Went back and forth between Mt100 and SCL1000 on which one to buy. Went with the Kubota and could not be more pleased with the way it preforms. Awesome machine.
Been using mini skids since 1996 we noticed some instability issues while unloading it from the dealers truck at 75 hours we decided we need to go back to our dingoes. Front and idelers are raised 5/8 of an inch. At 165 hours we decided to trade it back in but the guy in Michigan. I just traded in five of his brand new Kobotas so they wouldn’t take anymore. We love the Kabota because it was beautiful engineering really nice stuff there. But it’s top-heavy and unstable. I get tipped over last fall and $15,000 later with a brand new motor. I sold it to one of my subcontractors after working with it he’s trading it for a Kabota backhoe out of New Jersey. And we are in Chicago North Shore. Kabota has better specs all the way around but the operator experience it’s almost impossible to do fine grades with and the men are left with sore backs and concerns about loading it up or unloading. i’ve met with the engineers from land pride in Iowa who is bought by Kabuto to make the 1000 series with a detailed list of excellent quality comments and bad experiences the drive controls are sticky so it keeps moving after your release it it’s like the most beautiful date you’ve ever had but not the one you want to make babies and grandbabies with
I think the hoses are done that way because it has vertical lift. There is one made by wacker neuson as well now. So many different options available. Great video
We’ve got a Kubota scl1000 which we use for our landscape company. Before purchasing here in Canada I had rented most of if not all the different brands. Ditch witch, toro, bobcat, boxer, Vermeer etc. We currently have around 150 hours on ours since picking it up in late spring of 2022. Can say from an owner operator that it’s been by far the best out of them all. Things I love: -Turbo more power -Quieter engine than competition -Foam padding and cushion -Sprung operators platform -Bright LCD screen -Service hours tracked on screen -Vertical lift arms great for tall roll off bins -Heavy counterbalance lots of weight on rear to pickup objects -Wide and super stable tracks -36in width great for back gates -Size, fits in a Southland 6x10 Dump trailer with large bucket and forks. -Can run all day and still have fuel to burn -very fast -universal attachment plate, can aftermarket attachments Overall we’ve been extremely happy with the machine. One Con: -Our dealer support in Canada not the best For the money its been the best for us. Much cheaper than bobcat and Vermeer for us in Canada. Time will tell how it holds up and whether or not it was a good call in the long run, like most first generation products.
I have the SCL1000 and I can tell you that the LED light sux period... If you have any attachment on, it blocks the light in front of it... on As for the hydo line, if you rip one of those bad boys off, you probably ripped your arm too... As for the platform, the foam helps cushion your feet and it is not slippery at all... On the nut pad protection, it really helps when you are driving backwards and your hips don't slam into the machine... When you are driving forward, I am not leaning on the pad and I can usually see when a racking situation is approaching to prepare for impact... lol ... I was told by Kubota service that if I accidentally run out of fuel, the fuel pump is self priming and I don't have to jack with purging air out... I don't know if all machines are the same... I'm at about 260 hrs on my machine...
@@adaptandcreateI just got quoted today for SCL $37,975 in upstate NY. They didn’t know when they could get it but they have been authorized to order them. MT100 was $37,775 in August.
I would say bobcat support is better. Also when I am running a breaker near a house the turbo lag from a kubota can lead to accidents. The bobcats non turbo engine is far better for breaking out concrete in my opinion. The sudden jump when the turbo kicks in could lead to someone bumping into a home. This is why I bought the mt100. That and the bobcat controls are all mechanical. And the mt100 is cheaper. Mt100 for the win in my opinion. Great video. Also the left joystick on the kubota is weird.
Bobcat mt100 is cheaper to maintain in the long run.. cost of ownership is very important too. i notices the joysticks on the kubota are pilot control, versus the bobcat are linkage control.. those joysticks with age on the kubota will leak or bypass internally
As solely a water feature install company, im certainly leaning towards the Mt100....Our Mt 52 that we've been using has been a Baby Beast for years. Ifvyou know what you're doing you can move some chunky stuff around and even set. We implement some mini ramps often to offset the weight...
I just bought a Vermeer 925, and the reazon why I went that direction is because I own a 725 it's been with me for 7 years and no problem at all, mini front loaders are money makers
I have a Ditch Witch SK1050 and SK800 with the 42 inch tracks. They have the smoothest ride and hydraulics. Literally have never had a problem with them and we use them every day. The 800 has 1,100 hrs and the 1050 has 900 hrs. Just keep up your maintenance.
I also have the SK 1050, bought it brand new in 2020 and never had a problem with it. My first choice was the Vermeer 100 but they were too corporate so I went with the Ditch Witch because they treated me like family. It’s all about building a relationship with your equipment dealer.
Scl1000 is a beast. I’ve tried the mt100, ctx100, dw1050, wacker sm120 and the scl1000 and decided to go with the Kubota. The best machine of them all! Can’t praise it enough.
James, have you looked at the Avant articulating loaders? I was just about to pull the trigger on a Vermeer wall behind and ended up with an Avant. Incredible machines
You aren’t seeing them in Australia because they are sending all of them to the US. We just started seeing them in Canada not long ago I think they were in US over 2 years now.
I’ve tested multiple mini skids back to back and between the mt100, sk1050 and the Vermeer, the Kubota is the best in many ways. It’s super fast, comfortable and capable. The turbo lag is non-existent, the engine is quiet and the controls are intuitive. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
I am buying a Dich Ditch sk800 next week for $32000 and $3200 a month used! I tried the scl1000 but the forward and reverse knob is not ergonomic for your wrist
Bobcat MT100 is tops followed by the Wacker Neuson SM100. The Kubota with the turbo lag, exposed Hydraulic Lines, cheaper pad on the step plate and higher price makes it a no go for me.
