The reason the pull cord feels funny is that it has easy start. It winds up a spring with your pull then pops it all at once. If you try to start it like your arm is broken (pull like you can't start a saw without decomp) and it will start easy.
I ported the intake and exhaust on one of these and it runs even better. 50.1 ratio all the time. Cut the rakers down on chain and it will really cut. Also the pull start is a easy pull if you pull it hard it wont start pull it easy and it works everytime.
I am new to chainsaws, just bought a clone, and have no idea what you just said 😂. Mine runs great so far. $69, 58cc, 20 inch bar. It's also 25.1. Would be cool to have a video on what you just described. Upgrade or whatever 😅.
i've scratched my Cornea fuckin 2 times in the past 3 months doing treework, and here's Jacob who NEVER wears safety glasses doing full removals getting facefuls of sawdust, and then he doesn't even wear glasses grinding chain! i wish I had your luck Jake!
yeah, I literally have a brand-new pair of safety glasses on my face at all times. Because why not, I try to prevent things from happening if possible. I stopped working for this guy, because he never cared about safety he would literally flip out on me and call me a pussy because I wanted to tie a latter off when we were roofing a house. He said it would take to long, "your not going to fall'. Okay bud no buddy has ever fallen off a latter. Or working on electrical receptacles, I wanted to turn off the breaker. He once again flipped out on me. I said, 'well I'm not doing it then". Didn't have my multimeter on me, like who knows they could have it wired to 240v or worse ( I know unlikely) But you cant tell me that has never happened. Its not worth it. Especially when at the time I was making 15 bucks an hour. I will take calculated risks but only if I'm doing the calculations myself.
@@JakePlisskin12 I now work in Bulgaria doing construction/renovations, here in Bulgaria safety is not the number one priority, I do quite often have my concerns but just decide not to care, I am an 18y/o apprentice but I work with some guys who I trust my life to, especially a British guy who I work with is very involved with me doing sh1t safely. A few days ago we where working on a roof wherefrom the highest point was about 5-6 meters but there was no safety sh1t, if you slipped you’d slide down the boards and would have to be lucky to grab a crack between them if you don’t wanna kiss the ground. As you can see by this comment I lucky got down alive but it was my first time actually being on the roof of a house and that was quite scary. I normally am not to scared of risks and heights, I’ll even climb trees 5+ meters without being secured but on a roof there is little grip so it’s quite scary. My point is: Dangerous stuff will always be dangerous but only if you are uncomfortable doing dangerous things will they become more dangerous
Never never put used oil in a 2 cycle it will kill it. Use oil has flanks. Also don't use bar oil either it good weed killer water down in. Sprinkler can .
Yes, that is the reason for it. If you are using 2 cycle oil, 50:1 is universal and will work for pretty much anything. My 066 runs on C12 race fuel, so I mix it at 32:1 (half a bottle of dominator oil to a can of C12). Everything else get’s 50:1.
And why wouldn’t you? 120 bucks for a bit of fun! And if it blows up, or a stick falls on it, its a lot less of a headache then when that happens to a 500I for example.
@@PimSchouten500 really don't break down often from my experience I have five of them three of them for 4 years old to or 2 years old I've never had a problem yet with them
Hi. I've owned and worked on several of those Chinese saws so first, on many saws the small hole you mentioned actually goes to an adjustment for the chain oiler. Use a small flat screwdriver and turn a screw deep inside the hole to adjust the flow of oil to the chain. Second, the 25/1 oil mix is simple. 40/1 or 50/1 mix oil is the recommended leanest mix the oil will work for. Meaning the less amount of oil mix that will still provide satisfactory lubrication. Use the same oil for a 25/1 mix but use just twice the amount recommended for 50/1.
I just ordered one of these saws. Same one you did!! IM actually excited to try it out! Thank you for this other great video. Keep cutting, cut strong, cut easy!
