Is There A Skill Gap in EAFC 24? 

The biggest skill gap is taking corners and crosses. There are people who can consistently finish a header from a corner. I get 11-14 wins every week but i cannot score a header from a corner or a cross if my life depended on it.

I love my defenders offside line. There is always that one mf who is just running with the opponent player leaving the rest of the defenders a way back behind him.

Ea fc is the most assisted game ever. Not only it adjust the difficulty to help you or against you, but you can even tell when the goal will happen and if the opponent is bad in shooting, the game will make it happen, either your gk will stamble or kick it and rebounds to go in.... Ea still has huge control who should win and who should lose

The skill gap is tightening as well. The only positive I’ll say is they nerfed skill moves this year so it defo knocked those spammers down a tier which is refreshing.

there is one mechanic in this game no one ever complains about and to me its what kills the game for me, its the people who just hail mary tackles no timing nothing just RB+B and theg get tackles no foul ever whether its attacker or defender not to forget if by the off chance someone misses a tackle they can just tackle instantly again

div 9, first match dude was doing cutbacks, finesse shots and using meta players, legit felt like i was playing someone from div1, DIVISION 9.

Having played Fifa games from 1997 I can stay imo there is a skill gap still there in FC 24. The problem is since Fifa17 its been getting smaller and smaller to appease new/poor players. Fifa17 for me was the pinnacle of Fifa, yes it still hd its flaws and metas but if you were the better ball player, triggering runs, seeing passes, using 2nd man press, manual defending and playing fast fluent 1-2 football you were rewarded 99% of the time. Now Id still say that is the best way to win still, however the metas and tactics added by EA have killed it, I honestly believe they leave them in the game on purpose so everyone finds it easier to defend and easier to score goals. And the AI attacking movement is absoloutly terrible, but if Fifa17 and previous Fifas the AI actually mate smart runs into space, now they run down blind alleys, they hide behind defenders, but then to make it worse AI defending, remember if an AI player made a run. You would have to switch to the correct defender, follow the run with your CONTROLLED player while simultaneously doing a 2nd man press to the ball carrier, and then if the pass isnt made you can quickly switch to the presser and tackle. Now all this is almost done automatically. The balance between attacking AI and defensive AI is so far off. Remove drop back Remove constant pressure Fix AI attacking movement Reduce AI defending significantly Remove goalkeeper movement. These simple things would improve Fifa so much but removing this increases the skill gap ten fold and EA are scared to do that to retain the poorer players and make money off them in FUT. Rant over 😂

I’ve been playing ut since FIFA 14 and have just left the game, deleted it, I think there’s no hope. Trying to give support to you in hopes the game get better, keep it up.

Bro, i was qualified for fut champ, and my first game was horrible!!! My passing was not going to the player i passed it to. My opponent fell over my defender, and that was a foul r penalty. I had 20 game to play, and when i lost the first one because of that, i gave the next 19 opponent a win cause I can't play against them and cheating game. Im sick of this game, and ea!!!! How can my opponent that a shot the ball hit my goalkeeper, then ball is infront of my goalkeeper bt instead of kicking away the ball my keeper decided to take it time and get up when the opponent is rushing in to goal the goal.... make it make sence!!!!

The funniest/saddest part about attacking AI is that they added player locking in the game out of necessity

I believe EA is not fine tuning the game on purpose because they want to maximize the profits. I mean they could benefit from always making your team needing improvements so you could buy FIFA points and try to pack the best cards in game. For example, R9 is on whole different level in terms of AI movement compared to other strikers in game including icons.

I really miss the attacking AI we had in 17 man. Logical you can't attack from the middle cause there is almost no movement at all. It's crazy how they still haven't boost the attacking AI yet. That's the most important thing why the previous games are so boring. We need some freaking movement up front...

Even with 99 pace the players get caught up by the defenders in this game... i cant even qualify for fut champs anymore , where in the previous fifa's it was easy... did i got worse from fifa 23 to this game i dont think so... its something in this game i cant describe,it fells like playing a final boss on the hardest difficulty in every match, pure pain... great video,all the best ❤

I conceded 6 yesterday coz my players love being bad at tackling Note that before then i had conceded 4 in 5 matches, then all of a sudden...every tackle gives the attacker a beautiful ball😢😢

The worst of it all that I the game play is slow and is so boring cause nobody wants to do anything else besides running a long the line and cut back after cut back. It is so boring. And then I go to squad battles to try to have fun and guess what the cpu does all the time run along the line and cut back hahah. I could not believe I had to take a double look and for a moment cause I really thought I log in rivals again. Is crazy sad

I think the skill gape comes in when you become really good like Tekkhs but beside that anyone can beat anyone , the game is really assited and his rewarding for example those spamming the runs on the wings to cutbacks , thats crazy how i got some games where the guy just runs on the wings , i mean really just doing that . Even though i was wining i did not have playing against someone just doing that

i was elite division in previous fifas, now im stuck in div 5. I just dont get it. I remember i went to div 1 with a 50k starter team in fifa 22, it’s absolutely impossible to get further now without having some top tier ai to help u create chances. I still manage to get 11 wins, (used to get 14), and win 4/4 drafts if i have a beast team.

