This is them from the very beginning. They are Hiphopkon; it's just that they are versatile and diverse when it comes to genre.

Their sound and style has matured over the years and have somehow diverted from the hiphop sound. This was their debut song and originally the concept that was expected of them by the fans after win and mix n match. One of their most popular songs too. I guess this threw you off because you’ve been learning about their discography backwards. They were known as hiphopkon.

iKON's lightstick is called a konbat 😂 and fans used to joke that iKON's songs are so hype that if they want us to storm a place, we ready for war with the bats 🤣 fans actually get injured during concerts because of the bats and instead of getting mad, most of them laugh because it's really funny

When they debuted they released My type first and that was a pop song and although they did well on the charts, knetz commented that they weren't hip-hop enough because that's the style yg promoted them with pre-debut. Rhythm ta was a hit and pleased the concept they were supposed to be but you're right, considering they was a group of 2 rappers and 5 vocalists that didn't seem to be balanced especially with members who were just adjusting to the group like Chanwoo. The fact that Chanwoo only says nanana in the whole song hurts me... Eventually the song aged well and they embraced the style, for example there's Tantara which is the closest thing to Rhythm Ta and there they all fit in so well

I kinda agree about it not being iKON but at that time, it was what iKON was known for. Rather than a label thing, it was just their style then. Good for them because that really boosted them. Over the years I guess they discover more ways to express themselves while still keeping true to personality. But yeah, Rhythm Ta feels more B.I and Bobby and while some members like DK and Song are versatile enough to fit in, Chan's aura is too elegant lol. I guess that's why his only line is the ending 😅him and Jay feels more natural in their pop songs and especially ballads. But I'd be lying if I said Rhythm Ta didn't make me feel like a gangster while driving to it 😶

This song (plus Bling Bling, Dumb and Dumber) seals the deal for me. After watching the MV, I was like "Ok man imma stan iKON now, y'all hyped me up". idk,, I just love hiphopkon!!

No worries, I respect your opinion. But when Rhythm Ta was released I believed it hit charts in Korea, it was such a big song - and is still a big song until today (it’s actually the song that made me become fan haha though after seeing the Rock Live version I don’t remember what the original one is). iKON’s lightstick is called a Konbat, I actually have it and my sister has the Bang Bong 😎. The live clip is from their 2019 Encore Tour in Seoul and they actually performed 40+ songs that day, most with choreography and they performed some of their songs twice - including Rhythm Ta so that’s actually their relaxed version leading up to the end of the concert. I have been watching them on concerts and the ones you watch from screen doesn’t really do justice to the energy that they give out from being at the concert - everyone would probably agree that after watching iKON’s concert its not a shock if you go home limping or almost cannot walk from jumping and partying, losing your voice and going home drenched from being splashed by water by iKON hahaha. It’s definitely a must to watch them live atleast once. 😆

Maybe you felt that way because you listened to their discography backwards(?) because if you really started from their debut (like me I started since 2013 WIN ERA) it’s just SOOOOO THEM hahahahaha that’s how people and the company envisioned iKON.

I'm not really into hiphop, and I don't really like Rhythm Ta at first, but once I saw it live, it changed my life, it really phenomenal, specially the fanchant, that's why this song never absent from iKON's setlist in every concert or festivals

It's funny bcs I realised that u have been learning about iKON backward that's why U feel weird about the concept 😅 Rhythm Ta is how iKON supposed to be. Rather that Love Scenario, Rhythm Ta give is what YG and public envision who iKON is. That's why many people complaining that iKON is not hip hop enough now. Rhythm Ta is very famous actually

This song was totally iKON at the time it was released. We all told you to listen in chronological order, this is what happens when you jump around, lol. The rock version came later for concerts: the tempo is faster, the singing is more aggressive, and the guitar at the beginning make it the rock version. There is also the famous fanchant for this song. The lightstick is called a "Konbat" (I have both versions) and it was Chanwoo's idea because he is a huge baseball fan. It is one of the most unique 3rd generation lightsticks. When you see them all lit up like that at shows, it's called "Konfire." This live version was towards the end of the concert, but not everyone will have the same energy at any given time. Seven Bobby's would be chaos, and you need the balance, especially for fans who are also less hyper. Hanbin is a huge Slam Dunk fan, so yes the video is based on that.

rythm ta is a bop and the rock version is even better

The original version that have MV is just a normal version. More to hip hop vibe The rock version was released later on to fit more for concerts. iKON sing the rock version more than original version 😅
