting, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:15,16 IF I AM NOT MISTAKING PETER HIMSELF WAS A MEMBER OF THE FIRST CENTURY GOVERNING BODY IN JERUSALEM BEING THAT PAUL’S LETTERS WERE CIRCULATED THROUGHOUT ALL OF THE CONGREGATIONS THEY WOULD HAVE ALSO REACHED THE JERUSALEM CONGREGATION WHERE THE GOVERNING BODY ATTENDED: “See with what large letters I have written you with my own hand.” Galatians 6:11 - see 1 Timothy 3:14,15 SO WHILE THE SCRIPTURES DO NOT SAY THAT PAUL WROTE LETTERS DIRECTLY TO THE GOVERNING BODY IT CAN BE SAID WITH CERTAINTY THAT BECAUSE SUCH LETTERS WERE GODSEND THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT HIS SONS WERE MORE THAN ANXIOUS TO LEARN FROM THEM: “For I do not want to seem as though I were trying to terrify you by my letters. 10 For they say: “His letters are weighty and forceful, but his presence in person is weak and his speech contemptible.” 2 Corinthians 10:9,10 PAUL’S LETTERS WERE WRITTEN FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING UP THE ENTIRE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD: “but in case I am delayed, so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in God’s household, which is the congregation of the living God, a pillar and support of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15

The Dead Sea scrolls were not discovered until 1946 thru 1956 and they had no vowel points as you pointed out. The Masoretes only existed between the 6th and 10th centuries...so they we're not around to add their vowel points to the newly discovered Dead Sea scrolls, some 850 some years later. Were they?

Exactly, The Dead Sea Scrolls do not provide direct evidence of the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton (YHVH), as the niqqud (vowel points) were not used in ancient Hebrew texts. The Masoretic Text, on the other hand, does provide vowel points, which is why Nehemia Gordon's argument is based on the Masoretic Text.

Very interesting. I really like what Nehemiah says. I was just wondering if we can not go by what the rabbis say that the vowels are Sheva, cholam, kamatz? Also, Nehemiah says the masoretes deliberately left out a vowel to deter readers from pronouncing the name. I know very little about the Hebrew language but find this discussion fascinating. If anyone answers me please put the cookies on the bottom shelf. Thank you.

In the 2nd century the jews started to not use the name in public or to pronounce it, they inserted the vowel points to discourage pronunciation , in the old leningrad codex we read yehwah yehwih yehowah, but the instruction was to say adonay, lord or shema, the name, there is no evidence that the pronunciation was ever lost

Sir, the tetragrammaton YHVH could not be pronounced YeHoVaH because in Psalms 68:4,5 the half name is YaH and not YeHo or YaHu. Also, the universal praising is "hallelu YaH" and not "hallelu Yeho" or "hallelu Yahu" (Rev.19:1-6). Therefore, it is correct to invoke the name -- YaHVaH! Very basic and elementary, isn't it?

Following a Jewish tradition beginning after the 6th century BCE, The Masoretes, i.e., Jewish scribes from the 6-10th centuries CE, used an orthographic device known as Qere / Ketiv to conceal the name. Qere means, “what is read,” and ketiv means, “what is written.” It is found in existing Masoretic manuscripts dating to the 9th and 10th centuries, CE. There are several forms of Qere / Ketiv, including: ordinary, vowel, omitted, added, euphemistic, split, and qere perpetuum. The ketiv that is most relevant is the vowel qere. In this this case, the consonants are unchanged, but different vowel signs are added and only the qere, i.e., what is read, is vocalized. The most notable example of this is with the Tetragrammaton or the four letters of the divine name. To ensure that the name was not pronounced, Masoretic Jewish scribes left the Hebrew consonants, but added the vowel points from Adonai, and on occasions Elohim. Following the Qere / Ketiv, the reader was to read Adonai or Elohim, depending on the vowel points used. It was never the intent of the scribes that the reader pronounce the vowel points with the consonants. Not realizing this, early translators of the Hebrew Bible transliterated the Tetragrammaton as “Jehovah.” Once scholarship realized that this was never the intent of the Hebrew text, they noted the mistake. Today, there are some who either don’t understand the Qere / Ketiv system or who are actively trying to mislead people by insisting that the pronunciation is Yehovah. However, as nearly all Hebrew scholars acknowledge, this name arose through a deliberate modification in the Hebrew text following a tradition of not pronouncing the Tetragrammaton, as noted by the below references.