Man, I'm not good at all, but div 4 and 5 are pure hell! In fifa 22 I was always in div 2 or 1, now I'm just stuck there.

Used to go 16-4 and 22-8 since fifa 19 now I can't even get 10 wins in the WL because I cannot bring myself to play constant cut backs and wing plays it makes me want to die every weekend

Skill gap definitely narrowed. Last fifa23 i am able to get into elite every season. And i will only meet decent opponent at least at div 1. However, in eafc24, i would encounter so called elite level skilled player as early as div 4. It can only explain the skill gap narrowed due to the change in game play.

Skill gap exists and it's big. If you wanna be good in Fifa or any other game you should spend years of gameplay but even more gameplay time will not guarantee you 20:0, because gameplay in this game is horribly inconsistent. One hour you can win every single rat like a pro but other time you can lose every game 4:3, 5:6, 2:3 and it burns you alive. If you have personal life, work, study you will never be able to get 20:0 every game because you're playing this game for fun(ofc if you're job is not playing fifa) I ain't learning these ball roll scoop turns or perfectly timed reverse elasticos and green timing. I hate it with a passion. I'm playing this game for fun, not for becoming more toxic. I'm just playing Squad Battles and 7 games of rivals in 4th division and doing objectives for completing my UT. And sometimes when i say I'm in 4th divisions some guys even laugh at me like "you're loser" I think these guys shoud touch some grass

Had to turn this shit off yesterday before I torched the entire house! No matter what I done I just couldn’t get a win and was losing to players who were hitting the controller with their full head.

There was a huge skill gap for me. I don't play Meta. Even remotely. I'm decent at mechanics now, but learning to play how they want me to play has been difficult. I like build up through my mid field, heavy possession type shit. With attacks out to the wing throughout the game to keep my opponents guessing...but between my opponents not having to guess because their VVD somehow steps in the block my green timed shot... while they can't even get their player switch right... or how Eusebio, Mbappe or a blocky turning Holland doesn't know how to lose the ball when tackled or being forced to play a game of defending cut backs has been the migraine of my existence. Sidenote: I deliberately play with ass players because i believe skill should be the deciding factor, not whether you can spam mechanics. I lose quite a bit and know my choice of play definitely plays a part, but I also know every win I do get was based on my skill, and not because I'm running a team of icons through Div 8 😢

The game has taken a weird direction. I like to manually defend and if I try to use gold Militao & manually defend, the ball will bounce from his feet & go back to my opponent on 85 % of tackles. But, if I use VVD or Maldini, I don't even need to put any effort, the AI takes care of it. Every year, the game becomes more AI and less manual.

I actually hate grinding divisions, cuz there’s no point in wanting to try something new and have fun if everyone in this stupid game is going to just abuse the same 4 moves. (I’ve spent over $100 in packs for UT)

There is such a small skill gap this year when it comes to players between div 6 and 2, but the players in div 1 and elite are much better and the players in div 10 to 7 are worse. The reason the skill gap is so small is because there is so much dda in the matches and the game is super assisted, it’s also so hard to determinert If players are good or not. Some players play 5 back and keep the ball and when they go forward the only thing they do is run down the line and play a cutback. It is also so much easier to play with a good team in fc 24 than all the other Fifa’s

I play my friend who is better than me and beats me every time. But the games normally start with me going a few goals up and then him using controlled dribbling and skill moves in order to beat me. I am better at the base mechanics of the game but he knows how to take advantage of a mechanic I don't know how to defend against

yes it's skill gap but once you've passed Div4, it's complicated. Try defending with a non meta defenders against the likes of Mbappe, Eusebio when they press after possession lost. It's madness. Even if you timed your tackle correctly, they'll just bounce back to them because they have high composure and reaction stats. So easy to concede in that scenario because your team just starting to move forward to attack but their players are already facing forward when you won and instantly lost the ball

I just bought FIFA 24 and i got a good team and I'm in div 9 2 wins away from div 8 and the teams i go against are the best teams i have ever seen I've been hardcore stuck at this division and cant get out of it I'm div 9 and its sweaty as hell

Last wl, i pulled WW Pele out of a pack and went 8-2 in my qualifying games. After that i got completely fucked and stood at 4-12 after 16 games. This has to be the most frustrating game of all time.

