You may remember our pal Jackie Ding from Hoonigans Wanted 2… especially when he became part of Team Rush Hour. He may not have made it into the finals, but the competition was pretty stacked to be fair - Jackie is a serious wheelman. Stepping up from his S2000 time attacker previously, he upgraded to an A90 Supra - and wasted absolutely no time in making it as track-capable as possible.
UPDATE: Jackie Ding just broke the Street Class record at Road Atlanta with a 1:27.923!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Larry I just wanted to let you know we all love hoonigan auto focus and we’re so glad this is a show. I used to love watching the build breakdown episodes and auto focus is kinda like the new version of that show. Also I know everyone messes with you about mentioning your 240z in every video but I love the 240z and I love my 350z. And honestly if I had a 240z I’d mention it and talk about it in every video too. But one day I’ll get one.

He embraced this platform bc as much as some ppl dont want to admit it, it is extremely capable. We all know sports cars..esp 2 doors make up an extremely small % of sales. The release of the A90 could've been a lot worse. It could have been a crossover. The B58 is just a proven platform and the only way it could be built, is if Toyota merged with BMW. Original design, reliable platform with reliable power, and priced fairly. Most importantly, they have made legit performance upgrades each yr since the release. He made a great choice to continue with.

Adam Lz did the same when he did pulls. I can’t remember what the reason was behind it but they are actually doing something when they do it. I believe it was when in first gear you have to shift it into sport or something like that. That may be wrong but the main takeaway is that they are actually doing something.

It bumped out of manual mode into auto and he had to put it back into manual shifting mode. They’ve had a few issues with the car doing that. Jackie mentions it in his videos over on his channel. Which is awesome, if you’re interested at all in time attack racing definitely go check it out.

Jackies channel inspired me to buy a MK5. I was in the market for a new platform to drive on track, watched him take his first MK5 straight from the dealer to a competitive event bone stock and was sold. I was impressed at how capable the car is for what it costs. His videos show all the ups and downs they've had ,gave me a really good perspective on what the car and do (and what it can't). Too many channel only show the best parts of their experiences because that's what sells. Anyways it's awesome to see such a young person who's passionate about driving sports cars.

Z1 Motorsports has a kit to fix fuel starvation in the G's saddle tank. It should work for the A90. It's a pump and piping to pull fuel from the wrong side of the saddle tank and dump it right onto the fuel pickup.

End Track is by 'Di_Weng_Beats'. They make music for commercial use. Its part of a larger package that's called 'Slow Motion'. The track itself appears to be nameless.? They has a RU-vid channel (diwengbeats) that serves mostly as a means of advertising their products. Check them out and support the artists you love! If anyone knows who made the other tracks in this video please share it! Shame on you, whomever manages the RU-vid side of Hoonigan for not crediting the music used. Hope you at least procured the license from them...

Man these cars are amazing, regardless of what the fanboys say about it "being a BMW". Give it 5 years when they are more common on the used market and their pricing is more competitive with Camaro's, and these things are going to be EVERYWHERE at racetracks. I look forward to that.

He's not wrong about diffusers, but he's wrong about the F1 example. F1 diffusers are heavily restricted by the regulations, that's why F2 diffusers are about twice as large. Also, look at what Adrian Newey designed for the Valkyrie. The biggest mistake I see, is that a diffuser is useless without a flat floor. The term gets thrown around incorrectly all of the time, most cars have a rear dress piece that is designed to look like a diffuser, but is not. It's getting to be a bit like radiators that don't radiate and shock absorbers that don't absorb shock.

nobody said the new Supra won't be any good. We just hate that it's a BMW with BMW reliability, or potential lack there of, and we know Toyota has to capability of building a better one by themselves. We just want a Toyota Supra, not a BMW Supra.

Yeah, we're afraid it won't be Toyota reliable, but BMW reliable, not saying it's not reliable just always less than Toyota.

@-- nah, the b58 engine block and internals will give 2jz a run for its money, even if Toyota/Yamaha made a 3jz, with modern emission BS and things you mentioned, it probably won't be as reliable as the 2jz, and be pretty close to the B58

Rich parents, most likely. But I don't mean that to be a ding on Jackie either. If I was wealthy and had a son who also into cars, I would gladly fund his hobby in the hopes that he could make a living out of it.