Love your stuff Jeff. I have had this thought for years. When Moses asked God whom shall I say sent me, God said tell him the "I am" sent you. It sounds like it isn't His name but an attribute. Like in movies when the delivery boy comes in with the pizza and he ask for "knuckles" and hands him the pizza. It's possible that the Father will be teaching His elect His name in the future.

Exodus 3:14-15: And God said to Moses, “I AM (Hebrew hayah) WHO I AM (Hebrew hayah).” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM (Hebrew hayah) has sent me to you.’” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD (Hebrew Yehovah) God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’” The Hebrew word hayah in verse 14 comes from the verb “to be.” It can also be translated as “I SHALL BE.” God’s name was not revealed to the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They only knew him as God Almighty (El Shadday). Even though the patriarchs did not know God’s name, they still understood that God Almighty was the Creator of the universe. Exodus 6:2-3: And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the LORD (Hebrew Yehovah). I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty (Hebrew El Shadday), but by My name LORD (Hebrew Yehovah) I was not known to them.” The Hebrew word Yehovah is actually a combination of three verb-forms: hayah (“he was”), hoveh (“he is”), and yihyeh (“he is now and will continue to be in the future”). That is, the meaning of Yehovah is “he that was, he that is, and he that will be.”

Agreed. That's at Exodus 3 : 15 , if you check Exodus 6 : 3 God says that He had not revealed His name before. This is the English form of the name, as is John, Jeremiah and so on. As has been said, I would rather stand on the massive research done by an Israelite on this subject that is committed to the actual Words of Yehovah as Nehemia is. God chose to give to His Hebrew chosen people the revelation of Himself first, but most of the Christian world tends to ignore that, and and seeks for knowledge in other places.... But you mentioned character, and that is a bigger reason for going with Yehovah with its three syllables that Yahweh does not have. In the Scriptures, the name of a person always told us something important about that person. Yahweh does not give the complete revelation of Yehovah. Yehovah is made up of the 3 verb tenses for "Hayah" that tell us that Yehovah WAS, He IS, and He Shall Be. The Name Yehovah describes Yehovah to us, but Yahweh? Which verb tense is that word lacking, if indeed it getting any of them.... Can anyone show me how that word describes Yehovah? I would love to hear it. Another beautiful thing is that first letters of the names of the vowel pointings make up the acronym for a special kind of LOVE. "Chashaq" only used 11 times in the Hebrew scriptures. CH-SH-Q Strongs #2836. (Look at all the meanings wrapped up in that word.) The Name with its consonants and vowels pointings shows us a beautiful picture of Yehovah. Yehovah our God, who LOVED us in the past, who LOVES us today, and shall always LOVE His creation. And the picture in the consonants show us how He loves us...unto death with the scene of a crucifixion. Y-Hands, H-a man with arms uplifted/behold, V-stake, H-man with uplifted arms/behold/revealed! YHVH. Jeff, one thing I have deeply appreciated was that my first exposure to Hebrew was with your chart of the pictographs of the Hebrew Letters. That was worth its weight in gold for me, and I am so grateful that I saw that first before ever trying to learn Hebrew. Otherwise, trying to learn Hebrew would have been "Greek" to me....another way of saying, I would never have gotten anything just trying to memorize letter strokes. But Hebrew words have deep meaning, just in the letters alone to begin with. Thank you so much for this gift to learning Hebrew and the meanings of the words.

