Cause they don't often get to really play through story games like this! We often jump back to silly games, nintendo games (no offense they just aren't story driven) board games or gameshow games. Could you imagine Dan taking in something like Metal Gear?(!) It'd be rad.

That's the part I never understood about this game's story, especially when you consider that Chris trains Ethan to be competent in combat for a bit too. If he didn't want Ethan getting involved why does he explain nothing after shooting his "wife" and taking his child while also after already having taught him some combat skills? You don't normally teach a civilian how to use firearms if the goal is to keep them out of the action entirely

Same! I’m so glad Dan liked Heisenberg and actually appreciated his charismatic personality. Like, the guy was a real freedom fighter, working on his “army” for decades just to be finally free from the crazed scientist. It takes a huge willpower and brains to plan all that.

but instead of outright shutting him down, there was the potential to negotiate other terms. Ethan had more than proven his ability to take down bosses by that point. And Heisenberg seems legitimately infatuated with him on some level or other. They could have still worked together without using Rose - possibly.

All it would take is asking "How exactly are you planning to use Rose?" I mean Ethan already knows that cutting her up and putting her in jars can't kill her, so maybe whatever H.Berg was planning wouldn't have harmed her in any way.

I feel like it was done intentionally to show that a completely moldy person, as Ethan, can also be human and emotional. He was so enraged with the whole bullshit that he didn’t even try to negotiate with Heisenberg and just straight up flipped him off

Well, I don’t think it was immediately clear that he planned to “use” Rose-this was clear in the final fight when Heisenberg explicitly talks about using her, but in the initial conversation, it seems more like Ethan wouldn’t necessarily know he’s planning something that would kill her. Also, I second what others are saying about how he could have negotiated-and, more importantly, Dan himself suggested *lying* to Heisenberg and then betraying him when the time came.

I thought they were just playing with the old stereotype of the indulgent effeminate killer, but it would be more interesting if they were actually *doing* something with his personality being that way rather than just gesturing at a trope as old as time. I guess I could see that with the way he talks about Ethan during the final fight, but I didn’t realize that was intentional.

@@listerjne firefighters don’t draw a line and call it a “no fire zone”. They actively remove flammable substances from an area that can sometimes span dozens of feet. They literally get a team of people together and get it done as quickly as possible before the fire extends that direction. It’s a preemptive measure and often means calling in a bunch of civilian firefighters to work with them as they shovel the ground and flip it over in these huge swaths. Sometimes the fire is just moving too fast and they’re not quick enough. But a lot of the time in Australia it isn’t as simple as a change in the wind. There are birds in Australia that are picking up burning sticks out of the fire and dropping them from the sky into a different area. They do it on purpose to scare the animals out of hiding so they’re easier prey. And Australian Authorities, firefighters, and conservationists are working together right now to find humane ways to outsmart those birds.

@@DiscoChixify Oooh, Australian Arson Birds. Fun. Also of note, big fires can generate their own winds hucking embers and bits of burning debris right over firebreaks dozens of feet wide. That's not even getting to what happens when things get intense enough to spawn firewhirls. I sense you're fully aware of them, but for others' benefit - imagine a tornado, but very much on fire. Like a wildfire got so convective it made a tornado, that picks up burning debris and the glowing plasma of the burn zone's own flames. Guess how far those can throw little firebombs?

That's not how that works. Most people think all metal in existence is magnetic; it's not. Only 3 types of metals are magnetic: Iron; Cobalt; and Nickel. None of which are used to make modern guns - which are made of either aluminum or polymer 9 times out of 10 - or bullets - which are made of lead.

in the tank fight with him Chris mentions the bullets and machine are made from a non-magnetic alloy, its in the pages they read in the room with Chris. That's the reason none of them tried just shooting or stabbing him before they got that tank working, he'd just push it away
