I enjoy procrastinating by playing The Sims and recording it for you guys to (hopefully) enjoy. Sometimes I even go as far as playing other games for entertainment. I am obliged to say that if you aren't subscribed already then you should.
this pack adds nothing that you can't do already with the base game. All it does is put multiple levels of checks that make your relationships grow faster, slower, easier or harder. It's all done through stats you can't even check and the only feedback you get is text popups. Especially if your playstyle is very manicured and managerial, and doesn't rely on autonomy, this pack truly offers nothing to you. The online dating may be the only unique thing about it but even that can be substituted with the gallery, the Get Together clubs or just by creating your own sims. If you're thinking of buying the pack for CaS and BB, i implore you to look into CC if you can. To top it all off, they made one of the emptiest and most lifeless worlds in the game. This pack shouldn't even exist, let alone be priced at $40.
my thought over and over while watching early access vids has been ‘this is SO many popups’ you are totally right about them missing the opportunity to have a breakup interaction. this pack is very “telling not showing” :(
@@itshaileyjo right, and while I do believe just because something does sound simple to program, doesn't mean it always is, we have an arguing, crying and breaking up animations. I don't believe it would have been hard to program sims doing these animations. Then the popups appear it's adding to why a sim is yelling at another or why a sim is crying because we see the animation. This is worse than how kids and teens are forgotten about. Let's forget the animations....
Before the pre-Lovestruck update, my sims have been proposed by phone, never up and personal. Would be nice if it would happen in person with the 'EP'.
My question about the pack is not so much about cross-pack but rather the base game's Serial Romantic Aspiration where you will earn the Player trait. How does the Player trait comes in to play with all this new Romantic Dynamics? Will it overwrite the jealous response from the NPCs?
Yes like rn what would be different from the one in growing together.. i’m so worried the two are gonna collide and break the game even more than it already is
How does this pack work for occult sims. Are the supernaturals bugged? How does werewolves work with the pack. So few people play with vamps, aliens and spellcasters. I hope that they are tested for the new expansion.
I was hoping for a sort of match making dynamic or job. Like a semi-active career. Imagine getting a client‘s file, what their turn offs and turn ons are, what they are like and what they are looking for, what kind of dates they might enjoy, they hobbies, etc. And then having to go around the neighborhoods trying to find someone that matches. And then send them on a date. Depending on how well it goes they might get together or not. It would be a cute way to influence the world and other sims while making money. Such a wasted opportunity… (You could even add a system where you advice the sim on stuff to do on their date…)
Since this pack's focus is about love and attraction, they could have added some gameplay elements to other age brackets like "first crush" or "puppy love" to children or "first love" or "young love" to teens.
Like Growing Together, Lovestruck seems to be a core base game update packaged as a game pack and sold at an expansion pack price-point. I'm not paying CAD$62 for this nonsense. Maybe in a year or two at 60% off and I have $20 in my Steam wallet. I got Growing Together this summer sale for $17 including tax. Fair enough.
i am really looking forward to this pack bc its right down my alley but the one thing that grinds my gears is that weight rack that you cant use. in the promo and in the dating app you see sims holding the weights and posing with them, the pack includes at least one poster with a sim using a weight yet we cant do it in game. and instead of creating just one animation for that we get a new treadmill and weight machine design. the rack would have been such a nice item to add to our sims homes since its small and realistic
@@MagiqueArrow they added new animations, they just didn't do enough. There's cuddle in bed, the star gazing. Then that's it. Heck they could have just added when a sim does the arguing , breakup and crying animation. Nothing new.
like imagine a day of the dead festival where u bring ashes and trade it for a little jewelled skull , or a flirty dancing festival in the ciudad enamorada park
I think pack replayability depends on how we play the game and the demands for the theme. Also how 4 needs to have everything for free. Ts2 introduced the attraction system in Night Life and now it should be free. Lot types I think they don't dare add. I remember for ts3, they'd add the lots introduced in Late Night to every world. Of course this could be solved by a free update. I don't know what the difference was for the lots introduced in Late Night to want these lots. I'm not a fan of ts2's system. 4 is a good one to me but you're right, one Sim with no attraction and one with attraction should take longer. Idk what I'd set this as while thinking about the normal lifespan. Which I think is why it's set to allow things to go fast. Hmm, maybe 2 interactions per Sim day until they hit a point? 🤔 I don't think 13:15 is a big. It seems like they need time to realize they're attracted to. I was worried about the Romance skill would be a problem. It seems odd but also makes sense except for 'scan the room' ( for now). I wish the new career and consoling was interactive. Unfortunately people have the same complaint about interactive careers; to repetitive. It depends on how you like to play. The warning pop up, yeah I'd say a mix of a pop up and the Sim yelling at them. I don't think this is an engine limit, but, I hate saying it, the gurus refusing to program the coding. The negative interaction then 'let's get together ' is weird. Again simple coding that the Sim refuses for x number of days or after x number of interactions. Forced loving dates too. Relaxing in bed def should have been updated but of course that's something else that people will argue should be free. The two different bars likely has to be set in the beginning, not included almost 10 years later. Even with everything you're saying in this video and the hour long one, and what I agree on, I'm still interested in the pack. Not everyone is going to like the same pack. Even if two players both want more romance in the game. I actually have been thinking I don't care about romance, but like I said I'm interested in this pack.
What's the point of a new generation of game, if it's not to bring new gameplay? I don't see any point in continuing to recycle the same themes (like seasons) over and over again lol
@@mxtheusleite the funny thing is that people did tell me the first couple of years into ts4 is that they were expecting an upgraded ts3 when 4 was announced. Just better graphics. Then there's people who talk about ts2 as if 4 should have been just ts2 remastered so it seems like new gameplay is a debate. IMO there's also how much new gameplay. Including if seasons was BG. Then would Snowy Escape be better accepted or get the "should have been BG" argument? Everyone has different opinions which then leads to the argument about who EA should be listening to.