Look guys! We all know that Yod ,Hé, Waw are all matres lectionis. This nature was used as vowels not only occasionally at the end of Words but FRequently and even in the Middle of words to easily help understand how to pronunce the words without resorting to vowels that are attributed to the word. Yod : usually " ee' sound Waw : "u" or "o" Hé : at the end of words frequently "a" sound ,sometimes "e" . YHWH vocalized " Iehouah ,Iehoa,Ieoueh ,Iehoeh" Iahouah,Iahoa,Iaoueh,Iahoeh" I personally pick on "Ye" instead of "Ya" regarding tons of Hebrew names that used to open with "Ye". Think Masoretic text is reliable when it comes to theophoric names that open up with " Ye" not "Ya". The " e" vowel has existed longtime in hebrew ( LXX written in the 3rd century BCE proves it).

In ancient Hebrew Vav was most likely /v/; it's possible some dialects pronounced it /w/. Evidence of this is when cross examining Hebrew transliterated in Arabic by the Karaite Jews, /b/ was used to transliterate Vav instead of /w/ although Arabic has a clear phoneme for /w/. The /b/ is a workaround to express /v/ for Arabic lacks it. Also, when examining Jeremiah 3:17 in the Masoretic text with Tiberian pronunciation, there's a dagesh on the second Vav, followed by a Shurek vowel. This indicates an alternate pronunciation shift of /v/ to /w/ due to Vav assimilating to the rounded lips induced by the long /u/ vowel Shurek.

That;s interesting how these interpretations end up having slight variations in the pronunciation , But outside of the Academics of it , by far the most important point would be the reinstating of "Gods Name" ( which when used today , regardless of the the particular language pronunciation is pronounced and written differently in most other languages) back within the Bible where it exceeded his Son's Name Jesus by being written in over 5000 more places. The irony of it all is the effort made by both Christian , Jews and Muslims ( who state the same God as Abraham and the prophets but disown him for Allah ) who claim the God of the Bible as their own , have gone to incredible efforts at keeping Gods Name from ever being reinstated in it's original over 7000 places. The Jews thru superstition , the Christians for the Non-Biblical Pagan Trinity and the Muslims for the complete replacement 1000's of years latter with Allah. The point is , whether it's pronounced Yehovah , Yehovih , Jehovah or any other pronunciation and reinstated the 7000 times it was replaced with Elohim and the many other generalized descriptive s that applied to both the real and false gods , it then assimilates the context of Bible to make much more sense. Unfortunately as I've noted , people make incredulous arguments to support " The Mysterious and incomprehensible teaching of the Trinity and yet deny the existence of the most stated name in the Bible Just think , everything from plants , animals , natural phenomenon , geological formations all have been associated as deities with 1000's of names and yet the only True God of the Bible is a nameless God???

