I think the BOA premium rewards card is a strong A if you are Platinum Honors customer. The multipliers become 3.5 for travel, transit and dining, 2.625 for everything else with no FTF. If you get global entry 20 bucks a year plus the credit 100, you get $25 of positive value each year. Easy keeper card. It is just missing Primary CDW....
@CalbyNg

Oh for sure; prbly one of the easiest choices if you're a platinum honors customer.

I think as the year goes along, the Journey moves to A and the CSP moved to B if it gets the same partners as the Bilt card. The Premier should be a C level card for not having any kind of protections whatsoever...just my $0.02. Good stuff Calby.
@CalbyNg
@CalbyNg 5 месяцев назад
I could see that; especially if they can snag Hyatt & American Airlines. Maybe even an A+ if that does happen. Which would in turn lower the CSP's value proposition. Ohhhhhhh are you serious?! I never took too good of a look at the Citi Premier tbh, I've just been watching some videos here on RU-vid, but I've never noticed they didn't have many protections. I think at this point I just assume most travel cards have the standard travel protections. I guess I shouldn't just assume that, haha. Thanks Jon!

Big glaring absence- Bilt Rewards- should be S-Tier with 0 annual fee, points from rent, top tier transfer partners incl. AA, United and Hyatt, rent day double points and transfer bonuses, loyalty program... and more!
@CalbyNg
@CalbyNg 5 месяцев назад
Oh for sure; personally I actually don't much prefer mid-tier travel credit cards. I see more benefits from getting a premium travel credit card or a no annual fee travel credit card; as you don't need to "make spend" to make up for the annual fee. However in this tier list I wanted to compare cards that were really similar to the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey card, with an annual fee about $100, and that's why I didn't include the Bilt card in this video.

Now that the Altitude Connect card is eliminating the $95 AF, it's an S tier travel card.
@CalbyNg
@CalbyNg 5 месяцев назад
Definitely an interesting change; fewer benefits, more caps, and devalued points. However no annual fee; so there isn't a risk! It'll be even cooler if they kept the 4 priority pass accesses and the TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit. Now that would be game-changing!

@colinshi8247
@colinshi8247 4 месяца назад
I think there are several aspects of a transfer partner to consider. 1.) Value of currency in CPP 2.) Ease of earning the currency, either through flights/stays/shopping, buying points, or transferring 3.) award availability 4.) cancellation and change policy 5.) expiration policy and customer service.

@CalbyNg
@CalbyNg 5 месяцев назад
I see your point, but the CSP has slightly better travel protections, which is the reason to get these cards, and even though the multipliers are less if you can easily redeem and transfer the points to be worth more; then technically I see the multipliers being higher. I've never redeemed my UR points, for Hyatt, less than two cents per point; and many times I've been able to do redemptions of four cent per point without thinking about it. So yes the Chase Sapphire Preferred only earns 2x for travel, it could be 4%-8% back. However now that Wells Fargo has partners you can transfer the points out; and their points can be worth more, but all of the airline partners they have are international which means two things; usually requires more points and to book business class to see the true cent per point value. Then with alliance booking for domestic flights they tend to be very limited. So that's why I valued the Chase Sapphire Preferred slightly more. But I do agree with you that the Sapphire Preferred needs a refresh.

@@DaIton- Oh interesting, I'm also not entirely sure. I assumed it earned 2% cash back rather than 2x points; therefore, shouldn't count as a card with transfer partner access. However it could be the same situation as the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Flex.
