Is the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey Worth it? (The Next Big Thing in Travel Cards)

The Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card is finally here! Recently Wells Fargo has released their first credit card with a special travel benefit and it is exciting news for travel enthusiasts. In this video I will be providing a Wells Fargo Autograph Journey review along with discussing the new Wells Fargo Autograph travel transfer partners. I look forward to see how Wells Fargo executes the new ability to transfer points to a travel partner.
I believe this is an overall plus for the credit card community although this isn't the best travel credit card out there. Today I will also go over some of the flaws of this card. Wells Fargo says that they will continue to expand their transfer partners list which will only make their program stronger. Will the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey compete against Chase and Amex? Is the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card worth it? We shall see.

I agree! Great card for those starting out, but if you have other travel cards like hotel cards, better to use those. All my Marriott purchases are going on a Marriott card!

Currently doing a deep dive on this card and I can't see how it would be worth it for me unless they add some better transfer partners to it. They aren't bad by any means, but nothing too enticing just yet. Great info here as always Chase! 👊🏼

I don't really see why you'd want the autograph and the autograph Journey. Most of the autograph categories are already covered on the journey.

Wells Fargo being the main investor of BILT really makes me optimistic of this cards future. I imagine they had a seat in the room as BILT was negotiating all of their transfer partners. So I’m wondering if we should stop comparing this to the CSP and Citi Premier and instead see if they take a page out of BILTs marketing ideas Thanks for the video

Interesting take on the comparisons to other credit cards. Wells Fargo proved that they could be a part of a solid credit card product (Bilt) so let's see where they take their own cards.

I think the 5x on hotels booked direct is potentially useful. For example, I would charge to the Marriott or Hilton cards for those stays that take advantage of their respective credits until they are depleted for the year. Then switch to the WF-AJ 5x on hotels to absorb the overflow if future stays are necessary and I'm not actively planning to earn or maintain hotel status.

My WF bank wasn't a specially selected WF so I'll be waiting 6 more days until 3/20 haha. I'm in the same boat as you for the multipliers. I have Marriott Brilliant for 6x and I have the CS Plat for 5x airlines or the United Club card for 4x United. I'd say if and when I cancel those cards, this card would be great long-term. But for now I'm just gonna get the SUB and then ditch it next year. (I do see the $0 AF Autograph as a better card for me). But looking forward to the other Autograph Beyond card, maybe that's the CSR to the CSP of WF?

TBF i think its more closely related to the CSP. Would the Venture X, CSP, CSR and this card all be considered budget amex platinums?

For an annual fee card the transfer partners don’t justify it along with the fact Wells Fargo has this weird set up for rentals. If you rent with their cards it only covers 15 days in the US and 31 outside of the US. Makes no sense.

👏🏽 im impressed. Thank you soooo much for this comment. I have played around with this video and a few others recently by not saying shootz at the end. I wanted to see if someone would say something about it. My video next week wont have shootz but ill start it up again after that one! I reallly appreciate you for bringing this up.
