The director Todd Phillips said the movie isn’t musical but music is an important element to the story so I think most of it will be like the first but have moments where they fall into delusions that’s represented as musical numbers

It's a jukebox musical, which really disappoints me. If anyone reading this doesn't know what a "jukebox musical" is, compared to a regular musical, the jukebox aspect comes from the use of already popular music to drive the story. Think SING as an example of a jukebox musical, or Mamma Mia, or Moulin Rouge.

Those types of musicals im fine with! Im not a big fan of the ones where the ENTIRE movie is sang though.
