It's like two brothers fighting for the property and the younger brother seperates , now this will anger the elder brother and they will fight a lot in court etc . But eventually they will come to terms with each other when they will face external threat. They fight but are still essentially the same family. So, American war of independence is just younger brother being rebellious but when British were threatened by Germans they again come to terms with each other. This is the main reason why US has poor relationship with France etc. Because France belongs to different family which is not anglo-saxon.

You really need to do your research before believing that the U.S won complete independence from Britain...read the Treaty of Paris 1812 which lays out what thw U.S can or cannot do. Britain invaded after the revolutionary war of 1776 & burnt down the new capital ( philadelphia) and set up a new framework leading to 1812 Treaty...i bet u didnt know that New York was called New Amsterdam. Haarlem was a dutch settlement.