I’m just disappointed they didn’t really add many new date activities to do. If you look at the date options when you go to plan one it’s literally what we already have in base game. Where is the pottery? Archery? Open cinema? Pool tables? Like it’s so insane to me.
I would like an arcade pack that included pool tables, pinball machines etc. Also possibly mini golf as well. We need a diving board and slide for the pool as well
Hopefully pack integration is there and this is a system that doesn't get forgotten about if we get packs adding new activities. Like what Steff says, an arcade pack.
Agree! They really pushed gym dates and added all new gym equipment. Which we already have so same animations. They tease us with dumbbells and not even usable!
Pottery would be so cool, but I think they would rather make whole pack about it, not include it in EP. You know, EA being EA, Nifty Knitting 2.0. I swear next year they'll make another dlc category like kits but for activities and general gameplay... But I wouldn't be opposed if they would make something like Sims 2 Free Time and include bunch of hobbies in one game pack, we could use more. With the emphasis on 'bunch' 😂

the game just says if you’re mean to someone when they’re not satisfied then they can break up with you, which is the same reaction as breaking their boundaries that i showed in this video. i didn’t even notice one of my guys wasn’t satisfied until i checked him and his boyfriends panel
Beside the town being called “love town” and a cheap looking rabbit hole woohoo motel, NOTHING, absolutely nothing is loved theme, it’s just a regular town filled with low resolution decorative Buildings and Horny Sims . Why am I complaining, I don’t even play the sims 4 anymore. But it just comes from a frustrated broken heart 😢💔 . £40 ladies and gentlemen! Otherwise Great overview! Thank you Molly

I may sound selfish, buy I feel like for how much money we pay, we should get more. If that makes sense. I actually love the female create a sim for the most part. Unfortunately the male cas looks like stuff we already have for casual wear. I am disappointed that the straight hair updo in the clip has that chunk hanging out. I don't like that at all. It doesn't look flattering. Was excited for that hairdo until I saw it in the trailer. I just wish we actually got more for the price. I'm super excited for this pack though.
I think sleep replacement is 100% necessary in any kind of baby challenge. Trying to get everyone on the same sleep schedule (especially infants and toddlers…) is impossible and so my moms are always dead tired. 😅 I should just get one of the sleep traits but I always go for sleep potions.
I really love this review! I love the way you did it and your honesty about it. I personally really don’t know what to think. I know I often download things that can make my feminine sims look more sexy and I’m glad that we get that in this pack. As for the men, I’m always disappointed with what they give us for them. Same syndrome then when I was a child playing Barbie... It’s like male sims are not really important, we have to include them because they exist, but they don’t get what they need and deserve, they are overlooked and when they get extravagant things to wear, it’s things I never ever use in my game. 🤷🏻♀️ I wish they would give masculine sims real masculine looks for a change, not just feminine looks arranged for male sims.
Honestly this is probably my favorite cas in a while. A lot of the risky stuff also leans into alternative clothing styles which I'm always happy to get more of and we have a lot of really colorful stuff in the masculine tag whick I tend to adore and have a lot of fun with but we just don't get often. I even like the shoulder tops cause again they kinda lean into some of that just not mainstream style. I also use CC from some creators who kind of push the maxis match lable so while some if the assets don't look as nice as say Senate's CC (definitely push Maxis Match but gorgeous CC and works for me but I also don't need the writing on stuff to be simlish so yeah) they also don't look any less like sims 4. Yes, Senate's stuff looks so much better but if they're inside what I use these things will at least not look out of place.
I'm excited for the cas honestly I even like the costumes but somethings are similar to things we have yes but we have so much now it's prob hard not to
I actually think it's fine that kids didn't get stuff in this pack, sense this pack is a sexy pack it makes sense that kids don't get stuff. I'd be wielded out if they did
i feel like money hungry/greedy actor? or secret agent? maybe the kid noticed the family didnt have much money and he wants more money for himself and a big house, also hates animals because their father seemed to care more for animals than for him???
I’m actually really excited for this packs CAS stuff! I like the amount of oversized tops for women (and even the crop tops) but I especially appreciate the more “daring” outfits for masculine sims. Overall it doesn’t feel too one-toned or themed which I really appreciate
agreeeeeee whilst i will not be touching the shoulder tops at all, i love that it feels balanced this time around. it doesn’t feel like they’ve just stuck to a comfort zone which i appreciate so much
