It really is. Just weird that they are paying so much for me to come out and service the place. Maybe it's someone who passed away and they are just on auto pay or something, it's not unheard of but it's sad. And thanks so much Sheena, love ya!
You think I didn't notice!? I had to walk back to my HQ and explain myself. Hahaha I hope you stick around, my friend. We've got a really great community here. Thanks for your time and humor
Yes they are absolutely used for that, and mainly anti-gang stuff around here. It's actually quite effective compared to the old methods. Thanks for your time John, I hope you stick around. We've got a great community here
It's a company called vacant property solutions. I used to work for one of their competitors in the UK and our company director actually helped to set up the company that installed the ones you see here. We fit these and battery powered alarms. Not completely impenetrable but it makes it a very hard target.
It's absolutely insane that you found this video and know so much about the product mentioned. I pass them all the time, but never had a service call for one. There are a few different companies out here that provide this exact service, and you'll find this kind of thing at least every other block in this neighborhood. Thanks for your time I really hope you stick around
@@grimstravels3416 I used to service foreclosures. When VPS came out with the product it was rarely used due to the cost. At least in the areas I serviced. It is super effective though. Typical securing was 2x4, lag bolts and plywood lol. Pretty easy to break into those.
Yeah they are actually everywhere in Chicago unfortunately. But there are even more that are just completely boarded up. Whoever owns the land is paying quite a bit for my services, so it's weird that it was on my itinerary. Gangs and squatters like to use the abandoned stuff, so companies and the city try their best to pay to get them at least looking secure.
That's the messed up thing, you're probably not far from what's going on. Usually gangs take up these places for initiations, gambling and too much more to mention. I grew up not too far from here on the south side, so it was just life back then. Thanks for your time, I really hope you stick around
We have a lot of abandoned properties that are used as gang meetings, stash houses and legitimately too much to mention. I spend a lot of time in neighborhoods very near to where I grew up and it's insane to think that this kind of stuff was going on even then but it was just normal. Most of the properties just sit for literally years because the city obviously isn't going to pay to have them leveled. I do appreciate your time and hope you stick around!
Common with Detroit homes, some are condemned because of asbestos. In Detroit I doubt they are anti squatter because they are mostly abandoned homes and Detroit isn't known for putting money into stuff like that.
Yes you're absolutely right. My team and I took a trip through a few different states looking for content and had to film something in Detroit... Got a few good videos, but also filmed a short of someone that was shot and murdered 10 minutes after I passed him. Where I'm from isn't much different, so the city felt normal and somehow inviting. But I did notice more houses than I could count that were boarded up. Thank you for your info and input, my friend. Hope you can enjoy the channel
Hopefully you be careful where you’re at. It could have been a drug house. And the government to over the house. It looks like it is a prison or something like that. Just please be careful and safe out there.
