Thank you for the test! I have played the tour soft for several years and I now have tried the tour speed. My results on courses I play I get more distance but a lower ball flight so coming into a green I found they both roll out about the same! I am 77 years old play twice a week 17 hc. Thanks Mike Robertson from Texas.

I've been playing the Tour Response and it's a great ball for me. Good distance off the tee, I pick up a few yards with irons with the lower compression, great around the greens. And a cast urethane cover for $12-$15 less than TP5s and Provs. It's basically a lower compression TP5. Great urethane ball for a slower-swinging low-handicapper. Or anyone!

Yes, I like Tour Speed. Great review! Hope it will come in yellow during spring 2021.

Just to add that probably the one that most closely compares to the tour speed, tour response in the srixon line up is the qstar tour 3 as opposed to the zv.

q star is good but bad durability

Played ProV1X / TP5 but the Tour Speed could easily take that place...tested it just as you did first on and around the green and than several rounds on the course and not much difference. That is ...not that much difference that it could justify the difference in price. Speed is for me not the main thing but feel and control around the green and the much cheaper Tour Speed did deliver on those points.

In the end it really depends on so many things including one’s club speed and how play your golf- do you need more distance of the tee to make a difference or chipping accuracy from around the green for instance. I have been testing over 40 balls of different brands and models over 100 rounds of actual golf using one ball and brand for every six holes and so on slowly eliminating one per round and so on. THe brands are all the usual suspects from Titleist, callaway, tm etc plus many of the lesser known ones honma, xxio, and many direct to consumer ones seed, cut, snell, oncore etc. Down to four of Five now that includes the tour speed, two Bridgestone balls, a snell ball and tm tour response.

which of the off brands do you like best. I am playing prov1x and it's most consistent off all clubs especially the putter. I don't swing hard enough to stop them quickly. I want a less expensive alternative so I am trying the oncore x ball and it flies lower a negative for my carry but it stops best on the greens of any ball I've hit. It's a great ball but not at consistent for putting for some reason. I also tried the taylormade distance plus and it's not good around the greens. Callaway warbird is actually pretty good except for stopping power. I like the higher ball flight of prov1x and stopping power of oncore x. please advise your pick

@@MichaelSmittySmithScottsdaleAz interestingly while I still find that the pro v1 has the best balance in terms of everything one needs from a great golf ball, I am currently finding that the Wilson triad is an interesting ball and am testing it on many consecutive rounds. I did like the on core elixr but for several reasons have not continued with it. Another ball to consider is the vice pro and vice pro zero. And am putting the Wilson triad up against it - so far the triad is doing better. The only issue which in part you touched upon is that these balls don’t have the stopping power on the greens from wedges or spin stop from chips that the pro v’s have. That being said they are better off the tee for a relatively slower swing speed and still pretty good on wedges and chips. Putting is all about what feel you like - soft or like a little click. Both the triad and the vice pros have a little click compared to the pro v1 for example. I have been lucky enough to find a place that offers 25% discount on the second box, and 50% on the third box of triads so that has been a no brainier. Vice as you probably know come close value wise but only in you buy six dozen at a time. Happy golfing

@@MichaelSmittySmithScottsdaleAz one more thing to consider is the srixon q star tour which I believe is already in its 4th iteration.

Thanks for an interesting Ball H2H. That alignment aid looks a good idea on the Tour Speed, but £40 per doz is still a high price, I'm using the Inesis Tour900 from Decathlon it's a Tour quality ball for £20 per doz. For me it's a no-brainer.

I've been gaming the Titleist tour soft and the velocity last couple of week and gave these a try over the weekend but found no distance gains really at all. I play a yellow or green ball so won't be gaming these as they only come in white ☹

If that's mud on the Provx in the fairway, I'm guessing you also got more carry than the TourSpeed. You should have looked for a ball mark.

The Srixon ball Titleist compared it to should have been the Q Star Tour not Z Star as that is Pro V1 equivalent.

Jackanory never did ball reviews but if they did …………. These balls are probably designed to show benefits at driver club head speeds in excess of your 86mph. The story here is about the new cover material which you hardly mentioned.

Its basically the EXP-01. I liked the ball other than the durability. Scuffed very easily.

OMG enough with these balls they’re good where they’re at. Stop hurting the game and let the players do their part.
