Not really interested in a product for such a price for my personal use, but interesting to see what you'd get for that money. Kudos to mentioning the issues Fanatec is having; there's too much "youtuber gets free product, hypes product mindlessly ignoring all points of criticism" out there already.

I love how Fanatec can get promo stuff out to RU-vidrs in record time but their customers wait for months to get products they paid for. This isn't a slight on RU-vidrs, just on Fanatec's poor customer service.

Quick release is nice in case of an accident you can get out easily.

I just got my gt7 DD extreme going to have to order the pedals now but I like the option of being able to pick whatever pedals I want and not just being stuck with the pedals that are compatible.. I've only ever used thrustmaster wheels so I am extremely impressed with this fanatec wheel it's very heavy and built with quality very happy with it..This wheel plus my new GTR pro sim cockpit and my vr2 headset will help me to reach the next level.. Control is everything in Sim raising so I'm glad that's the one thing you were really noticing is the level of control you have with the wheel.. Very nice...Top Vid..🙏💯

I’ll be impressed when they finally start making full size wheels a standard because mostly adults who drive cars with a full size wheel buy them and kids don’t usually build sim racing units. Knowing your market is key and they don’t seem to understand it yet and neither do any other sim accessory companies.

Thanks Steve! I got the DD Pro that came with the CSL Pedals and LOVE IT! Also running the load cell brake. The only things I might like from this Extreme to my Pro is the more premium feel of the wheel and paddle shifters and the bigger smoother (I guess) motor. But for that price I'm happier with my DD Pro. Cheers!

Kireth had an interview with Fanatec's CEO recently that explained their recent problems worth a look if your waiting for a delivery from them.

Seems like a great bit of kit, I just wish they went with a flatter, carbon GT/Race centre plate - rather than the OEM plastic styling, but that's just my preference.

I really love the camera view for the wheel itself. It helps seeing how much rotation you're putting your car under during certain corners, especially for someone like me who's trying to improve his lap times and cornering technique. If possible would you be willing to show this view during qualifying and time trial videos? Great video all in all.

That fuel map adjustment looks so convenient, and will surely make a difference over the course of a race.

Hi Steve. When you were using your DD X wheelbase, did you notice the wheelbase vibrating if you overdrive the tires? I'm getting that after updating the firmware. Is there a chance this is intentional and I should use it as a guide when I put the tires at their limit? Thanks!

While I can't speak to the shop times of this product, I have had two orders with fanatec in the last couple months. I think the longest wait I had was a week and a half between ordering and having in hand.

I ordered on black Friday and received wheel and 2 QRs in about 2 weeks

Any clipping? Also, the QR2 lite limits the max torque to 8NM, does not make sense

So I'm guessing you can't get the rim for a gt dd pro? I don't need 15nm nor to spend 3 times the price of my ps5. What settings were you running as well?

Would you recommend this over the Logitech Pro? It appears that "True Firce" is similar to "Full force". I currently have Club sport V3 pedals so the $1300 price is about equal to what I would have to pay for the complete Logitech system. It seemsthe Fanatec eco system is much more robust than Logitech, since they have had the last year to add wheels, and haven't.

Do you think itm will be compatibile with gt7 in the future? Also Botton Module Endurance or not?

Well, pretty safe to say that I want one. But I play in VR, so I can't see it. Can't see the screen, can't see the buttons. But the major switches look like they're in the same pace as the DD Pro wheel, so I should be fine. I think Steve mentioned the smoothness and the precision, this sounds good to me, diaregarding the screen and so on. But the big rim (and smoothness and precision) is what I'm after. Sounds awesome. I will have to wait and hope that it becomes considerably cheaper though 😬

Yet another great video Steve. Interesting to hear your thoughts on the GT DD Extreme. As a follow up to your comments about Fanatec & their delivery issues : I was going to order the GT DD Pro in October 2023, then Fanatec told me that the DD & DD+ were coming so I held off in the hopes of getting a "more premium setup". I ended up ordering the DD+, the Podium Porsche Wheel (with the endurance button set & the paddle shifter set & thanks to the Black Friday sale ended up getting the V3 pedals with the Tuning kit & Damper kit for just €300. I received an email today to say it's on it's way & then hear about the GT DD Extreme ..... Talk about P***ED OFF. The GT DD Extreme (apart from not having the pedals) is EXACTLY what I wanted in the first place. Instead of which, I've now got (or will have soon) the DD+ (perfect), the V3 pedals (perfect) but the Podium Porsche wheel instead of the GT wheel. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Do you talk about the possibilities of buying it separately or something like that, if it’s worth it instead of the old GT Pro?

It would be so nice, if the display would only show current gear like in Dirt Rally. I don't want to see how fast i am, but i want to see the gear im in at all times. The RPM Meter isn't colored yet...oh well! I hope tthis comes in the next few updates and then we can get wild with fanalab ^^

I have been playing on my XBox one and Forza Motorsport 7 and my Thrustmast TMX wheel, for a number of years and have just ordered the Fanatec CSL DD 8NM wheel with a ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula V2.5 X (for XBox) and the CSL Elite Pedals V2. that said in order for me to go to Forza Motorsport 8 I need to change to a XBox Series X. So my question is do I now make the move to Grand Turismo 7 and a playstation 5? Love to get any feedback from this group, and even Super GT. Amazing. In any case thanks for any feedback and this video.

I wish they would do an upgrade to the Mclaren GT3 wheel or finally give us that Bentley rim that keeps showing up but is never released. That one looks good though for GT7 especially as its designed specifically for the game. I presume they have the licence now then for the DD+ if you're using it?

Looks like a nice wheel. So strange that it is a GT branded wheel yet has more functionality on PC 🤔

As for FullForce is a "subwoofer" that makes vibrations so you can feel when going out of track or over a curb or any other vibrations on the tyres, the thing is, this isn't implemented in this wheel, TrueForce is the same thing in the Logitech PRO and there it actually works, similar technology is available in ThrustMaster TRS300 and Logitech belt driven G923.

If you already have a good set of pedals from Fanatec, then this is honestly not a bad deal. The DD+ is a 15nm base, that goes for $1000 on its OWN. Minus a steering wheel or adapting your old wheel to QR2. But if you’re starting out, then the regular Pro 8nm version and buying the Elite pedals is the way to go. I just ordered my set yesterday and it’s already shipped and coming this Friday. From what I understand currently, if it’s in stock, they ship fast.

Have to check if Fanatec situation improved since a month ago they couldn't fulfill almost any order, but i really want a PS5/PC compatible wheel.

I've been playing Gran Turismo Since GT3 and have always wanted a wheel and pedal setup for a long time. But for $1,300... I can buy a transmission or motor for my project car. Is it worth the money and is there cheaper options?

This is probably the best review for one of these that I've seen. Great video man! If this thing made you that much quicker then it's the real deal.

Full force hasnt been implemented yet on any Sim, Iracing will have it first apparently but all it does is add vibration effects i think ! But PD need to give it an official slot on the wheel profile page asap. I think this wheel / base is looking like a game changer in GT7 imo Looks like your rig needs tightening up, otherwise you'll end up with Kie type issues 😂😂

On one hand, i really really really really really want one. But on the other, i don’t play enough racing games for this to be worth it