I can't wait to see those "Best Saw Ever Made" on sale at Sappy Supplies. I would pay extra $$$ to have it ported and polished with a West Coast Saw bark box, 5 point felling dogs and foam filter. 😂
50:1 versus 25:1 relates to the quality of the 2 stroke oil only and this is specified by the oil manufacturer. The fact that the saw ran fine on both without mixture adjustment is impressive.
I have had a Chinese saw for 5 years, I took my regular 50:1 mix and added some cheapo two stroke oil someone gave me for the first few gallon of fuel, after that all red Armor 50:1 and she still runs great with less smoke.
@echocall they do, but running good 2-stroke oil at 50:1 has never been a problem. 25:1 just gets too smokey and makes my eyes burn ang gives me a headache.
I run my timberpro and parkerbrand 50-1 or maybe >40:1 and it's fine. Keep the chain sharp so you're not abusing the motor and they are well worth it for the 10 cords I fell and buck a year
"I don't want to get greedy with this chain, in case the saw doesn't have too much power". Oh, don't worry my friend! Get greedy! Everyone knows the Pinkway is a one way ticket to torque city, boarding at domination station!
I’m traveling and came to WA for the first time. I drove through kings county, man it’s amazing! I’m from VA so we don’t have this beautiful scenery. But these trees are massive!
Nice thing about you buying this saw is you’ll put three years of homeowners use on it in three months. So you can report back on any issues with wear, and if anything wears out, parts support
I have the same saw and its been going strong for over a year. The pull cord feels like a bungee because it has "easy start" you can pull the cord slow and it will still start (actually a great feature)
Thanks for this great review! I just ordered one. What a great price! The reviews on Amazon were great. I just cut a few trees around my home. I only have four gas chainsaws and two electric, so I definitely needed another one. 😁 $130 with the tax, wow, can't go wrong! My oldest chainsaw is a Homelite Super XL that I paid $300 for new in 1984 (a lot of money at the time). My most reliable chainsaw has been a Chinese Ryobi that cost $130 about 10 years ago. It starts easily every time and always runs perfect. I love your channel. I love running a chainsaw and cutting trees. There's something thrilling about having all that power in my hands. It's almost like an amusement park ride.
I have to say from watching your videos from when you were work in east side to now I have learn a lot from you on felling trees and love watching your videos keep up the great work
I ran my titan 49cc chainsaw in on idling 60°c for 3 hours before cutting soft prvi hedge and 40,-1 mix aspin and sthill ultra fully synthetic stroke mix
Jacob that saw looks identical, aside from colour, to a "62cc" Giantz brand saw I bought a few years ago for $90 Australian, on eBay. 1 trailer load of firewood and they pay for themselves 😂
Ratios like 25:1 were recommended back when we used regular SAE 30 4 stroke oils in our gas, or old 2 stroke oils that had terrible lubrication properties compared to todays oils. Run whatever ratio you want, running more oil isn’t going to hurt your engine provided you jet the carburetor correctly for that ratio. A richer oil to gas ratio will result in a leaner running engine, too much oil without a jet change or adjustment will burn up an engine.
so what you're telling us is that 99% of all average joe's who need a chainsaw a couple times per year DONT need a $2k+ Husqi or Stihl?!?!?!? Who could have imagined that would be the case.
Farm Boss series from Stilh 400-500 bucks... you don't have to get a professional logging saw and the couple extra hundred bucks he spend on German quality probably will pay off in the long run
@@hillcresthayfarms9664 Don't worry someday those kids will become proficient and running sweat shops of their own and will have learned all the skills to operate at a young age
Its as with every niche product initially going cheap on amazon, they wait until popular channels gets one and praises it, then they up the price by 3-4 times and lower quality maximum.
in sweden we had 3 brands of chainsaw manufacturer.husqvarna jonsered and partner, husqvarna is as you know still around but the other 2 is gone and this pinkway is a copy off a old partner saw, this model is sold as a bunch of brands/names,
That exact same saw is $494.29CAD ($359.37 USD)on Amazon in here in Canada! What a rip for us! I've got a Holtzforma, and they too suggest 25:1. Like you, I ran a few tanks like that and switched over to 50:1, and that was 3 years ago. It's still running fine. Thanks for the review.
