As promised, I entered the last round of the Scottish Biketrial Championships on my freshly built Meta VTT2 trials bike (link to build video below). Is this bike the secret weapon I've been waiting for to get me a win?

Nice job on the wins and the backflip! If you were a dedicated comp rider what would that training look like? Do comp riders train specific moves all day or just put in more hours on the bike? Might make an interesting video topic.

I like it so much that you seem to ride to have fun and experiment, instead of just trying to win. Each time a different bike, including an MTB, that's insane and fun :)

Wow and wow congratulations Ali second overall that’s amazing even though has been street riding all these years as the famous. saying goes once you’ve got it you never lose it and a massive congratulations. to all the winners on the day and overall in their respective categories it’s amazing how quickly kids these days pick up sports nowadays specially trials it’s not exactly an easy sport to do some techniques take years to master for these kids are absolutely incredible But the highlight for me was at 28 :12 Paul Tate being helped down cracked me up

Campbell is buzzing to be featured, even although he fell 1M from the end gate. Fraser better watch out for 2024 if he is still filming as he will be asked to be in every single video going forward

I love to see that young kids have parents who encourage their passion for bikes, my parents never did! and Ali is always on the podium , its inevitable 👍👍 Love the look of the Meta but I could never ride one. I prefer a Jump bike set up for STB.

Mine did.. I live in india and started riding when media was still not consumed by adults.. stunts and tricks were a "bad boy" taboo .. My parents were able to see it as a sport and still encouraged me..

My mother didn't want me to get anyway close by a 2 wheel vehicle of any sort ( father's imbecility's and relations' misshaps) she smiled at last after her 70yo seeing I was training to not get in accidents but when she saw me put logs and planks to make a parcour her face showed not much curiosity but a lot of fear! it passed after a few hours seeing me do only manoeuvers for which I could easily fall of the bike on sure foot. Though, my kids had their Monty already snd she was eying it with.... deep concern!

What an amazing bike, can't think of any other trials frame with disc mounts that doesn't crack in 26". This was made for you! I would change the stem or bars as it seems the front end feels super difficult for you to lift. Maybe it's just an impression though. I just hope it works for you! Also awesome Kieran is back riding trials! What a legend that guy is!

Just picked up a couple of old trials bikes for my son and I. Does anyone know if there are any comps in Northern Ireland? Would love to go and watch and maybe try a few white gates.

I really love this bikes and the sound of the brakes. I want to ask you something about the wheels. I have some old Enduro and DH bikes and I want to know about the rims of this bikes. How many holes have and what width they are? I'm searching something to mount on my DH bike like 32mm, 32 holes and 26". The rims look strong to me and available like new. Could be a good option to. Have something new to keep pushing hard. Thanks for your time and videos. ✨

Do think a bit less tire pressure might have gave ya a bit more grip seems like a lot of slippage. Ive tried playing with pressures to get better grip.

I always wondered, do the track builders actually test if it's ridable at all, or they just yolo it, so it can happen that on a comp nobody goes through the entire track at all?

A lot of comps are set by parents who don’t ride, David who runs these comps also sets sections but he doesn’t ride trials. They just put in what they think will be a challenge, sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s impossible. You do get riders setting sections too, usually a different class than what they’re riding but I don’t think it’s common for anyone to test sections first

@@Ali_Clarkson thanks Ali for the answer, keep up the good content, I really like your style in riding and videomaking too, it's a nice experience after all of the sensationalised influencer-like biking content. The bike builds are like a wellness relaxation. I really like the experimenting, jibbing sessions you did before the workshop upgrade too, like the one under the bridge, around that stadium like building with one of your trials racer friends, it's also nice to see how others also ride sometimes on an entirely different level. All in all your portfolio is great, I hope you keep it up as long as your health and enthusiasm lasts ;)

Thanks for explaining the “new” scoring rules at comps. Last time I competed in a trial we still used the dabs points system and lowest score won. Why did they end up changing it?