The last I seen of Nehemiah He wouldn’t even honor that the Indians are a lost tribe that spoke the ancient Hebrew language. I also know that the V is from the German and the Yiddish not Hebrew. And the English b if you lay it down it is a tent floor plan and a Hebrew biet. Home, house, tabernacle...it’s not a V like they have replaced it in the modern Hebrew. They have changed the b to a v, because of pronunciation. The Germans could not pronounce the W nor the B. They also add German fried foods to their holy days which is highly unhealthy and a German gambling game. The German corruption is in their Aleph bet. I’m not fully trusting to this teaching of these two letters. Although I’m very glad Nehemiah sees that the oral law is corrupt, he should still be more honest and less deceptive of his belief of what he thinks about the NT. It seems that he believes the NT is the extended TaNaK and so adheres to himself as being a kariate Jew, ....which is a slight deception. He has not made a claim outrightly on what he exactly believes, kind of like a slippery snake. So I don’t believe he can be fully trusted. Because he wants nothing more than the truth. And the question is why in the world would you ask a German about Hebrew? That doesn’t even make any sense so he goes into depth where all of it started. And whether people are adding fried foods or not has absolutely nothing to do with this topic. And he has done a lot for giving clear understanding of the New Testament. YES! The Great Name of the Almighty is made up of 4 letters: ‎𐤉= "Yad" = Y ‎𐤄 = "Hay" = H ‎𐤅 = "Uau" = U ‎𐤄 =“Hay" = H Thus, if we put it together, we arrive at YaHUaH (YHUH) which is pronounced “Ya-hoo-ah”. Many sources erroneously imagine the letter “double-U” (W) or (V), as they cite the sixth letter of the Hebrew alef-beth “Uau” as “WAW” or “VAV” which confuses people to think it makes a W or V sound. The shape and sound of our modern “W” & “V” is not the same as the Abry (Paleo “Hebrew”) letter "U”. Waw & Vav are false letters invented by the Synagogue of Satan, that’s used in THEIR modern imposter language of YIDDISH Hebrew. The correct letter is UAU, which is pronounce “ooah”. Vav & Waw do NOT exist in the ancient language of Creation (Abry AKA Paleo “Hebrew”). If Vav was correct, instead of the tribe of Yahudah (commonly known as Judah), it would be “the tribe of Yahvdah”. Instead of Ruth, it would be Rvth. Same with the false letter “Waw” - it’s not Yahwdah, it’s Yahudah and it’s not Rwth, it’s Ruth. The Letter “V” was invented in the 1100’s & the letter “W” was invented in the 1300’s. The wicked Masoretes corrupted the language in the Middle Ages by adding so-called "vowel points" (various dots and dashes) to THEIR VERSION of Yiddish Hebrew around 700-1000 AD. That added new sounds and letters, which breaks this commandment: Deuteronomy 4:2 - Ye shall not add unto the word. There are 5 vowels in Abry - Yad, Hay, Uau, Alaph & Ayan, so there was no need to add so-called “vowel points” and new letters. There is no E, F, I, J, O, V or W in Abry. All those added letters are the leaven of the Pharisees that Yahusha said to beware of. The letter (Uau) of YAHUAH makes the “oo” sound, which is confirmed in the beginning of the Messiah's Name, YAHUsha, which means “Yahuah is Salvation” & the names of the prophets that typically end in His great Name. Here are a few examples, although there are many many more: YashaYahu - commonly known as Isaiah (Yahuah has saved) YaramYahu - commonly known as Jeremiah (Yahuah will rise) MattathYahu - commonly known as Matthew (Gift of Yahuah). Using falsehoods like Yahw-h, J-hovah/Y-hovah, J-sus, L-rd, G-d, etc breaks serious commandments: Exodus 20:3 - You shall have no other mighty ones before me. Exodus 20:7 - Thou shalt not take the Name of YAHUAH thy Aluah in vain; for YAHUAH will not hold him guiltless that taketh His Name in vain. Exodus 23:13 - Make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth. Deuteronomy 6:14 - Never worship any of the mighty ones worshiped by the people around you.

Amen.

The Hebrew vowel pointing doesn't allow two vowels on the same consonant. Therefore the way it is pointed in your video is not grammatically correct. Most early manuscripts, like the Aleppo Codex don't have a 'holam' vowel over the vaw consonant just the 'kamats' below it.

Why can't it be Yehavah ? What is the rule concerning ah and ha ? Hava itself is a legitimate word in Hebrew and I believe ye is as well? What happens if the two come together ? Thanks for your input regarding the Name. As far as I am concerned, Jesus said God is Love. Rabbit's say it is Yehovah or Jehovah with the J pronounced like Y , which is common in many languages. I would be interested in your opinion. In English their are numerous words that combine to form another word such as be and come equalling become. Thanks again !