So I saw one other video of this pinkway saw and was told to avoid it but since watching yours it’s exactly what I thought about doing run 25:1 for a day for break in and then throw 50:1 in it like all my two stroke gas lol, glad I found this video
Reminds me of my Polen Pro Wild Thing. Still have it after 20 to 30 trees and the motor is still strong. Paid under 100 bucks at WallyWorld. The bar went toes up and was replaced.
I have been looking around for a good saw that I can use while out on the back woods jeep trails. I would love to see you use this over time and give it a review after a couple of months of use.
25-1 fuel is what all 2 strokes should be running, but the USA EPA forces companies to be compliant . so they put 50-1 or even 100-1 to meat the guidelines.. effectively wrecking the engines early
Where do you get that nonsense from? 100:1 is enough for lubrication. So 50:1 is 2x safety built in, if you don't mix yourself (and mess up your mixes) and use premixed alkylate gas you and your engine will be just fine. 25:1 recommendations is probably from a time (or country) that didn't have high quality oils available.
The main challenge with any cheaper gear is how well they will last in good working condition, not just a quick test run. May be fine for someone who want to get a small bit of firewood once a year, but for professional use, a risk, although a cheap one.
I ought a 58cc 20” bar last November for $85 on Amazon cause it was cheaper than a new bar and chain! That thing is a Stihl clone and it surpassed my expectations! I use a saw maybe 5 times a year so spending $400 plus didn’t make sense. I have had zero issues out of the saw and it starts every time on the first two pulls!
I love cheap chainsaw reviews 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 best wishes from germany I run all my saws 1:50, even my 1:25 but i use special fuel (Aspen). PS: i think its a Zenoah knock off. Zenoah is a japanese saw. Very often sold in Germany.
Pro tip: Drill a small hole in handle and shoot it full of great stuff expanding foam. It will stiffen up and prevent bending. Love your channel, thanks!
My cs 310 is nice way past due on maintenance plus she runs off the top. I messed up a Stihl chainsaw at school. I had polen pro wild thing that sucks. Echo is where I am at. Oregon need to reinvent advanced cut S56 that dual out on me.
You don't see the Stihl and Husky zealots trying Echo saws because they know their hearts will be broken when they find out how much money they've been wasting all these years on the designer brand cool kid saws.
My Echo 400cs 18"is one of the most dependable chainsaws that I have ever purchased. I have cut right at 192 cords of Alligator Juniper Plus a lot of cords of Pine, Cedar and Pinon with it so far and never had the plug out of it yet. Works like a dream compared to my Six year old Stihl . Always starts on the first pull every time. Paid about $ 200 bucks for it about 14 years ago. I guess if it ever dies I might try that Pink Way.lol Keep up the good work Jake!👍
I immediately went on Amazon and purchased one of these fine saws. Should be here by April 21st. I can hardly wait to run this muscle saw. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!
Yes! Cutting down live trees with a purple saw that identifies as pink will not offend anyone! That was freaking smart! What other color would be less threatening?
I have a cheap 62cc Chinese saw too. I love it. Can’t kill it. Yet. And it’s incredibly reliable. These saws will never compare to the big brand professional saws but they absolutely have their place for the causal homeowner user. You can run them with 50:1 no problems but allegedly do better if run-in at 25:1 like you did.
Let's be real. Some of the cheap Chinese saws are not nearly as bad as some people want them to be. The thing that I don't like about that saw is its name. Just not manly enough. lolo. Everybody stay safe out there.
@@dailystruggle2762 My guess is {Only a guess} that over time you will see that the cheap Chinese saw will not hold up as well. I hope that I am wrong. Even if they can't hold up to as much abuse as a top line saw, there is still a place for them. Take care.
