I bought my 2001 Nomad 1500 Fi with only 12,000 miles on it, from a dealer I might add, for only $2800! Compared to the cheapest Road King I could find at the time which was a 1999 RK with 70,000 miles for $6000. It's been a great bike so far!

The cool thing about folks who love motorcycles is that they can usually ride anything with 2 wheels, that they appreciate almost everything with 2 wheels and that they have fun on almost anything with 2 wheels. Then theres the crowd that says, "it aint shit if it aint a ....." . I have the utmost respect for the first and absolutley none for the later

I just bought a 2004 nomad 1500 from my mom. It was my late stepfathers bike. Lived it's entire life in a storage unit. I'm not lying, the bike had all of 97 miles on it. I just got my endorsement, and this is my first ever bike. I love it so far, I'm just learning and getting comfortable with it.

I've owned a 2003 Road King and I currently own a 2004 nomad 1500. The Nomad has 37,000 miles on it and has been very little trouble little to no maintenance just basic upkeep. It runs smoother and has the same power and it is just as or more comfortable than the road king. The price difference and effort to maintain alone is a great selling point for me. What am I getting for my money is what I'm looking for not a name brand.

Through the years I've had two 2001 Nomad 1500 FI's, and I loved them both. They were always one of my favorite bikes to ride. I bought my first one new, and sold it at 65,000+ miles to buy a GoldWing. After a couple of years on the GoldWing I missed my Nomad so much that I found and bought a used 2001 Nomad FI that was the same color as my first one. I added a travel trunk from a Voyager 12 to it, and ended up riding it more than the GoldWing! The second one had really low miles when I bought it; and it had about 70,000 when I finally sold it. These days, I'm still on a Nomad...... a 1700 with a CSC trike kit on it. Love to ride those "Big Cows" (Kaws) !!!

Power is relevant I been mounted on Flatheads, Pans and Shovels until I got the two Harley twin cams. (I sold them both) and they had way more power and speed over my 72 FLH. I was actually looking at a Nomad since I sold this last 02 FLSTC I have $6.200.00 to spend. I may go look at one I saw for sale. the cool part is it a 2003 with 21.000 on it for $3.500.00 with hard bags new windshield and tires. I don't know beans about Japaneses bikes I have always had Harley's and original Indians but at 67 I am not too old to learn.

I have the 2007 1600 Nomad with now over 85,000 miles on it. It is a wonderful bike to ride. All day comfortable. Hit start, it just runs. The 5.2 gallon tank gets me close to 180 miles. I have the driver backrest. With the air adjustable suspension, with my daughter on the back and the air up around max, people in the group I ride with are impressed with how it can go through corners. It is planted and stable. I did replace the Meep horn with an Air horn. The one thing I did have to get replaced was the steering head bearing. Very quickly it developed a "notch" in the center. Local dealership changed it out for a different version of bearing and 60,000 later it is still perfect.

@@chaoticadventure The max according to the manual psi was 41-42 unloaded. Two up, with gear, with damping set to max made it a stout ride, but was very stable in the twisties and did not sag if you hit a bump in a turn.

Sean, I bought a 1996 Vulcan classic a month and a half ago & I now regret that. The bike is a remod and alot of hardware is either loose or stripped. It leaks oil like a sieve in many places and has some electrical issues. Well I went looking for another Vulcan & I found a real beauty. A 1999 Vulcan Nomad in immaculate condition. Well taken care of by the original owner and the guy I'm about to buy from. I do have to change the bars because they are just like the handlebar in this video (too close to beach bars which I don't care for). Overall the bike I'm about to buy is a great ride and a real beauty. I'll be keeping it for quite some time.

I have the 1999 Nomad. I chose it over that sixteen point injection. Why? It just felt better on the roll. Not so responsive that it would pull a wheel ie and frankly cruising around on a 1500 I really don't want to do it, this bike is not made for that. Yeah she likes gas but still cheaper than filling up my truck. I've had several cruising bikes. I'm not going to say this is my favorite but it's hard to beat a GoldWing. She isn't light either, over 700lbs and I'm 5'10 at two hundred and I have to watch how I go in anywhere to park. Most of the time I look for a little rise to pull up on then just let my clutch out to back it up, like I said over 700lbs of deadweight. Would I recommend this bike? Yes I would even for a beginner cruiser. Just don't be intimidated buy it's size. Once your rolling she handles like an 800. As far as it being better than a Harley, I don't know. My friends ride Harley and always on me about getting one. But to tell you the truth I can buy three Nomads for the price of one Harley. Yeah it's not the same. I go to rallies and people tell me it's nice but not the same and I just say yeah I'm more of a leader than a follower. I believe if you bought one, gave it a month you would be good to go. They are sweet bikes, large motors and have enough power for a good run.

I had a 2000 ‘ NoMad 1500CC 4 Valves per Cylinder, two spark Plugs per cylinder. Electronic ignition , 750 pounds five or take wet . It handled the same at 30 mph as it did at 80 mph . . The handling is Awesome ! As you say very comfortable. 12.0 Seconds in a 1/4 mile . I never should have sold mine . I sold the nomad for a Road King . Kept the Nomad for one year to the day . Nice two tone paint job on the Nomad . The only negative on the Nomad is the over flow tank for the liquid cooling is under the seat . There was more then once where I had to stop the bike and get off the seat because my behind was burning 🥵. The other negative it didn’t have very good fuel economy, so you didn’t have long range . Compared to the 2002 Road King I bought I got 200 miles . With a solid 50 miles to the gallon of gas .

Does anyone out there know where to buy the air dam/radiator cover that this Vulcan has on it. I have a 2005 Nomad 1600cc and I really want to put an air dam on it.

What would you say is the value of a 2002 Vulcan 1500 now? I have a chance to buy one but not sure. It would be my first bike.

Had a 2005 nomad, great on the highway but sucked in town or at low speeds. Too heavy and the front end was heavy, handled like a pig

Love my 2004 Nomad. Purchased it in June 2006 with 12,000 miles, from a 70 year old man who rode it to California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and to Houston Texas to see his family. When he left Texas to ride back to Oregon he went North to Sturgis S.D., Montana, Idaho and finally back to Oregon. He never rode it much after his trip to Texas. Sold it to me two years later. Since then I have ridden it all over Oregon, Washington and Idaho. The last 4 years I have only ridden 600 mi. I love the bike it keeps up with the Harleys on steep mountain passes, even passing them. Has 35,000 on it now. Still looks almost new.

I’ve had a 2003 1500 nomad and a 2000 1500 classic and in my opinion I like the classic more. A good set of pipes and a windshield and back rest is all you need for a cross country trip. My classic has 60k on the odometer and runs a strong as ever! All time favorite cruising bike and great in the mountain corners!

Best bang for your buck out there, agreed; the classic with soft bags the better choice. Keep the rubber side down.
