This episode reminds of "The Routine" from Gumball where Richard goes on an absurd quest just to buy mayonnaise. It's similar situation where you give your dumb/sloth character an extremely mundane task that ends up becoming an interesting adventure. The Patrick Show needs more episodes like this. Not necessarily "copy and paste", but at least done in a similar vain. Literally anything that isn't about "Patrick spends the day trying to eat food"

Weirdest thing is that in terms of parents, Patrick's "dad" is voiced by the same VA(Thomas F.Wilson, yes Biff from back to the future) who voiced his dad in the Im with Stupid episode of the original series. But the thing is, in this universe Patrick's dad is named Cecil while in the original universe his name is Herb

Heh, what that show reminds me... Do you guys remember in a special SpongeBob episode called "Truth or Square", there was a scene where Patchy the pirate was in the belly of a whale and explained how the developers supposedly looked at other SpongeBob characters to become the protagonists? He showed the SpongeBob theme song with a Krabs Version, a Squidward version and a Patrick version. He then noted that none of them had any success of becoming anything. Imagine that now.

Same here, Cosmic space thing. I am rooting for The Patrick Star Show to improve on LS Mark's criticism that Patrick's parents are just an extension of Patrick and Squidina is just an extension Sandy. Bunny the Barbarian was definitely a step in the right direction for how it tries to give Bunny her own identity and personality.

Even if they somehow improve the spin-off and have at least decent episodes, it still won't get people too watch the show. Nobody cares about Patrick Star Show and not even worth getting mad about it anymore as everyone will just skip and ignore it.

This show is looking to be a spiritual reboot of uncle granpa, I can't say I'm against it. It's undoubtely going for a more surreal type of vibe, I hope we get more development and maybe spongebob can tone it down and have slapstick be used more on the patrick show, I'd love spongebob to change creative direction every couple of seasons ngl

I actually like it as it’s very unique. Though it’s not for everyone, I don’t know if anyone noticed that Squidina did appear in the Spongebob episode The Goofy Newbie. Maybe the parents are redesigned specifically for the show just since this does exist in a different universe and it does things that the Spongebob show couldn’t do.

I do want to give this show a chance even though I think 2 spinoffs of Spongebob is too much but I keep forgetting about it and Camp Koral. I feel the same way about the Rugrats reboot but at least Rugrats hasn't been on the air sense 2004 so it doesn't feel as unnecessary.

This reminds me of that one kids next door episode where Numbah Four lost the remote in the couch and when he went looking for it, he dropped into a couch world full of frat guys who forced Numbah Four to compete in a gladiator style competition in order to get the remote back.

2:25 Fun fact Squiddina, Pat's sister appears in the main show, in the episode where Patrick gets hired by Goofy Goober "company" And the reason she doesn't recognize Patrick is because Goofy Goobers is secretly alien death cult and they brainwash all kids who eat Goofy Goober ice cream to eventually become Goofy Goobers. It pains me to say that movies and series can go on far too long. Spongebob should have been given an honorable death about 2008 or so. After 10 years, no franchise is going to be the same as it was when it started. Like Kylo Ren ironically said, "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."

Usually people hate the spin offs because of controversy that Stephen Hillenburg never wanted spin offs, and Nick suddenly made two spin off after he died. Other likely optiona is that people don't like anything involving modern SpongeBob because it's too different to classic SpongeBob, or that these spin offs adds nothing to the show because they are too samey and wish Nick would support more original cartoons instead of supporting SpongeBob.

What about that one where we follow Patrick’s morning routine? Like with the cans and shit? And they made a whole episode about Patrick trying to feed himself, that was a good episode of Spongebob, that’s what this one could be. Patrick’s character can lend itself quite well to this “mountain out of a mole-hill” episode arc. It can be ridiculous because that’s the point. It’s ridiculous for a character to be so dumb it takes them an entire adventure to find the remote or make breakfast, that’s why it’s entertaining.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson dumb fans?! Steve NEVER said he was completely against the idea of having spin-offs he just said he didn’t see it happening. Also that ONE interview was from 2009, 9 years before his death. For all we know he coulda changed his mind back then. Also both Kamp Koral and The Patrick Show were both most likely already pretty far in development (most likely 5-7 eps had to have been produced at that point) by that point as that’s just how animation works so he probably was on board with it or somethin woulda happened at that point