I went back recently and watched some old testing videos of yours and you fighting that poulon pro saw and you yank it like twenty times and you go” ya gotta want it” 😂😂😂
That handle bar looked a bit bendy even when you were doing the cut, hate to think what would happen if it got pinched in a cut. Maybe if you added a spoonful of 2t oil to each tank, that would bring it nearer to 32:1. Got to keep the Pinkway well lubricated..!
I actually bought one because someone stole my Husqy. The chain broke on the second cut. Im going to slap a longer bar on it and see how it does. It seemed to run well but I never had an issue with my Husqy.
You need to keep your thumb wrapped around the handle. If and when thst saw kicks back and you donmot hsve your thimb wrapped around the Handle it will cut you. Always keep it wrapped around it..
At 8;20 that is what they call a square ground cutter on your chain. They run those a lot out west , they do well in large trees. Clean them selves out nicely as they go through.
Jake, last fall I got some little yellow saw just like that. It was 12” bar , crazy useless file etc. I fueled it up and put it through the ringer, fully expecting it to not hot start. Or even start at all again. I was wrong, the lil sucker is a crazy one handed tool and it is almost my go to for light work and even some extended firewood bucking. I put an Oregon 14” on it and it’s got enough balls to handle some leaning on it. It was about $100 and it was a hell of a surprise. My 14” husky battery is 2x that!
Qztodo? I have 2 (thats another story) of them and run them all the time for light stuff. The only functional problem I had with them was my fault -- in a rush cutting a tree top off a fence just before total dark, I got the bar pinched and ripped an AV mount (under the top bar). Ordered a full set of Zenoah AV mounts for $10 off ebay and fixed the problem when they arrived from China. I also have a 10" bar that I want to try on one, as well as a 14" bar, no reason in particular, just like messing with those little saws.
Yes, that’s the one. It’s a screaming beast. I thought my ancient Shindawa was high rev and it has a 14” bar on it and was my fastest, lightest saw until this guy showed up. For those times when you don’t need the echo timberwolf , which is getting used less often as I get older and less enthusiastic about sawing in general. 😂 I think also a learning experience, see how much you can get done with the little buggers. Might be my imagination but I seem to get a lot of running time from a tank of gas too.
Thanks for the introduction to the saw but I'll say it. I just can't show up at a job site with a purple saw and the name Pinkway on the bar, at least not yet. My Husqvarnas and Echos have been my workhorse saws for years. Also, it's nice to put some hours on a saw and see how it performs. My final thought on this video is that a sizwheel, a tapered hinge and wedge(s) make directional felling enjoyable. Thanks for the video.
A 28 inch bar would be more suitable for them big wide tree turnks however for a small 20 inch bar better grese bar and sprocket and fit new chain to improve cutting time and use sthill ultra fully synthetic 2 stroke oil
I have watched all 157 "RU-vid VIDEOS starting in December 2023 - Today is 4/20 (he he) 24. I have learned a lot and will continue to buy from Sappy Supplies instead of locals to help you out. Keep up the great work young man! Congrats on the new addition to your family and stay safe!
I picked up a Husky 543XP Clone (Neotec) for $109 and so far it's exceeded my expectations for a small cleanup saw. Shocking how good the cheap saws are.
You should try out the FarmMac (Neotec) F-380 (72cc Stihl 038 Magnum II clone). Mine came with 25” Bar and pulls like an old school Stihl 044. It’s a real Beast !! Only paid $350 free shipping. Walked right through several big trees and even cross cut the big hunks into small chunks throwing spaghetti noodles. Haven’t even needed to sharpen the chain yet ! I did upgrade to a better air filter than the one supplied however. Anyone with only a few big trees to handle occasionally would be crazy to buy an expensive Stihl or Husky in the 70cc range for well over $1000. The saw is now pickled with storage oil awaiting the next Hurricane or Wind storm mayhem occurrence.