The attacking AI and the interceptions and auto defending are out of hand . It’s like a different game when you play with expensive players too ,I packed Bobby Charlton and he genuinely scores 99% of his shots even compared to hero upgrade Keane and Di natalie. Packed Cafu in the icon pack as well and he literally intercepts everything, I’ve gone from 12 wins to 16 wins the last 3 weeks since packing these players lol

im good at doing everything like corners, free kicks, penalties, crossing etc all of the main features but somehow can still not win for the life of me against anyone in champs playoffs i cant qualify even with mbappe usually it's because i lose and my opponent has insanely lucky goals or is untouchable for some reason

idk why but for me the mechanics that i abuse the most, my opponents barely used it at all. If u knew how to use it, the fifa 23 powershot was SO GOOD! if i could green my shoots i would be scoring from 30-20 yards with no problem everytime, but this year the powershot got quite nerfed, because its f$@king impossible this year to create place, you cant do a powershot whitout blanc and vvd jumping on you at once, but this year something that is faster, is the trivela, just try it, and green time your shoots for maximum abusement. the trivela this year is godly. it saved me so many times just shooting from distance whitout barely creating a chance

i have been extremely fortunate with my pack luck this year i have a 20 smth mil team thunderstruck dinho , gullit , jairz , garrincha etc . i been playin wl today n i knew from the kickoff or from my first chance creation that i was gonna loose this game and so i did . i green time every shot i dont abuse mechanics i dobt player lock i dont run down the line cut back for 90 minutes , i dont play 5 back, i just play whats closest to fast flowing football and i green my opportunites and still i would say 3-4 out of 10 clear cut chances i wont score but othrr 7 will

What I hate about the metas is that in these games they are the only way to win. If you don’t abuse the meta you can’t consistently win in the higher divisions. Making the meta overpowered is one thing. But making it the only way to play is far too much. At least make it so the meta is beatable or completely remove it

even though I despise EA these mechanics are easy to play against if you think 2 or 3 steps ahead so I see no issue with people abusing mechanics... I say this not because I abuse it myself i'm a very possession based player good luck seeing the ball and beating my front pressure so I reinstate I have no issue with some players abusing these mechanics.

there are always skill gap, but like u said, ea creating skill gap from all of the non-football related aspect. The game feels closer to NBA 2k fuse wit street fighter than an actual football game

I would say there is a skill gap as long as two players play the game normally but there are too many easy mechanics an tactics to tighten the skill gap. It's weird but i do far better against really good players this year than against someone that doesn't use his brain at all and just spams the meta. A part of that problem is on me tho because I need at least a bit of fun and enjoyment to perform to my level.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with parking the bus It’s just that the attacking AI is so horrible that only two players are making runs against 10 defenders In pes, you can go full defensive and still easily concede a goal because the opposition AI made incisive runs and proper buildup

Nerfing VVD will be a great start to widening skill gap. VVD is a player for ptw that cant defend.

im in division 3 as of last night and its an absolute sweat fest, youve got to concentrate on every game, you literally have to manually move everyone to where you want them, switch off for one second and you are going to get punished, if you want to stop the cutbacks, keep your own midfielders out wide to absolutely nullify that space

There is legit no skill gap because of DDA went from 8-2 in champs qualis against some noobs who cant play to 1:6 in literally 1 week because the gameplay and dda got so much worse

Skill gap is fake. I’m div3 with gold players started 3 weeks ago. People in these divisions are just abusing glitches. They don’t play football, they just run, spin and abuse unrealistic skills moves. I’m out here tryna play from the back with Rodri Dias Bernardo and Odegaard and I can’t because some random fkg card can’t take the ball without timing the interception

I got a PS5 and played the PS4 demo version (but didnt realise it was for the PS4) and got use to the speed of the game. I then played the PS5 version and was like wtf happend to this game. PS5 version is slow as hell. So i eneded up buying the PS4 version & not playing the PS5 version.

Skill difference may be on how u see field. How u control def. Control running man. Etc. now skill its how u can turn off ai. Old fifa has problem to. But its 1 reason. Air Trough balls. 1 thing. But ea reduce speed the ball and players who receive the ball. Than ea reduce all passes in the game and added couple ai corections passes. Nice work to make gameplay unxpectble. Ia so slow. Even u use manual overlap. Sometimes u even cant play 1-2 pass combo cause ai not understanding that hi need to run forward. No team speed in fifa. Why? Its not pro or realism. Its simply casual priority game. Arcade. For who no have a reaction can play and pay) Arcade isn’t bad thing. But when we have from 1 side overload physical mechanics and passes overdose countity. And controversial low skill broken mechanics from other side. For who is that game? Nerds? No Casuals? No. Fifa must choose side. Now its arcade with rudimental pro mechanics.
