I can't tell if they ever actually processed that Ethan was literally reanimated by the mold and the point is his willpower keeps him going. His character is the personification of parental protection enabling unnatural feats (mothers lifting cars off their children kind of thing) which is why they give him no face; Ethan is a concept and a symbol. They really need to do the DLC because I think Dan will like it a lot. He will be in his feelings a lot.

_Oh no_ The ending story, in the book, isn't the story of Miranda loosing Eva during rhe Spanish Flu! It was the lute makers story! The guy from the village, whose daughter's drawings held the combination to a locked wardrobe! It's showing how Miranda just showed up one day and started curing people (whether this was the Spanish Flu, or something she put out there is anyone's guess)! After he lost his wife, his daughter got sick. Some dude points him in the direction of a healer, it is Miranda, she cures the kid and then makes the father take on a Cadou as repayment!!!!!

Begging for the Rose DLC immediately while they still remember the story. It's so freaking good and I want Dan to have his peace w Rose lmao

And so concludes (aside from DLC) the legend of one of the greatest fathers in gaming, Ethan Winters. May we all remember his iconic line: "Eat Shit"

"Are you like never supposed to see his face or something?" Well considering that both RE7 and RE8 take place completely in 1st person or are supposed to, yes, you are not supposed to see Ethan's face. Almost all cutscenes take place in 1st person in the original RE8 game. This final one with Chris and Ethan escaping from where he fought Miranda is the rare exception where we see him in 3rd person.. like one of the only times in both games

I love how Danny can't stop but feel sad, and gets mad at Arin for interrupting the sadness.

The guy walking down the street at the end is meant to be Ethan, symbolic of him still being with Rose even though he's dead.

It is finally done... The end of Mother Mirinda. (No orange flavor included.) I can NOT wait for a Heisenberg voice compilation. One of the funniest impressions Danny and Arnold have made.

I'm sad that Arin walked past the Duke, he actually has some nice things to say to Ethan here...

Ethan is what every single regular guy would be in a resident evil game, no quips, just trying to survive and trying to avoid all the freaky stuff on pure adrenaline and luck, it's really cool how Capcom made him just a genuine regular guy

the ending of this game genuinely gave me a feeling a grief that no resident evil game has given me before

I LOVE Miranda's fight form. There is a definite Guillermo del Toro feel to it.

This series flew by I can’t believe it’s already over.. it’s time to head back into the class of despair now

So even in grumps this ending makes me cry… the thought of dying before my daughter grows up, the fear that she wouldn’t know who I was. It’s so uplifting what they do with Rose at the end.

I love how Dan was so invested he was literally trying to get Arin to hushup at the end to absorb the weight of everything. It really is a hell of a way to end an RE game, easily the most emotional ending of the series and im glad dan actually had *fun* with it

What is it with Chris not explaining things? Just tell Mia that Ethan sacrificed himself so she sits back down!

1:40 tbf guys, you didn't finish RE7, so you wouldn't really know who the villain was 😅

The amount of times Arin just stands there not moving as the enemies are winding up to do something and then he takes massive damage...But doesn't use the guard button...makes me think the game might not be all that hard.

I love the contrast between Ethan's "give me my daughter back!" and the grumps being like "Heeello mommy Miranda"

Honestly, even though there were some silly moments, I think Village was a wonderful addition to the Resident Evil series. It gives more of an origin to Oswald and Umbrella and how he got the idea for the T Virus, brings up the question of how the Megamycete originated there and that it was the reason Eveline and her mold were created in the first place, yet still have an origin to Miranda who was an extremely cool and well thought out villain. Even if the game has similarities to RE 4, I actually like that because it brings things full circle. The enemies were cool, and it even adds nods to the ridiculous things the RE games have done in the past and made legit sense to how Ethan can easily heal himself with goop. Outstanding.

The Village of Shadows story was basically the entire plot of the game. I do like that the guys picked up on the Lords, but not quite sure if they realized the fight between the father and witch of course was Miranda and Ethan.

I'm glad Dan enjoyed his time with Village so much bc it felt like Arin was on autopilot this entire playthrough. Hard to believe he's played this before tbh

So many games of badasses being badasses in Resident Evil and yet its the story of a normal man that got left me reeling from the ending He was just a guy trying to protect his loved ones and getting FUCKED UP by literal monsters as a consequence until he gave his last to ensure they survived

I played this game through like...six times when it came out, and I SOMEHOW never noticed that teen Rose is wearing her dad's coat. UGH, MAH HART, MAH SOLE.

I think the thing that impresses me with the Miranda fight is that Arin had tons of ammo for the fight. I figured he’d be out of ammo by this fight

Miranda feels like a Bloodborne boss, one if the final bosses in fact.

That's a nice touch at the end. They mentioned that the Mytomecol keeps the consciousness of all the other infected, so either Ethan's consciousness itself was there, or the memories everyone infected had of him, so in a way, Rose does know him

When the agent in the after credit scene tells Rose that she's a lot like her dad, Ethan, she responds with "I know". She literally does know, because the mutamycete stores the memories of the people in its network. She knows literally everything that Ethan did to save her. She knows him better than anyone.
