I just got the Sonata N-Line in stormy sea blue and boy do I love this car. Where Hyundai has come from and what they are today, it's amazing. Same thing applies to KIA. People are missing out because they may not like the name attached to it, but KIA is not what is was known years ago, same as Hyundai. Hyundai did wonders bringing in Albert Biermann from BMW as he was at the helm of their M Division.
I wanted to thank you so much for your reviews on this vehicle! I was on the fence between the Palisade and the Calligraphy. I love the Palisade, but I couldn't justify the price when I don't need the third row! I bought the Calligraphy 2.5T AWD today and I LOVE it! I got the Portofino Gray with Coquina Beige interior! Very sexy!!! This is my second Santa Fe. I had a 2008 Santa Fe with 150k miles but I had to replace it because it had a 2" inch hole in the frame due to corrosion. The frame couldn't be repaired so Hyundai did the right thing and bought it back from me. What an awesome company! Again, thanks so much for the reviews and advice!
New to the channel, watched a few videos and i'm hooked on your review format! Watch a lot of car reviews but yours are by far some of the best, nice one!
Watch Charlie on Asian Petrolhead. He reviews everything from Korea. They get the models a good 6 months before we get them here. He reviewed this Calligraphy the end of last year.
Just purchased a Calligraphy last night in Hampton Grey. 20" wheels. I'm in love. It's so luxurious and this leather seats are so soft. My teens love the panaramic sunroof, heated rear seats and color.
We paid around $46k for it....we have every upgrade, roof rack too, our wheels are also different. It's beautiful. Wish I could share a pic of it on here.
@@Whileweweresinners it's crazy the different regions and pricing. We're in Utah and always seems a bit higher here....freaking sucks. Damn dealerships lol
@@Whileweweresinners I just put $ down on a 22 Calligraphy. Msrp was like $44,815. Paid $42,730 before tax. Thought in this market was fair. The Calligraphy is popular, they’re selling very fast after arrive. And the dealer only had like another 3 coming in over the next few months. So was happy.
Every time that right door opens it’s like having a life changing experience, as he part the Red Sea of car choices, we always arrive at that moment in time.
I have a 2019 Santa Fe 2 liter turbo limited. The interior is beautiful. It is a fantastic driving experience every time I get in it, whether it is a 10 minute drive or a 4 hour drive. Bought it new in Southfield MI for $7500 off sticker price. It’s a dream machine!
I love the controls in the centre just love it so easy to reach amazing design honestly Hyundai don’t do gimmicks they actually make features that are useful and for safety
I really like the new wheel design. I'm 68 years young. I can remember back when car manufacturers had 2, maybe 3 wheel choices. I welcome all the new wheel designs in 2021. I have always leaned towards the Santa Fe for my next new SUV. The 2021 Calligraphy is worthy of my time to boogie down to the dealership and test drive one. Thank you sir for another great review. Nobody does it like you. A shout out to your lovely wife for her excellent camera work.
One thing about Hyundai is that they listen consumer about design, sleek innovation, and care about the design. I’ll pick these on the spot over Ford Escape, Toyota Rav-4 all day. Hyundai props on these Santa Fe. Love it!!!!
Jooooooeeeeee and Loooooriiiiii! You guys are absolutely awesome 😎😎 the Santa Fe is gorgeous in this iteration I love that it's the Goldilocks of the SUV segment that it's in it's absolutely competitive and a stand out!!
Thanks Raiti, you nailed the complaints I have on tail pipes. Your exactly right on how unbalanced the back looks with only 1 tailpipe, that’s the number 1 deal breaker for me. I like how you also point out other things in the vehicles such as “hydraulic struts” for the hood and also important are AC Seats. I agree and like how you point out that the rear wipers should be hidden under the rear spoilers like the new Sorentos. Thanks so much for doing these videos, you’re the most informative and entertaining person to show the vehicles that we would like to test drive and certainly buy one of these days. Thanks again Raiti!
Always thankful for your reviews + teamwork with your wife. I agree with your perspective on the zonks/price points. It would've been nice for a dual or dual tip exhaust, pocket for behind the driver's seat, rear zone climate, and truthfully just not a fan of the way Hyundai and Kia do some of the rear turn signals for select vehicles. Everything else in incredible for what they're offering. I think little things like that + maybe better mpg overall on their vehicles would make them top tier with everything they're offering with purchases right now. Strong builds nonetheless.
Joe and Lori. I am really digging this 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy. I LOVE the grill and the wheels! YES need TWO exhaust outlets. An all-around great vehicle.NICE interior.Lori WONDERFUL technical/production work as usual Lori. Joe, could we hear the horn on some of these vehicles? Thanks, guys. I.ll see you on another ride!
I'm hooked on that 2021 Buick Envision that Joe reviewed recently.. Looked up all trim levels and none had digital dash but besides that the SUV is Dope... Joe ur the best.. keep the videos with caption coming lol... have u done a caddy ats v coupe.. and blackwing caddy for 2021?.... thanks
Bought a limited last week for my wife. We both love it. They did an awesome job on the interior. It feels like a way more expensive car. It is very smooth and quiet. I wish my Tesla Model Y had as nice of ride.
