I’m afraid I’m struggling to accept Wais Islam as a sincere candidate. The _waffle factor_ in that interview seemed very high. To claim that… _you haven’t heard of me because I’m not on social media_ is very weak and, even if true, is not a position that a serious politician would hold. It smacks of a *divide-and-rule* stitch-up and, since it touches on Starmer you can bet that Akehurst is somewhere in the background. Of course, I could be mistaken.

It’s really disappointing that this is happening. Feinstein is the best candidate who has the best chance to teach Starmer a lesson. I am really glad that Independents are standing but I think where there are more than one, they should get together on an agreed set of policies and one should withdraw, otherwise the votes will be split and that will only be to the benefit of the Labour frauds....

Well done, Crispin. I wouldn't trust any candidate who deals with being questioned by trying to shout down the questioner. It's a sign that Wais knows his position is weak and his only way to "win" the argument is to shout over anyone else. We all know Andrew Feinstein to be a deeply principled man with excellent credentials, who also has the public profile to challenge Starmer both locally and in inthe "mainstream". I can see him beating Starmer - I can't see this guy managing that. Also, if Wais was serious about standing months ago, why did he not put himself forward to OCISA's selection panel to be considered to be their endorsed candidate? Deep respect to Amar for being the bigger man and standing aside in his constituency. I'm rather disappointed in George Galloway deciding to try to stand so many candidates. I don't really think it helps to have another "broad church" or single issue party joining the fray. I'd rather see a coalition of local independents, standing up for their own constituents' needs and demonstrating cooperation both in the election and in Parliament.

George Galloway said not all independents are independent. They are fronts to split the anti Labour vote.
