I am taking a short break from video and phone consults for the month of July due to an overwhelming amount of obligations and a big project at work... but here is a link to my calendar and you can schedule something in August or check back later: calendly.com/h...
The wig I am wearing is called Sparkle in the color Glazed Auburn R33/29S+. My review of this style is coming out soon, and if I can get my hands on the Elite version I will do a comparison! You can find this at Name Brand Wigs and the code DENISE30 will save you 30%: bit.ly/RWSpark...
Here is my Amazon Store where you can find ALL my favorite styling accessories including headbands (look in the Wig and Hair Styling Accessories list): www.amazon.com...
The place I purchased the headband I was wearing in the video is called Wander and Arrow, here is a link to her store, she sells out frequently but does new drops once a month and sends an email with a preview prior so sign up for those: wanderandarrow...

So true Denise. I have been wearing wigs for a year now and when I first started I was sure everyone was looking at me and thinking that is a wig and it looks terrible. It just took time and now I go out and often times I don't even think about my hair anymore. It is a great place to find yourself when that happens. May all the ladies on this journey find that place of confidence and assurance that they need.

Denise, I just wanted to say thank you for this- I don’t struggle from hair loss, I had brain surgery in 2019 in the front right side of my head. Back then I just wanted my hair to grow out long enough that I didn’t have to wear a wig to work more because of pressure it was applying than being self conscious but I was self conscious. I do remember a time that I ripped my hair off after work and then remembered that I need to run into a store so I parked and then grabbed my hair to put it on really quick only to turn around and see a grown man laughing. I was humiliated that day- but it was either put on my hair or have everyone stair at the 45 staples that held my head together. Fast forward to today- and I still struggle with a huge scar but I love having a choice of hair I want to wear today- Fir me, the only judgmental people is family who don’t understand the physiological effect my scar has. But I have had strangers ask me where I get my hair colored when I wear JR shaded peach. It is a journey. I wish everyone could tell their stories as well as you did. Thank you so much!

Blessings and Gods Love to such a beautiful soul. I watched my hair fall out in my twenties after my c-sections. No one would listen to me. As the years went on it became worse and then I faced a divorce as a Christian woman who didn't believe in going that way. One morning I woke up and my hair had fallen out by the thousands all over white sheets. I knew it was the end of hate wearing and I have a professional job. Now retired and working for no charges at estate issues for people and a certified grief counselor, I still need to look right. I struggled with cheaper wigs and looked awful and that was really true. I bought Luna recently moving from mid-length EW wigs to her longer one and it looks awful because I just can not style her. I may try some headbands but I am so disappointed because of the expense and the expectation. My Girl Mono is done and have a Bernstein rooted put away but the color is not me. So two new wigs and tried the secondary market and I suppose they expect me to give them away. I took 75$ off already. I am Canadian so you know I have an exchange plus duty and taxes at the border. I love NBW for giving me their best price but losing 2 wigs is just a mess financially. I browse the RU-vids to see if there is something I can do with these girls but I think it is what it is. I need to get smarter. I know I have to wear a wig to leave the house or work with people. I don't have an alternative. So Denise...I am just tired. I am sure there are lots more of me out there. I try to work with other companies but honestly, I can't find any other than NBW. it is just expensive and better to have a few good ones than a lot of cheap ones that I know look awful. But I thank you if you read my Friday ramblings It has been a long week. In the name of our Lord. Diane

I was so nervous to start wearing wigs. Start small, go to the grocery store first. You'll notice that nobody looks twice. Then venture out more and more. Wear your wig band so you feel your wig is secure. It gets easier and easier. Luckily I have a hairdresser who is great at trimming my wigs to suit me better. Now it's nothing to toss a wig on and go out. Baby steps.

I personally think you have the most beautiful eyes and smile but most importantly such a bubbly real personality. I’ve watched many of your vids and will be calling you in the future but for now I want to tell you - everything you mentioned I suffered with too BUT because I see you exuding so much confidence and shifting the mindset from pretending the wig is your bio hair to embracing the different wigs as a fashion statement and reflection of my mood or vibe… because of your mentorship on this channel that period of discomfort for me was just a few weeks! My wig could fall off in the store or on the street and I would just laugh, shake it off and put it back on. All my confidence is from watching wig sisters on youtube. Thank you for your vulnerability and compassion. You have done so much for me. I’m truly grateful for you.

