Mic drop. Bentley creates the greatest SUV available to all…well if you can swing $300k. The camera shot showing the dash while you’re driving shows how beautiful this really is. I’m impressed with the V8 throwing down sports car speeds at 5,500 pounds and the entire interior from tip to toe. Joe, I also learned something tonight, “Lema”, not “Lemans” as I’ve always thought. You are the man. Most enjoyable SUV review I have ever seen. 👍🏻
I’m glad the press car has the Airline seat specification. Kind of the biggest reason to get the EWB is to get those fancy seats. I’ve seen a couple of EWBs that don’t have it, and it feels like someone totally failed when ordering the vehicle. The lighting through the perforations on the door panels is a neat option that looks great at night. Also, the bright green border around the footrest is just protective tape that should’ve been removed at PDI.
Right off the bat: the exterior hasn't been refreshed in years, the headlights look even more outdated and the silver rims a boring. The interior is REALLY nice. But damn that price tag is out of control. 298k. Wow.
I can't believe Bentley actually lent you the SUV Joe. The only criticism I would have is no piano black trim. I love that stuff. Seriously that is one beautiful car. A lot could be learned and incorporated into down market vehicles such as the real knobs and button controls. my chauffer would love driving one. Another nice review all around from the Raiti crew.
I don’t know… the Bentayga needs a redesign. It seems dated inside and out. No matter how good the engine and interior quality looks and feels, it still just seems pre 2018 looking to me🤷🏾♂️
I think your wrong. I think they fly under the radar along with Porsche (pronounced poor-sha) Like eg; you could get away with this or a Porsche parked in the hood, a hellcat? No.
Now the Bentayga is perfect. Great work Joe. If presented with the choice I’m tossed between the Bentayga EWB and the AM DBX. Until then I’ll have to keep asking the Great Spirit of Powerball to look favorably upon me.
Any car that has navy blue leather is instantly luxurious and special. It's nearly impossible to find such a configuration in non-luxury brands these days.
Take it easy with those zonks! The front fender air extractor where you said they should add their Bentley logo is actually already the Bentley logo, it’s the ‘Flying B” itself.

You could get a Genesis GV80. It’s a very nice car. I’ve driven a few. It was designed by a former Bentley designer. There’s actually a video (not Raiti) comparing it with the Bentley. Or you could get a Volvo XC90. I’m just listing SUVs with similar high-end luxury grand touring looks. I’d also list the big Range Rover, but it’s price prohibitive (as a new car, for most people). Maybe even the new Lexus RX would be a similar grand touring, high-end lux SUV. Haven’t been in one. The only problem (for some), is that the RX sells very well, so everyone and their mother will have one. Some people like that, but I kinda like standing apart from the crowd. I say that, and then a lot of the cars I like get killed off (Dodge Magnum, Kia Stinger). Hope this helps.

I’ve thought about a Flying Spur but never the Bentayga. Who knows, maybe the standard wheelbase version beckons. But I’d spec it differently than that one.

Bentley, RR and now Ferrari have failed to create the magic with their SUVs compared to Coupes and Sedans I think. Lambo is the only one to do justice to Urus.
That Touareg platform that VW group used for every luxury SUV, didn’t work for the Bentley. I wish they would’ve developed a separate, larger platform for the Bentayga. Bentley deserves something larger than a Cayenne.
Very nice vehicle. But there are too much quircks from other VAG products. Partially Touareg, partially Q7. Even some switchers and buttons look like switchers from VWGolf. They need separate assembly lin without any toches with other VAG products.
Very nice car, but the whole back of the car looks weird. The lights don't fit the car. And is that footrest taped or have they decided that mint green is a good color :D
Since this year is the last year of the W12 for the Flying Spur Speed, that will probably be the big seller. These don't hold value at all, with 4 year old models selling for less than half of the current price, you aren't really getting a great deal for 300k. Just a little bit more and you can get a Ferrari Purosangue or for less, a Ferrari GT4C Lusso V12, an FF or even a 2018 or newer, depending on options, Lamborghini Urus.
Interesting analysis, Bentley is definitely striving to create a higher metal for itself, but such is the case with any story Marque that was purchased by a global conglomerate, got their money and had plenty of money to play with - the and took the brand to the next level, we saw this with jaguar and Range Rover Land Rover when Ford owned them. Aston Martin, Jaguar... and Range Rover/Land Rover took Ford's money in produce the best vehicles they had in their history up to that point. I am thinking with Volkswagen, the world's fourth largest automotive manufacturer, that Bentley is doing the same thing with Volkswagen's money. The Savvy thing was, they didn't loose the utility part of SUV, the X7 retained the third row seat, and the Maibock version of the GLS I believe has it as an option oh, you can't forget that in, Bentley didn't and that's going to make that car a high-water mark Target for Savvy SUV buyers in the elite group
