The reason that this video doesn’t fulfill viewers curiosity is that you went from ambiguously taking the coolers on a laughable ninja warrior course to smashing it with a hammer like someone who ‘‘twas off their medication and wanted to get their anger out more than create coherent tests
I paid $25 for Coleman Marine 70 QT on sale end of season. While not as rugged, for typical family use, it’s more than fine. It keeps ice just as long as the $500 Yeti coolers.
Let me answer this without watching the video.... No. No cooler is worth $800. And putting ice in a cooler and never opening it until 2 days later doesn't compare to a weekend of actually being used. Then destroying $1,200 worth of coolers is just stupid. Watching someone basically light $1,200 on fire is not entertaining anymore, this isn't an episode of Jackass. Was it?
Yeti calls it vacuum insulted, yet fills it with foam insulation like their rotomolded ones. Almost like they know these will never stay vacuum insulated long term and they are using vacuum insulated shtick as a sells gimmick.
Those handles look terrible. Looks like the stainless Coleman and that cooler was junk. Yeti did not build this like a Tank. And for the price nobody is going to pay that.
The Vacuum insulated panels were probably compromised the moment it received a wrench to the face. Just one pin hole ruins a VIP. I hope yeti is just testing the functionality of this tech because that cooler is honestly junk. YETI would not have gotten where it is today if they started with junk like this. Time for another brand to swoop in and take the throne
Qool (Germany) states 27 days ice retention for theirs. Plenty of competition for Yeti at the high end. I don't think Yeti ($1.5B) is going to ignore this flawed review (or is it a joke?)
Did you sledgehammer the cooler, then test it? Probably broke the vacuum seal. Consumer Reports you are not. Yeti is a $1.5 billion company, and probably won't handle this joke of an evaluation very well. But if $800 truly can't keep out the heat, it's not worth it.