It's like it says in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LjpGXSyIqTc.html here is the link. Watch it! It also shows JW's are recognized by others to have the most accurate Bible. The only clarification it needs is the Hebrew Scriptures they say has his name in them over 6k times. It's correct but it is cutting off almost 1k more places or 1/7 of the times it is in the Hebrew Texts. That's a lot. These people are not JW'S at the time of creating this video. But I don't know about you but if I found this out like they did I would quickly become one of them. Also your YHVH here is not ancient Hebrew. It is more modern and Latin has it as YHVH. It is YHWH in ancient Hebrew. There was only 4 letters and none of those extra markings around those 4 letters. They started doing that much later up to around Jesus time on Earth. So you need to get your facts right before trying to pollute God's name. JW's researched this for over 40 years before completing their Bible. King James did his Version, not Translation, in 3 months time. Big difference. Catholics tried to hide God's name and so did almost every other false Christian Faith. Even the New King James Version or NKJV took it completely out of the 3 or so times out of the original KJV.

The NWT is widely recognized as one of the WORST translations of the Bible. They add words and alter scriptures to support JW doctrine. An example-Adding the word "other" multiple times to make it appear that Jesus created all "other" things, and not ALL THINGS, as the Bible CLEARLY states. Every single thing that was created was created by Jesus! Jesus himself was NOT created. Adding the word "other" is an abomination against God! Further diluting the deity of Jesus, the NWT inserts the name Jehovah in the NT where it doesn't belong! In the NT, Jesus is the name to call upon. He alone is our savior, and Jesus is the name that is above ALL names, and the ONLY name that brings salvation. The NT, when not altered by the NWT, is VERY clear about that! Ro 10:13, Acts 4:12, Php 2:7-9 The NWT didn't alter this scripture, yet. "This one (Jesus) was in the beginning with God. ALL things came into existence through him, and apart from him NOT EVEN ONE THING came into existence. NWT Jo 1:3

Could the waw have a oo sound like in pool? In the savior you have Yod Hey Waw Shin and Ayin. I know you know that but let me go on. Why didn't you call Him Yahwshua? If the names of the patriarch's are pronounced YAHU then why is the Father and Son's YAHU sounded different? I have 3 of your books one being the ancient Hebrew lexicon and you even admit the waw or vav can be u or oo. When you hear the names of the patriarch's and other words that have the waw they ALL have the sound oo like in pool. So why do we pronounce the names of the Father and the Son differently?

God's Name is pronounced Yihweh - "He shall be (come)." It's from the imperfect (future tense) Hebrew word yih-yeh - "he shall be (come)." When a Hebrew name is chosen from a Hebrew verb, sometimes the Yod (y) is changed to a Waw/Vav (w or v). That's what happened in God's Name & in Khavvah's (Eve's) name. Khavvah (f) is from the Hebrew word Khai-yah (f) "living, life."

Just like all of our American holidays, are satanic pagan holidays! Easter, Christmas, are probably the two worst! Worse than Halloween! The Catholic Church is The reason for Sunday worship!!!! Wich is worshiping sun god osiris, All the old Roman, Egyptian gods are real “gods”they used to worship, witch were the fallen angels. The true holy day of sabbath is the seventh day not the first day! The Roman catholic changed it to Sunday! One of the 10 Commandments is to remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy and to not work for pleasure or for pay, Also these words originated from Sunday worship, was was created by Catholic Church, “ Lord, Jesus Christ, Sacrifice, Sacrament, Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday, ( Days of the week are named after their gods) the cross, the fish symbol, glory,Easter( which is also named after one of their gods, Holy, Amen, Bible (Holy bible) means sun book, Xmas a. I could go on for hours if I go threw all my notes, all religion is false, if you want the truth, look up pastor Dowell and the watchmens report, both RU-vid channels, they are the real Hebrew Israelites! Most all of black people are Gods chosen people! You are not African American, you are Hebrew Israelites! By the way “Jesus” is still the savior that’s just not his name and he was black along with all the apostles they were all black Hebrews, The Israelites are supposed to be a holy nation following all of God‘s laws statutes and Commandments and they are supposed to preach to the Gentiles and Set an example for us whites, and Preach to ALL nations! I have long been convinced that the Tetragrammaton is correctly pronounced as "YaHoVeH", which is a contraction of "Yah Hoveh". It's a complete Hebrew sentence meaning "Yah is". Hayah=was || Hoveh=is || Yavoh=will be The Tiberian nikkud system for assigning vowels to the Tetragrammaton as YeHoVaH is deliberately misleading for obvious reasons.