@Ayush Malpeddi Wow, it's hard to compare the two. I love my Y, but I wish it had a little softer ride. The Santa Fe's ride is way better. But the Tesla is a blast to drive. They both have enough room for us. The Y is my daily driver, but I think we will be taking the Santa Fe on longer road trips on the weekend.
I just bought a 2020 Santa Fe 2.0T AWD limited a few weeks ago. I am simply amazed at all the tech it has Joe. Your videos were a huge deciding factor from upgrading from my 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T AWD sport. What i don’t like about the 2021 is the the huge button layout between the driver and passenger. That put me off of the 2021 along with not having a shift lever. The 235 hp is more than adequate. DO i wish i had the 2.5? Absolutely, but i got a pretty solid deal on the 2020 that i couldn’t pass up!
From Aussie, the Santa Fe is very popular 'Down Under'. Which leads me to your Massage Seats 'zonk'. The mind boggles as to what's they might fit next. thanks Raiti for your top review/s. :-) :-)
Ha! We ended up at Fitzgerald this same night (that you posted this at least) and saw this specific car. Ended up picking up a 2020 Santa Fe Limited 2.0T (from Robert!) Those mfg rebates right now are too crazy to ignore. But would've liked a 2021 w/that redesign. Anyway, you were probably the largest contributor to changing my wife's opinion on the Santa Fe and Hyundai's in general with your videos, so thank you. Fitzgerald has a sale directly correlated to your videos. They owe you!
Been waiting on you to review this Calligraphy trim, especially since no dealer within 100 miles of me even has one in stock yet for me to sit in myself! I'm really liking this Santa Fe but for not much more I can get myself RDX A-Spec or even the 2021 Buick Envision Avenir. I've always driven Hyundai mainly due to their awesome warranty and the care I've gotten at my local dealers but I feel like I'm at that point in my life where I want a more luxurious car. I feel like I've earned it. This car looks the part but at the end of the day you're still sporting a Hyundai badge (and a Chrome one on a black grill at that! LOL).
Bought a 2022 in Limited trim and absolutely love it. The fit, finish and overall build quality reminds me of what Lexus was putting out a decade ago. I looked at a couple pre-owned Lexus SUVs prior to buying my Santa Fe and wasn’t very impressed, it seems they’re built to a lower standard than decades ago. Every time I drive the Santa Fe I’m absolutely amazed by the quality and tech one gets for the price, even at MSRP, which nearly every buyer is forced to pay these days. Even the headliner and carpet are more akin to what you’d find in a luxury vehicle. Allegedly, Hyundai can offer their vehicles for such low prices because they supply their own steel. Whatever the case, it blows my mind that buyers were paying similar money for a Lexus RX330 in the year 2005. Here we are 17 years later and $42K buys a vehicle that’s better in every regard, maybe with exception of resale value. I agree the single exhaust outlet is a zonk but I can respect that Hyundai isn’t playing pretend by splitting the exhaust of a 4-cylinder. Splitting the exhaust of a 4-cylinder seems almost as silly as fake hood scoops and simulated exhaust rumble. I didn’t much care for the front-end styling of the Santa Fe at first. In fact, I thought it rather ugly, but it has grown on me quite a lot, it’s sort of an “attractive ugly.”
Great video! I'd rather have no exhaust tips showing rather than just one. How hard to incorporate two tips? Such a small detail, but makes a big impact in my opinion.
Raiti I watch alot of your vids can you please integrate the sun roofs better by opening then all the way etc? Thank you man, you have the best reviews!
Raiti I've been wondering what this Sante Fe going to be about. Impressive ....love the "hit you in the face just like a punch from Mike Tyson - so true. Makes you think about getting one uhu?
I recently purchased the 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy after doing my research for about a year or more. I was looking at 8-10 different vehicles including the Genesis GV70. Having sold cars for over 20 years and owning at least 20 new vehicles I have to say I'm impressed with this one. It has a ton of power, especially considering it's a 4 cylinder turbo, 281 horsepower is plenty for me with 311 torque, wow! With gas prices going thru the roof I wanted something that used regular instead of high test, and I wanted AWD, and tons of tech....the calligraphy has more features than the GV70 with the same engine and it's about 10k less....I know it doesn't look as good but I'm OK with that. Anyway I think it's a great value and I plan to keep it longer than most of the others I have owned, at least thru the warranty period, 5 years 60k.
Great job with these vids. Looking for my next vehicle. Was waiting for this review! Glad I did. Will stick with Kia Sorento X Line. Great vid on that one as well.
Although it's only a refresh, this Santa Fe is actually riding on a brand new platform shared with the all new Sorento. They did this so that going forward, the two can be on the same generation cycle.
1 nice, polished, slash cut exhaust tip if fine on the Santa Fe. No need for 2. My attention is drawn to the beautiful, curvaceous rear lights and D-pillar area. Definitely going to test drive one tomorrow!
If they made this SUV in a sport version with a black package to get rid of all that chrome on the exterior, they might have something cooking here. Good review Mr. Raiti!