Great video! I wonder how the hydraulic flow rate in the Kubota holds up under heavy load compared to the MT100. Does the lower flow rate in the MT100 just mean that it has more toque compared to the SCL1000 or did Kubota figure out how to get more torque and flow rate?
I hear people complaining about the Kubota since it’s turbocharged when it’s not in boost is lags so it pretty much needs to be wide open when using any attachments
@@michaelmactavish4445 I haven’t received a quote yet, I am also located in Canada specifically Ontario, However I was under the assumption that the machine was about 50k without attachments.
Same, I had a dealer turn me away because “I’m not in their territory” . Crazy because they are the closest kubota construction dealer to me by over 30 miles. I’ve had other kubota equipment but the Bobcat dealers have been much better to work with, IMO.
The hose situation on the 1000 is not even a concern. If you have something that is going to rip a hose while operating. Then that should be least of your worries cause you will be way worse than that hose
I have a review of one on my channel rental company near me has them solid fast but very tippy if you run a small bucket going up hills with no weight it’ll tip backwards they need to make a counter weight of some sort or revise the machine
You were the first person to mention it’s tippy, and there’s a reason for both the front and back islands are raised by about 5/8 of an inch in the front back to make it easier to turn. We bought our site on scene we got two dingoes before and there’s no question in superior engineering. I’m going to other comments but The guys drove it off the trailer they said holy cow and it was by far a different stability factor unfortunately at 165 hours I had to sell it because it was that bad so I bought another dingo.
Scl1000 weight distribution across tracks is what puts it behind bobcat. 36 inch tracks and the narrowness sets it back. Unless you absolutely need it that way. Mt100 better floatation, lifting (due to track width/stabilization), maintenance, track design. Mt100 is best mtl out right now period. It’s got a kubota motor with bobcat frame. Unbeatable combo
Everyone I've talked too say they like it better than the dingo or bobcat and ditchwhitch. In my line of work that all we use is these types of machines
@JamesMoVlogs I personally would go with toro dingo. Bocat tracks suck and ditchwitch motors blow. If I couldn't get a dingo it would be a kobota. I have a rt50 asv and that thing is awesome but it is a smaller skidsteer with only 2.8 psi ground pressure. They make even smaller ones about the weight of your bocat. Rt20 Rt30 and Rt40.
I don’t think there is any other way to route those lines that you are complaining about considering the kubota has the vertical lift arms where the bobcat only has radius arms…that kubota is built way better than any mini track loader on the market by leaps and bounds!!..I just bought the 57 to replace my 55 and it is by far the nicest machine I have ever run..they aren’t even comparable when it comes to comfort and visibility and features!!..kubota has them all beat now and I’ve owned and run them all!!
@@JamesMoVlogs I had a Cat 302.7Dcr which was made by Wacker and it was a fine machine!…I was going to buy a CT65 but it didn’t have the power or lifting capability I was looking for!…the 60 Deere and Cat 306 would walk all over it but in the end I stuck with kubota!…very competitively priced and very reliable machines!..the biggest issue I had with Wacker is they are putting very small engines in their machines and running high rpm’s to achieve the hp ratings…that’s just not good!
Hi James. Great channel! 👍 Question: It seems you’re pivoting toward hardscaping. Was this always the plan? Is that what you were getting calls for? I noticed you started changing equipment to accommodate tighter spaces. I own a Kubota KX-033, A John Deere 72hp 12,000 lb tractor with loader and box blade, a 16ft dump trailer and walk behind plate compactor. I’m north of Los Angeles. I’m not sure where the money is and I’m looking for direction. I also do handyman, tree trimming and property maintenance work. Thanks James. 😊👍
Honestly I just went with the flow. I realized with smaller equipment I can fit anywhere and for that one job I need bigger stuff I call my buddies or rent for that job. I was turning away a bunch of work because my equipment was to big. And for the hardscape stuff my crew are top notch and I like doing more of the concrete/wall side of things. Way more money in ground up construction then just being that grading guy 😎👍
Thank you for your feedback James. You have some good points on equipment sizing that enables you to say yes to more of the smaller jobs. It seems that people fear their equipment will be too small when in reality a lot of jobs can have tight spaces. I think you have a good point that the more services you can offer on a single job site the more you can earn since you’re there to do five or more jobs instead of just one before needing to hunt down another job site to do only one task. I appreciate that you know what type of work you enjoy doing. Sometimes I think, “I can make money offering X service, but do I really like doing that type of work?” Thus it is a balancing act of combining the types of work we can get with the types of work that we enjoy. Thank you for sharing your work stories and advice on RU-vid. Your channel is a great encouragement to me. I’m also a filmmaker so if you ever need advice on cameras, lenses or lighting equipment just let me know. Your videos look great so please keep doing what you’re doing. Thank you James. Thank you Mo for being so supportive of James. 👍 Best wishes to you and your family. 👍😊
@@JamesMoVlogs Maybe. 😊 I need to make some money first so that I can pay John Deere and Kubota first. 😊 Do you plan on attending the Con Agg Expo in Las Vegas this year?
Mt100 is way more simple and stronger.... that pretty kubota is a hydrolic and electronic mess.... I own a tree service and hate when a stupid sensor on a pretty vermeer or kubota takes a crap... bobcat all the way if you're serious in the feild... just my 2cents on my experience with several mini skids... boxer units fall apart