There are so many women wearing wigs now. Never get rid of a wig that you think doesn’t work. In a year when you have the skills and confidence you will rediscover it, work it, and love it. I’m wearing human hair now and finding it quick, easy, and long lasting. For me long wigs need to be HH.

Just precious and absolutely beautiful inside and outside. You truly are special. I am sorry you had & continue to suffer with health issues. Praying for you. You have helped so many people beyond the ones you know. Love the wig and color for you. The scarf style is a great idea. Been watching you for some time and have learned very much. Your stories ring so true & bring me to tears. I no longer have anyone around for feedback. Some how one after another either passed away or disappeared from my life. As a women, girl etc… nothing is as helpful as that second opinion person you totally trust. As a result, I have not worn a wig out yet nor kept trying it on to be hopeful of making any better.

Very nice message Denise. [Quote: Not ready to see myself that way.] So true. My husband loves them, he's just looking at me. I too have been hypercritical. For me, I don't look at me, I compare them to my bio hair because I really loved my bio hair. Not dream hair, just beautiful naturally light blonde hair. Jean Harlow Platinum until 4th grade and light golden since. A very rare color only Jon Renau human Remy has managed to blend. So acrylics have been a compromise until I scored JR, my color less than half price. It really is a journey. A new phase in life and we'll only get there if we never give up. ❤

Thank you so much Denise. Thanks to you I have started putting clips on my wigs and bobby pins to give them a little style. It really help to make them feel more my own and help me feel more like myself. I have been wearing wigs for about a year. It really is a learning curve. At first I didn't wear them everyday at work. It took me awhile to get used to it. It also takes awhile to see which styles I prefer and what colors. Thank you so much for your moral support. 🥰

I love that you share so much of your experience. I don’t know what it’s like to lose your bio hair either in part or total but I do know what it’s like to want different hair. I grew up in a family where everyone of my sisters had thick and beautiful hair. They were so pretty and I was the ugly duckling. I had and still have thin fine hair. There were no cuts or styles that made my hair look big or better. For years I had perms to try to add volume. I see those old pics and kind of feel ashamed about how I felt about my hair and about me because of my hair. I am struggling with alternative hair now. The size and shape of my head really keeping a wig on really challenging. Because I still have bio hair I feel unsupported by friends and family that I share my hair story with. I just want to say thank you for what you do and how you do it. Bless you.

I am learning so much from your videos and admire your choice to be positive and upbeat in spite of things you have/are going through ❤️ you are a beautiful person inside and out and it shows. I was surprised to hear about your struggles because you look beautiful in every wig you put on. You have come a long way to be a force for good in this community! I had a lot of misfires in the beginning because I didn’t realize that you get what you pay for. That’s not a hard and fast rule, though, because you, Denise, can do a lot with a little. Most of my tears were from my frustration from trying to hide enough of my scalp to feel halfway decent in front of people. When I had watched enough videos and actually made a purchase of a name brand wig, the world changed for me. It hasn’t been all a bed of roses, but I’d certainly never voluntarily quit wearing them. They are gifts I give to myself.

Though I've been a wig wearer for 15 years, I had never branched out beyond a few favs. I have learned SO MUCH that I NEVER KNEW about styling, trimming, modifying wigs... & just wanted to THANK YOU for the education that your videos have provided. I am only now starting to "branch out" a bit beyond my standbys! Ongoing challenges include finding colors that complement my skin tone...and finding a longed- for-BOB style that doesn't make my round/ short face look heavier. I was SURPRISED to hear you say recently that you rarely wore Blonds...because some of my FAVORITES for YOU have actually been several of the sleek Bob styles in very cool/ very Blond shades!!! (It was quite a surprise to me as I would have been inclined to choose for you something in the brunette spectrum, given your coloring. My education (& experimentation) continues Again Thank You ...be Well!

I agree at first it feels so out of place but styling is the answer. After awhile I really loved how the wigs made me look younger and pretty. I had an issue of when I did not wear a wig and it gets hot where I live .those wide headbands are a blessing. I cut my hair short in Back and have about a4 inch top that I pull up like light socket styling behind the band I wear this style around the house everyday and don't feel so awful when I pass a mirror. The wide bands are colorful and if they feel to tight I cut them and put a piece of wide elastic in the back if I feel to squished in. Also on our journey with wigs all do not fit great I watched how to make a wig larger and with a couple of them that felt tight it worked and comfort level was better. This is a journey worth taking just takes a little time. When you have lots of hair how many times do you go to the stylist for a new do and it is not the vision you had. Wigs are the same play with them and who cares what others think it's you who needs to feel good about you. And don't forget the makeup everything looks better with our blusher and mascara. Make the journey fun.

