How the heck did you get this so fast and before other youtubers? I have the Vive focus 3, and this is not a visual upgrade.

It would be interesting to know what you think of the lenses because the Q3 has excellent lenses that other manufacturers have been struggling to match in quality.

I wish people stopped being so critical over a select couple details. There's going to be sacrifices unless you want a $3k headset. I'm rocking a quest 2, but I want to upgrade to have face and eye tracking, without supporting a company that disrespects my data. Almost anything modern is going to be better than what I have now. Can we look at the good things? The XR elite got so much hate even if it did have pancake lenses. The only actual problem seemed to be the comfort and mic, and the head strap got upgraded later. Yet, it has such a bad reputation and no one recommends it even if I can't see any real criticism. Stop ruining everything.

Personally, as an Oculus Rift CV1 user, I pre-ordered this for the battery, decent battery life controllers, eye tracking and the face tracking (granted, I bought it thinking the face tracking addon was included as it doesn't say it is sold separately as devices usually do when showing something not included, like a new pc showing monitor in preview pics and says "*Monitor sold separately" at the corner if the image, had to confirm it with their support in which they said it needs to be bought on its own) besides that, I'm still excited, anything is an upgrade from rift cv1, and with this, I can take it to my relatives house to let them try VR, as the last time I brought a vr headset round to show them, I only had the Oculus Rift Dev Kit 1

How far can you move with the cable connected to the PC and head set

If this had the Quest 3 processor and Pancake lenses then would definitely buy but those features and $1000 just seems crazy. Feels like this headset came out a year or two too late. If you're purely buying this for PCVR then the Pimax Crystal Light seems like a better choice to me.

AHHHHH i dont like stand alone i prefer the light house system WHY cant they just make upgrade to that system :/ I got an idex after using a quest wirelessly with my pc and i just like the index better honestly and i just cant with all these stand alone i just wish they would make a new pc headset or new upgraded outside tracking i dont like tracking from the headset my hands would always get lost or not track properly... idk :/ whatever i guess

Stop buying Fresnel headsets people. You'll thank me later. The Vive Focus Vision is outdated and should no longer even be considered in the B2B market. Please don't start with outdated technologies. I'm telling you this from the heart as a VR enthusiast.

The Immersed new Visor XR headset comes with micro OLED pancake lenses (vastly superior in quality to the outdated LCD fresnel lense) display offering 4K resolution per eye for half the price asked price for this headset. It's nearly 2025, this headset definitely NEEDS a version with current micro OLED displays with pancake lenses as nothing else comes close, as the Bigscreen Beyond (costing about the same price you're asking) has proven with its best in class image quality. The current VIVE Focus Vision display spec they list sounds like 2016 display tech, so not worth the extra cost above Meta Quest 3, regardless of extra features, for PC gamers! If they want a place in the market, go for top end (OLED & pancake) & we will happily pay more than the price they're currently asking! Can the PLEASE also add an option to pay extra for VR gloves that support precise finger tracking (not just imprecise visual) with 8 button emulation by touching finger tips to thumbs & some forcefeedback ideally rather than clunky game controllers that put PC users off VR. I, along with those willing to spend enough to get a top of the range PC to make use of this headset properly, would be willing to pay a lot more for these features; true top of the range for consumer setup, rather than just a more expensive alternative to the Meta Quest 3!

Are the lenses in the Focus Vision still square shaped like the focus 3 and Vive pro 2?

i already have index controllers and 3.0 trackers will i be able to use those with this headset

Is it possible to connect a power cable with the displayport too, so that i can ignore the battery life if I use it as a PCVR headset?

Saying its 5k is kinda misleading, its 6MP per eye. Its quite high resolution but nowhere even close to 4k headsets like AVP that have over 12MP per eye.

Does it have access to an app store? Which one?

When you use the headset with display port, does it use power from pc or the battery like other standalone headsets when tethered ? Also, as it is a newer headset with Fresnel and not pancake lenses, do you feel like the pancakes are missing on this one?

When using it wired does the battery die still while plugged in to the pc?

My only issue with all of Valve's headsets really is software. Unfortunately unlike Meta, Valve isn't throwing buckets of money at devs to get more stuff on their platform

I'm still using the original Vive so this looks quite interesting, but I have a question please Otter. You said it can be used as a standalone headset, does that mean I can download games from my Steam library to the headset to play while it isn't tethered to the PC? Also, does it still need the lighthouses for it to track you or are the new Vive's past that technology now please? P.S. Love your thumbnail for this video lol.

The first Vive (2016) was designed 100% by Valve. This is the main reason why it was so successful. The rest of the products are generic and expensive.

It's not really a '5K resolution'. For starters, it's 4896x2448 combined, while 5K is 5120x2880. But... it's also VR, not flat screen. You don't combine the widths of the panels into a single screen. It's a 3D stereoscopic view of a 2448x2448 resolution, not a 2D monoscopic view of a 5120x2880 resolution. It's deceptive to advertise it as a 5K resolution.

is a cable the only option to connect to the pc? if so then its not mine... I only switched to the quest 3 using air link so i wont have to deal with cable systems anymore and it gives me a lot more freedom while being connected to my pc

This thing is dead on arrival. No OLED, no pancakes, and not gen gen2 snapdragon. This thing would've been a good competitor for the index in 2020, but not NOW
