Us too! We had a 2013 Santa Fe & and 2016 Sonata and LOVED both of 'em. They were flawless but we made the mistake of buying a 2020 Subaru Outback that we ended not liking and sold it to Carvana for a CRAZY profit. Ended up replacing with it the exact same model & color as yours and we love it even more. Although I wish it had a bigger fuel tank and JEEZ that turbo is dangerous.....can really eat the gas if you're too heavy-footed. But we are crazy about it! As far as I'm concerned it's a Genesis and this guy doing this review is one SERIOUSLY picky Dude!

Kirk those buttons are very premium & upscale looking & feeling buttons. They're better than a touchscreen panel like you get with the Tucson Limited trim. I prefer the physical buttons to the Tucson's glossy piano black touch panel for audio & climate controls around the screen

I have the 2022 calligraphy and a 2024 Tucson Limited (my wife's car). I much prefer the Santa Fe but the Tucson is also a very nice car sans the locking buttons (need to use the fob or touch the handle when locking). I much rather have the buttons in the console than the touch screen. You have to look at the touch screen to make changes where on the calligraphy, you can feel for the button needed due to muscle memory. Both cars are great and I love the Hyundai product line.

I've followed in Kirk's footsteps & I work at a Lexus dealer. I've been cross-shopping the 2020-2022 RX 350 with the 2021-2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy, & this Calligraphy trim has more features than the RX 350s in the pre-owned inventory at my dealer or other dealers for that matter. I usually see lightly optioned Premium package or F Sport models, & I hardly see the Luxury package model which is rare to find so maybe that's why I feel like the Santa Fe Calligraphy had more features for the money compared to the RX 350

Well this top trim has features that would cost thousands more in a midsize luxury brand CUV/ SUV like the Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Nautilus, & Lexus RX with a similar powertrain. So you actually save more money with the Santa Fe in the long term for a lease or for financing, not to mention that Hyundai has a better warranty & gives you 3 years of complimentary maintainence included for free now. So the value aspect adds up to what you're paying for this top Calligraphy trim . And if you don't like it then you can tget the Limited 2.5T or a different trim that suits your needs. This is an option for people who want a car that looks & feels premium upscale inside & out with the latest tech, safety, luxury, & convenience features without needing a luxury badge to go with it. I love this car since a GV70 with the same engine in top-spec form is more expensive

I know it might seem crazy, but I'm strongly comparing this Santa Fe Calligraphy trim to the K5 GT bc they both have the same engine with the Calligraphy only has 9 less HP but it has the same amount of torque. The Santa Fe has the 12.3" digital gauge cluster, a Head-Up Display, the Blind Spot View Monitor, & Remote Smart Park Assist, which the K5 GT doesn't have even with the GT1 package at the moment. And the Santa Fe Calligraphy trim also has a nicer interior with the Coquina Beige Nappa leather interior & customizable ambient interior lighting. So it's making it a hard choice for me to decide between the two. I mean I know the K5 GT gets slightly better MPG with this engine, & it's more performance & driving experience focused, but the Santa Fe has more features for only a little bit more in terms of price. There's probably a $4-5k price difference between the two, which Idk how that much that would affect lease pries, since I would get the K5 GT trim with the GT1 package in Sapphire Blue with the Chestnut Brown SynTex leatherette interior & additional accessories. For the Santa Fe Calligraphy, I'd get it in Stormy Sea with the Coquina Beige Nappa leather, & there's no packages to add, just optional accessories. If you had to choose between the two, which one would you go for Kirk (& the other viewers of this video)? The GT1 package on the GT gives you the 360° camera & ventilated front seats, which this has standard, but it doesn't have the Blind Spot View Monitor & Remote Smart Park Assist as an option. I don't think it has Digital Key support either the way the Santa Fe Calligraphy does. These feature differences make me lean toward more the Santa Fe Calligraphy or Santa Fe Limited Hybrid bc of the current gas prices. I mean the good thing is this engine doesn't require premium gas which is kind of balances out with the MPG you get with it in the K5 GT & the Santa Fe Calligraphy
@starztrukk
@starztrukk Год назад
What did you end up going with? If more tech is your preference, go with the Santa Fe. If you value a lower center of gravity and lower weight, go with the K5 GT. I understand your struggle - I have a '19 Optima SX, darty little sedan and the predecessor to the K5 GT. My mom wants to get a Santa Fe Calligraphy so I'm doing the research for her. I would be satisfied with a Santa Fe myself because Hyundai threw the whole kitchen sink at this vehicle. The AWD version in particular seems capable of handling the 2.5T's power, something the FWD K5 GT struggles with. Keep that in mind if you're still shopping. Good luck!

I love the Santa Fe! Hyundai knows how to incorporate German design cues. They hired the right people to turn this brand around and I'm thoroughly impressed. The only thing is that I don't care with all those buttons. Hyundai needs to leave that option for the poverty spec trims. The buttons make the interior just slightly outdated. But I'm sure Hyundai will revamped the interior with an all new redesign with a fully digital screen, like the refreshed Palisade. The one thing I can say that the Koreans is unmatched with and that will be technology! Their technology and trim options doesn't compare to Toyota or Honda. It's class above for the price point. Who would've thought you can get something like wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay as a standard feature? Sure, the higher trims with the big screens don't offer it. But in my opinion, the more tech the higher trims has makes up for lack of wireless Carplay/Android Auto. Can't wait to see the new redesign 2023 Santa Fe!