I can’t say I’m afraid of other people knowing that I’m wearing a wig because I don’t leave my house - EVER , but I can tell you that I am constantly told that I look ridiculous by whom you may ask, ( My Husband )…😢 how to do handle this ? After 35 years of marriage and I want to leave. I’m not kidding, I honestly just want to be by myself. To be happy again !! Sorry, you got me at a bottom less pit day. I apologize everyone that reads this. It just came out !!!

Wow, this was so sad to read. Your spouse should be supporting you, not denigrating you! Hope you take some steps to be yourself. You deserve it.

Wigs are much easier than dealing with my own natural hair. My real hair tangles up so bad. Wigs are nice n easy. 😅 i don't take it all so seriously. It's only fake hair. U wanna wear it, wear it. U don't wanna wear it, don't. ❤

One of the most important things you can do on your days on earth is to let people know they are not alone, especially in midst of your own suffering. -God’s blessings on you always-🙏🏻

I hope to get to that place. I feel like all my wigs look wiggy right now. I’ve been wearing for 2 yrs. Was initially confident and now I just cant seem to be comfortable in one.

That happened to me as well! It was a huge struggle in the beginning (first 6 months or so)... then it got a little easier, then suddenly I went backwards again and was struggling. It was definitely a roller coaster. I still sometimes have trouble... on those days I reach for a hat wig or a headband wig OR I grab a long wig I can put into an updo and that helps a lot. Sending you huge hugs!!! If you ever need someone to talk to about this, even just to vent or get validation for how you feel from someone who understands, I am here! Here is a link to my calendar and I would love to talk with you either via video or phone: calendly.com/heywigsister

You are beautiful. My journey is lifelong hair loss, first hair pulling then stress alopoeca. I've worn toppers since I was 18. I'm 78 now and still wearing glorious custom european hair toppers and loving it. Why isn't everyone going to wigs and toppers. Gosh. girls and boys, AI is taking over humanity. Who gives a darn if you wear a wig. My problem with wigs is my face shape. As long as I keep growing hair in front, I can comb over a topper. I need volume at the top, not the crown, lthe front of my forehead. A sexy side part with high front turning into a dip, like Marilyn Monroe. I have not found a wig that has a high front. The movie wigs are so real they are glued to the forehead to look like it's growing from the hairline. I would like that. You have a perfect oval face and can wear any style. I cannot wear bangs, or part my hair in the middle, etc. I'm shaped like a pear. Need volume at the top and sides.

I just feel like I buy then but don't want to wear them. Id rather have my own hair. Still maybe in shock over hair loss. I also worry that people will find my hair odd if it keeps changing shape or color

Thank you so much for this video, dear Denice. 💐🌹💐 What you said, is just what I experienced… and experience! 😢 I haven’t bought a wig yet, because it is too much for me to just THINK about me having a wig on, and be over warm wearing the wig… OR it will fall off…!😢😮 I don’t have a car, and I am always going by bike, or walking! In rain and snow!!🌧️⛈️💨🌦️And sunshine ☀️ 😊 How can I wear a wig then?? I am alone, my grown up children are far away, and I have no friends at all. Only those I say “ hey” to on my walks with my big dog. 😊 But I am a Christian, and Jesus Christ is my Lord. And to live with Jesus Christ every single day, gives me hope and courage ❤ May God bless you Denice for helping us with hair loss! ❤❤❤ THANK YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE!! You are so kind and BEAUTIFUL!! 😊 Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐

most of the time nothing.... to be honest I was super self conscious when my hair was longer so I always wore a baseball cap at home, but after I buzzed my hair off with a clippers my who outlook changed and now I am fine with just walking around with my buzzed head.... it took me a YEAR to get up the courage to do it, and my husband was not on board at first... but now he rubs my head all the time and doesn't mind it at all. I have a whole video series on this topic, here is a link: bit.ly/BuzzingMyHair sending you hugs!

@@heywigsister But your face shape looks cute with short hair. I would look like my dad! Not a good look (my OLD dad). So not only my lock s but my feminity & trust me, My husband would treat me even worse than he already does! I would leave if I could.