Joe, those wheels are the same as on the Limited. My dealer explained there is a production-supply issue with the 20" wheels - the ones seen in promo photos, and that they're delayed. Hyundai's remedy was to create a separate sub-model "Calligraphy with 19" wheels" and knock a whopping $200 (sarcasm) off the MSRP. Last I checked, you can build & price a 20" Calligraphy on the website, but there's no inventory.
Wow! A lot of SUV with a ton of new age tech. The interior designers really knocked the Santa Fe out of the park. I could live in it. I see a relative bargain at $43,000!
This limited Santa Fe offer so much for such a good price. The ride quality is close to what lexus offers with betrer tranny and superb acceleration(i got 6 s flat from 0-60mph). Car is quiet and tech is top notch- camera quality is mind boggling,,,,as crisp as it gets.
Just picked up a Calligraphy last week, they are quite hard to find! Black on black with the 20” wheels which btw look waaay better. Thanks for the great review helping us to make the decision.
No danke da wveells. My wife has the palisade limited, and I don’t like those wheels either. But it’s our first Hyundai and after a year continues to impress us. I’m watching this for my new car shopping. She got her turn...
I CANNOT WAIT to go back to Hyundai! Specifically the Santa Fe! I used to own a 2017 Santa Fe Sport 2.0 Ultimate, until it was totaled in an accident. I ended up buying a 2020 Volvo XC60, which is nothing compared to the Santa Fe Calligraphy. I mean NOTHING. First and last Volvo I will ever buy. With Hyundai, you get so much for the money.
Hola Zonkman, love. The Hyundai Santa Fe the wheels are a dandy but when you've talked about the driver's seat back I understand that the back seat passenger on driver's side has to suffer but no car is going to be 1pp% built at all.
As most folks recognize, the Santa Fe and the KIA Sorento have been nearly identical vehicles for several years. Same size inside and out. Same AWD systems (though labeled differently), same transmissions, same infotainment systems, etc. In the past, however, there have been two significant differences. The Hyundai's engine offerings were all 4 cylinder mills while the Sorento's optional engine was a 3.3L naturally aspirated V6. (A turbo version of that engine was found in the Stinger.) The second difference, of course, was the fact that the Santa Fe was a two row midsize SUV compared to the standard 3 rows of the Sorento. For 2021 the new generation Sorento and the "refreshed" Santa Fe are even more closely related. The number of available seats remains a significant difference but the engine/drivetrain differences of past years have been eliminated, altogether. Each now offers identical engine and transmission choices. Furthermore, the Santa Fe now offers the top trim "Calligraphy" model that rivals the top trim X-Line Sorento. Previously, the top trim "Limited" Santa Fe was somewhat less well equipped than the SX-PP trim of the Sorento and enjoyed a several thousand dollar advantage in terms of MSRP. The new Calligraphy edition comes within about $500 of the MSRP of a comparable fully loaded X-Line Sorento. In effect, what Hyundai and KIA have done is to distinguish the Santa Fe and the Sorento in much the same way as the Palisade and Telluride differ. The Santa Fe, most clearly in the Calligraphy edition, emits a "near luxury" vibe similar to the Palisade while the new Sorento, most obviously in the X-Line version, has a more rugged look and feel similar to the Telluride.
Huge *ZONK* for not having separate AC/Heat control on the second row center vents. Which means hearing my mother-in-law constantly complain about being "frozen to death". How can you ask for over $40k and call this vehicle "premium" and not offer this when a cheaper Toyota Highlander does? Might as well save big money and buy an older model. Excellent review as always! 😉👍
Although, I prefer a gear shift lever...Not that push-button transmission shifter .My 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Ultimate AWD is a beautiful vehicle and drives like a dream! Comfortable, quiet and that panoramic sun-roof..Beautiful! I have less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle in 3 years and our local Hyundai dealers don't charge me a dime on routine maintenance!!! That new model definitely needs dual exhaust ports...I have them. Hyundai has really upped their game!!! And my husband's 2019 Sonata Sport drives like a "rocket", especially in sport mode!!! And his has dual exhaust ports also. Hyundai should bring those back in their newer models. Overall, we are very happy with Hyundai vehicle products.
Up close, I'm not fond of the wheels but from a ways back, I kind of like them. I didn't see adjustable lumbar on the passenger seat which seems like a zonk? Thank you Joe and the Queen of the Camera, I've been waiting for this one!
I went and drove a Palisade today and they had a Santa Fe on the showroom floor. It's very nice. I like the idea that it's going to get a hybrid version later this year. In the end, I like the Palisade better, but the Santa Fe is a nice vehicle. (BTW, there is a second storage compartment in the back where the 3rd row would have been. It's quite large.)
I love the food as measuring comparison….cold cut without pickles in door pocket, the cubby in the passenger dash is about 20 twinkies wide. 20 Payday bars in center console. LOL
Beautiful vehicle from top to bottom messed up only by those rims that look to industrial for the rest of this curvaceous Hyundai! Keep dropping these great vids Brother 👌 !