The BIG problem with your theory there is that the dot or dagesh is NOT over the Heh, but the Vav. If the dot was over the Heh, then I could see it being pronounced "Hoh." But it isn't. Also, why would the Vav have a dot over it, and a vowel underneath. The reasoning behind the Jehovah pronounciation, with an O in it, is taken from using the vowels of Adonai. The fact of the matter is that Hebrew doesn't have any vowels. So, technically, if you see ANY Hebrew word with no vowels, then there truly are no vowels there. The vowels are only added if they are added. The added vowels themselves arent even the same in Sephardic, Ashkenazi, or Yiddish... and also you are dealing with Ancient Hebrew, that even the 3 groups just mentioned might not even use the same. Also take note that you give different instances in the Torah of how YHVH is written with vowels, and eventually pick 3:14 for what you want to use, ignoring the other YHVH's without a dot above the Vav. The truth is that you will never know how to pronounce YHVH correctly until you actually go somewhere in a higher realm and hear for yourself. Until then, you are just relying on what other MEN have to say.

Jeff, you're ignoring some nuances of Biblical Hebrew - I'll trust Dr. Nehemia Gordon and his research on the Name (2,400+ manuscripts with 3 vowels that say YeHoVaH, but zero that have 3 vowel pointings indicating a 'Yahweh' pronunciation).During the diaspora, Jews who lived in Arabic speaking countries (Yemen, Egypt, Morrocco, etc. all the way up to the Iberian Peninsula) eventually spoke Arabic as their native language, which has no 'V' sound, being replaced with the 'W' sound - so even when they spoke Biblical Hebrew in the Synagogues, it was with an Arabic accent - and the YHVH became YHWH in the KJV Bible because those translators were instructed by Sephardic Jewish rabbis. Additionally, the Qal form of ehiyeh is used in Gen.3:14,15 as the explanation of The Name; Y'Hiyeh, Hoveh, HaYah (He will be, He was, He is) - Take the Yi from Y'Hiyeh, Hov from Hoveh and ah from HaYah = YeHoVah.

You are mistaken, Elohim is not the word the Keone Greek word added as the meaning for Lord and preserving the actual vowel sounds. The word you are looking for was "AdOnAy" Which gave us YAhOvAh but the rabbinic vowels which have been verified in over 32 places in the dead sea scrolls and in the Aleppo and Stalingrad codecs all match with it being Yehovah. The Professors felt they could not stay to one codex to proof these facts but chose the many to substantiate them which is how the actual vowels would have been handed down as well. And honestly nobody knows the exact pronunciation of the letters or vowels because they are long lost my friend. Then too the name for Jesus is Yehoshua and it basically retains the same vowel pattern and name abbreviated as Yehovah as well. But nobody ever questions the name Jesus. So why would anyone question the first use of Ieovah, Gehova or Jehovah in English in so many countries and lands going clear back to 260 a.d.? They never questioned it. Not until 1975 when the Non Denominational Groups then removed the name from many Bibles in the U.S. within six months time and rose the issue of Yahwey which cannot be two vowels leaving out the one middle vowel. Likewise the Roman Latin for iulius Cesar is Julius Ceasar which is a strong indication that the "i" was in fact "G" sound for "J" in the earliest Latin for the missing sound of that first letter in the name iehovah even though there is no way to possibly be sure.
