Sorry ma'am.... I use the vent shape and the wing outline to tell if they are pullets or cockrels. Much faster and it can be done on all breeds of chickens at any age. Have a good day.
Very informative and helpful video. I have a chick which is 18 days old. It seems like to be a cockerel but I want your assistance to tell the sex of it because I am not experienced on this, it is my first time I grow a chicken and maybe you could help on this by sending you a picture of it. Thanks!
I had 6 chicks out of black commercial hens x Bantam Coronation Sussex, 1 was white & looked like a light Sussex, the other 5 were black, 2 of the 6 developed one white & black had Pullet wings at day 3 & developed their wings & tail feathers. So the black one tuned out to be a Rooster & the white a hen, two grew combs slowly, the white & one of the black, then 3 other blacks grew their combs yet did not colour up & they were hens, so I ended up with 5 hens out of 6, since then I am waiting as some are clear & obvious & some you have to be patient to see what they are, the clutch before that I had everyone tell me a hen was a rooster & I knew it wasn’t. Please be patient if unsure people. Thank you for your RU-vid
Great information! I am glad I found your channel. I just start my little farm. With ducks and chickens. I was wondering what is the best chicken for eggs and meat?? Any suggestions?
