I just managed to get one (October 2024) just before it retires in December 2024. Bought it from the Lego store and got over 2500 points! I won’t be opening it even though I love the set (and want to open it), I willbe wrapping it up in bubble wrap and storing it away in the attic for 5 years. There won’t be another set with all these exclusive mini figures in again.

I bought this set recently fully intending to hold onto it for a number of years. Every time I look at the box, I move a little more toward keeping it and building it myself to enjoy it. I have plenty of time to decide!

I absolutely understand! Maybe if you find a decent promotion buy a second one? If you keep that second set maybe it will eventually have funded the build of the first one. That's the beauty of investing in something as Lego, you're not just able to make some money with it, it could help fund your hobby or collection so that you can enjoy it to the fullest! :) Thank you for watching!

If it was me then I would buy a second one and then keep one for yourself and build it! I own one and it is for the purpose of keeping it. I will say the build is fun and seeing it on display, with all the minifigures, is amazing! I’m even debating on if I should purchase a light kit for it. But I will say that I agree that the price will skyrocket on this set some time after retirement.

I can get the set for 268 dollars a piece, for some reason there’s a store that sells it for that price. That’s with tax- 268

this set is massively hoarded. everyone thinks it is going to do amazingly well after retirement. that is the reason it is not going to happen.

I understand what you're saying, but still i think it will perform good. It's one of the very best sets i've seen over the last years and i'm sure a lot of collectors will want it in the future. If you're able to buy it today at a decent discount it would have to go very bad to not be able to make a decent return on your investment in the future... But i do think it will take some time...
