@@rebeckahtraverse8201 The landing gear failure ad was just one of the deceptive television spots created by Nissan and TBWA Worldwide in 2011。One of their ads, entitled "Hill Climb," was so misleading it raised the ire of the Federal Trade Commission, who said in a press release:Nissan and TBWA promoted the Frontier pickup truck with a "Hill Climb" advertisement that showed the vehicle rescuing a dune buggy trapped in sand on a steep hill, while onlookers observe the feat in amazement. It was produced in a realistic "RU-vid" style, as if it were shot on a mobile phone video camera。 "Special effects in ads can be entertaining, but advertisers can't use them to misrepresent what a product can do," said Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection. "This ad made the Nissan Frontier appear capable of doing something it can't do."
I love how he tries to sell it, even with the 54000lb weight. Man, that truck would've folded like a suitcase the minute the noise gear hit the bed at an unreachable 140-200mph. Lol
Its obvious that picture of the truck specs were altered. No pickup truck ever could hold 54000 lbs. That's 27 tons. Even an twin screw tractor-trailer rig is only rated at 150000 lbs, combined, for 3 trailers. If you came here from the short, it was click bait. Truth is, that whole video of the truck catching the plane's front wheels was a tv advert for the Frontier.
It's a fake. The calculation you make is if you were to pick up the passenger plane and place it on the pick-up. And even then I would have doubts. Not only does it have to do with speed, but also with strength, weight and downward pressure. The downward force released when a passenger plane lands is 1.23 million pounds. (this was measured on a 747) If you take half this weight, you would still be 615,000 lbs. (278.9 tons). This means that even if your aircraft only weighs 180,000 lbs, the forward force (measured in kn) is always greater. scenario 1: The plane lands on the back of the pickup truck, speed 190mph, truck travels at 111mph top speed, 79mph short. The initial landing force breaks off the nose gear, causing the plane to slide and crush the truck's cabin. Driver dead. scenario 2: the same landing force causes the front of the truck to be tilted upwards, causing the cabin to smack against the aircraft and resulting in a dead driver. You can twist and turn it however you want, it is and remains fake.
I like it lol, lmao 😂 can't argue the laws of physics. Not to mention the truck more than likely would pretty much fold in half from the downward pressure of the tires and weight of jet hitting it like that. Be like dropping a log on a car everything folds up and around the object.
@jstrang01 you you divide that force by every single wheel, thar force is distributed between every contact surface, not to mention the rear wheels of the craft take the largest strain. You want to do the math do it accurately. Knowing physics has nothing to do with calculating accurately. Your missing some math.
All right, smarty pants riddle me this why was there no visible damage on the aircraft until the wheel was on the truck furthermore does anybody even know what aircraft that was?
But why would a Nissan like that even be driving round a runway/ It’s not even crash landing procedure so no, they wouldn’t suddenly come up with such a rubbish plan. Perhaps the pilot could slow the plane with his umbrella , it’s just as unlikely. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
There was an incident way back some 25-30 years ago where a truck did assist a smaller plane in this situation. It was on the news at the time. Not a large plane like this but a smaller plane that the front landing gear was not fully extending. Like a very small passenger plane. There may be some alterations to an old video from more than 25 years ago.
No😢 to mention the same forward centrifugal force will keep the plane unsecured land mount steady and moving the front wheel gear Missing Wheel! now the truck is that mounted wheel, when they have to slow down and the stable ft. Landing Mount Will stand fast and clear the door to be the pilot Crew release the same way when you get back from the bike and the back tire is on the way to get the jump on the front fork tire mount bolts for a balance ratio of pull torch from petal crank . So b4ugo always get the inspection done by you since you're going to drive, fly, , roll down, ski down, and eat down. 🎉😂❤🎉😂❤ Pay closer attention to detail PEOPLE 😂
saw the ad.. and the announcer's viewpoint. and I must agree Yes it is possible..as there are 2 other landing gears being used.. I did think at first it was a true account..BUT also knowing now badly an ADDDD campaign might be to bother soo many people just for the $$$$$$ for the truck ad.. FCC...Truck company.....and the airline woul d have soo RIGHTEOUSLY spoken up nahh it is only an ad.. not real..Yet silence and prayers.. so I believe this gosha rootie vid
Pretty cool footage, seems a bit staged though. Allmost like some sort of truck add or commercial or something like that to boost truck sales. Most of our society is exposed to fake or staged manipulation like this most of the time. Manipulating emotions involved motivated to do evil calling it good most of the time with things like this. People suck...
Fake, no logo on the plane. Nissan Frontier commercial created by Zoic Studio visual effects company in 2011. I think it's an Lockheed L-1011 not a 727.
This idea was ripped off from a real life event in st Augustine 1985 when they drove out and pulled the landing gear down Google moving repair St Augustine airport 1985
No, it's not possible, because of 2 things... 1. The nose is coming down onto a fixed point. The normal suspension would buckle. 2. This is an old Nissan ad. LOL
The weight that this truck can hold definitely can hold the front half of the jet and with good concentration and perfect speed it can definitely be done. This person is definitely a little bit crazy but WE LOVE CRAZY 🙏🫵🙏🫵🙏🫵👍👍😎 GREAT JOB RISKING EVERY THING FOR THE BEST OUTCOME FOR OTHERS, THIS IS NOT REMOTELY RECOMMENDED FOR ALL BUT BROTHER YOU ARE A HERO IN MY BOOK. I’M SO HAPPY THAT THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A GOOD THING FOR EVERYONE. BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL 🙏🫵🙏🫵🙏🫵👍👍😎❣️
Jeez, how people are gullible. You all know this is not possible, without research. The towing numbers are irrelevant - that is how much can be *pulled*, not how much weight can be *supported*. The numbers in this video look bogus anyway. You also know that a truck can’t even match the speed of a landing jet, let alone accelerate quickly to 150MPH. Shamelessly fake!
BS number 1. No pickup truck can hold 54000 lbs of weight, that's 24,500kg. A Nissan Frontier/Navara can hold 1010kg which is about 2220 lbs. That plane will crush that pickup easily. BS number 2.Landing speed for an airline depending on size is between 150mph to 165mph. That pick up truck max speed is probably 115mph. It's just not possible.
So much money goes into technology that people and companies can profit off of, but to create some kind of technology that would solve the problem of a failed landing gear like every airport having one vehicle in case of an emergency like this is not worth the investment because there is no profit to be made lives to be saved
yeep... 727 landing speed is over 120 knots even with all flaps fully deployed.... less than that the plane will stalled and crash landed already... a pick up truck cant even reach 100 knots without major modification and holding that much of a weight..
1. A Nissan Frontier isn’t fast enough to match the speed a planes landing speed. 2. Not even the heaviest unmodified pickup could hold up that much weight. It’s fake.
