Is Theodore Bruckner Any Good in Patch 5.0? - Legendary Hero Unit Focus 

It's irrelevant if he is good or not to me. He does backbreakers on orks. He is going in the army

People be like "he has to die for his ability to work so he's bad" yea, if he doesn't kill what he's fighting when he dies, everything around him dies. How is that not insane.

Thanks for covering him. I hope more people will appreciate him for his niche instead of only looking at what army bonuses he gives. Only other good melee beat stick in the Empire is Franz so it's nice to have another option as a hero.

For me he’s one of the most fun to use duelists or monster killers while mounted. He has great speed and burst buffs to his damage so he can melt key targets so well. I think his attack animations work super well on fleeing opponents too.

I also see that he's also a pretty good bodyguard to characters like Franz and The other more squishy lords in the roster if they are together with a Griffin Mount particularly if it is Toddy on the Griffin You can have a really good passive fear bomb effect To route units quite effectively.

I feel like he becomes a little more squishy in sustained combat when mounted on Reaper. Especially when surrounded by enemies, which I suppose makes sense considering once mounted, it shaves off 10 points in melee defense. I would suggest equipping him with Trickster's Helm as that would provide him with +5 melee defense, and 10% more ward save, as well as +2 armor, but then again he doesn't need that much armor. You can also replace his unique enchanted item, Stormlance with Van Horstmann's Speculum to add an additional +5 melee defense. It also comes with the ability to reduce the melee defense and attack of surrounding enemies by -24, as well as a -30% to their base weapon damage, which would be pretty helpful for Bruckner whenever he's surrounded and fighting masses of enemies.

Just saw the video again- I feel bad for Scarbrand- Bruckner will demolish him with all of his abilities activated. And Temurkhan will get utterly erased from existence.

Appreciate the breakdown. My only criticism is how many hoops you have to jump through to unlock him. At the very least id like him unlocked for Elspeth from the start. Very satisfying to see a human absolutely body horrors and creatures that usually terrorize man.

I think he's good. Even when he dies he usually takes a bunch of enemies with him. Plus, I could watch him do backbreakers all day lol ❤

Everyone who thinks he's bad just have their heads broken from seeing so much powercreep and overpowered stuff in the game that to them, anything that isn't absolutely broken is trash in their eyes.

Bruckner is an absolute duel beast , I put helm of dominator on him and he absolutely wrecks Vlad when I finally have to fight VC. Bruckner was lvl 18 and Vlad was 15. Edit: I mean helm of discord. Idk why I said helm of dominator.

Yeah, He is really good. Just not as busted as some other legendary heroes. Saytang, Naryska, and Kayzk have a 3rd skill line containing army buffs. Bruckner lacks this skill line. But at least He has a nice beard (for a manling).

I think he's pretty fun to use but I've barely had a chance to play him. Since the update I've played Elspeth twice and didn't unlock him until after turn 75 or so. I just wasn't using much cavalry in my armies. But I do want to play a more melee/cavalry heavy Franz campaign so I bet he'll get a lot more use.

Problem with him is I think his executioner is bugged, I played a couple of battles got heroes bellow 20% health went to combat and didn't activate. Broke them and chased them out of the map for like 30 seconds and didn't activate. I've never seen the ability activate and I tried a couple of times

There's an inaccuracy in the video. Hand of judgement only applies when there's a lord or hero nearby so unless a hydra is next to a lord or hero it cannot be used to execute one

Very nice breakdown

The problem with bruckner is he takes just too much dmg from mass amounts of infantry and he is a high threat so the name of the game becomes getting him to enemy characters without him getting bogged down. Certainly not impossible but he becomes a micro sponge so you need to account for that. Also he needs a mass and hp buff.

So, he's not a beatstick capable of going toe to toe with beatstick legendary lords, but he's still pretty strong.

i think he should have still his sword and also a shield (or maybe a battle axe like in one of his icons) instead of a lance when on his mount cause this would make him a more tanky frontliner who can stay in battle and not shock cav. which also would fit to his great on foot version better... dk why they chose to give him a lance...

He's a bit tough to get, when I play as Elspeth, ironically enough, but darn if he isn't fantastic. All these Legendary Heroes are worth having, or very good. I'm almost worried about oversaturation, but they're nonetheless excellent. Empire Legendary Hero tierlist when? No no, I'm joking. There aren't quite enough of them just yet to make that a particularly long video, unless it were folded into a larger Hero list. Even then, it's kinda moot. They're all for different things. He does at least give me a reason to recruit Demis though. I rarely do. I just don't care for them, never have. I just finished a Wulfhart campaign, funnily enough. It's good, but I also didn't get any Elector Count units the whole time, possibly because I rushed the tech that grants extra reinforcements from home, which might have replaced them? Very odd stuff. Gotta say, though, the Huntsman General probably needs a look. That all said, I think Bruckner kinda makes the argument for a Demigryph Mount option for Empire Generals (or, eventually, Grandmaster Lords, eh? EH?) and Empire Captains. Empire Captains currently feel wasted if not in the air, but you also kinda want them with your cavalry (if only for thematic purposes), but they're just not as good as with a Pegasus. So... Demigryph mount! Ah well, maybe some day.
