The sad moodlet was from not practicing physical skills. The trait is not about focusing on one type of skill, but on consistent practice with all four skill groups. It works more like a lifestyle and starts as a hefty debuff. Every day you practice for even a few minutes on a skill type, the buff will upgrade one step. If you fail to practice that skill type (like physical) the buff will move one step towards debuff. The major issue with the trait is that it is expressing this counter with a focused moodlet, rather than fine or happy. It's great for a super sim due to the fact that you play them from birth. If you take this trait as a child, by the time you are a teen, it should be maxed on all 4 skill types. All skills with be raised with a 180% buff, plus whatever else you where stacking. The only disadvantage is once this buff gets going, you will have a hard time getting any other positive mood dominant. This makes aspirations hard to complete and many skills at a disadvantage, as they would gain a large bonus from the correct mood.
I saw lots of speed 3, broken mods, some free will, assumptions about how the trait worked. She also noticed the penalty to start, but then did not play out more than a week. Do you only play sims for a few days per save? Not manage moods? Not stack moodlets?
mods weren’t broken at all? and also they’re talking about sundays video, not this. in which i compare this trait doing all skill sets and just one, and then both of those without the trait. it’s clear from that video that this trait IS about focusing on one skill set at a time and not all at the same time. it’s confusing in its wording but that’s exactly why i did the experiment ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cIqMIrblf3A.html
That's my go to in every new save I start. Whatever the purpose my Sim will do with their lives , it always begins with a club to boost whatever activities/skill building they need. Plus, the tiniest home
I really don’t like this new trait after testing it for myself in my gameplay. Some things I noticed: - Despite video explanations and looking stuff up, I don’t think anyone is 100% certain what it is - My sim with the trait has a focused moodlet almost non-stop - My sim’s uncle just died and she never actually grieved because the focused moodlet was stronger than the grief moodlet, it’s way too overpowered of a trait - its just kind of weird and confusing in general. I think it needs to be cleaned up, call it something like “determined” or “skill focused” so it makes sense as an actual personality trait, and then tone it down so maybe they build skills quicker over time and are more likely to get focused moodlets, but scrap the whole momentum mechanic. Just my opinions as a thoroughly addicted sims player! Despite not liking this and taking it away from my sim I do like that the sims team is trying new things like this and hope they keep experimenting with new personality options.
Agree with this since I don’t do challenges like Super Sim and just play my families: it seems over programmed and about gaming moodlets and is just overall confusing in how it even works as a ‘personality’ trait.
I'm doing the Super Sim challenge right now for the second time, I would not personally use this trait. As a Super Sim you're already getting a lot of repetitive boosts from completing every after school activity, buying reward traits, etc. The first time I did this challenge I got two bonus traits for boosting Fitness from the Cheer/Football High School activities, but I was maxed at Fitness way before I got them. Any help is welcome for sure! But I think you'd be better off using one of your three slots for something different. The four child base game aspirations also give you a boost in the four categories for completing them. Plus the Scouts trait, Top-Notch Toddler, Savant, Morning/Night Sim, lot traits, and more lol.
It seems to have the opposite effect on creative skills because of the focused moodlets. The skill boost isnt enough to compensate for the sim not being inspired so they max the skill in the same timeframe as a sim without the trait.
@@DoveJS The Focused is too strong, especially by the end of the week. And I assume you play for more than a few days per sim. This also stacks with the debuff in skills to start. In the long run, you will have higher skills base, but you will lose out on the effective +2/3 levels that you get from the moodlet state.
@@samkennedy6687 hrrm, ok. Sounds like they just didn't think that part through... unless... what's that emotional surge ability? Is that from meditation? Can you pick your mood from that? I forget.
i HATE having free will on. like, i want you to do this, don't freaking do something else. like, do what i told you to do edit: i saw the bored moodlet from the dance machine trait. maybe that's why he autonomously danced
The more I watch about this trait, the more confusing it is …. honestly like it was a good idea over programmed as I do like the idea of getting better at something over time. But the more people try to explain the trait (sometimes with conflicting and confusing info about how it works) the more I prefer my strengths/weakness mod and talents mods instead. That being said, I’ve given one of my child sims this trait and since I won’t be “gaming” the trait just letting her grow up with it, it’ll be cool to see if its worth ever using again.
i have to admit, i have free will disabled for the selected sim 😅 i’m a little micro-managey when it comes to my sims! but of course that setting is useful for multiple sim households, as i can focus on one of them without having to worry (too much) about the others
Yoga is wonderful to prevent a burnout or get out of one. As soon as you start practising yoga, the time left get cut in half. Then, as you practice, it get down twice as fast as normal. It counts as both a mental and a physical activity. Have a kid practice yoga and watch as both his thinking and physical skills go up together. Kids will often practice yoga by themselves.
The battlepass event started super late in Australia, but it seems like it's actually still running. When I fired up the game yesterday, it was still asking me if I wanted to claim stuff even though I had claimed everything.
Super Sim : Max out all skills, unlock all reward traits, max out all careers, complete all aspirations, get all diplomas (university), get all perks for all occult that have some. Spa Day : Practising yoga is bot a mental and a physical activity. Meditating is only mental. Extend the roof of the house over those plants. Free and should not be taken into account for determining the surface of the house. If you have more than one Sim, free will off mean that all of the family won't do anything unless you ask them to do something. Risking a burnout ? Having a burnout ? Go practice some yoga. Halves the time required, then double the rate of the recovery.
They really should have given a bit of a break on the skill bonus, like if you cook or talk to other sims that shouldn't take the bonus away right away, you should have to be working on that skill for more than 1 or 2 hours to make it mess up your bonus. or it just decreases the moodlet length instead of the percent increase. Also, unrelated sorta, but my high school band director always said practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent...that was the first thing I thought of when I saw this new trait lol
This is interesting and not how people interpreted it. Seems like it could be slow if you don't pay attention and ensure the sim is focusing on one skill at once. A challenge but if you focus on one skill until complete, then it's not a challenge. I say a good trait.
You can add it thru command for now at least. Just did a new toon on the 6th and added it. I did the event but for some reason my Xbox data file broke so I had to clear my files and it deleted all my event stuff.
"If you don't play with free will on, how does it feel when you have it on, do you just get really really stressed out?" yes. yes I do. I play 90% of time free will off because I'm a micromanager and the rest 10% is me trying to experiment letting the sims do whatever and stressing the hell out because of it
I play with free will off, no matter the household size. I'm a control freak and can't stand it when my Sims get into nonsense or are unproductive. My Sims work hard, and are constantly busy skilling up or tending to their needs or their home. There is no slacking off in their little world. My little world is a completely different story... 😉
