Yeah, I bought an old Minecraft set that hadn't been assembled. About 20 reddish-brown pieces broke. Fortunately if you know a set that the part came from you can get replacements from Lego for free.

Can confirm. I have a large variety of plates and bricks in dark brown and especially now that they're over 10 years old, any amount of stress on them will cause them to crumble.

If they are from particular sets you can get modern replacements through Lego for free.

I have all these galaxy squad sets that I broke and rebuilt. Big mistakes the bigs are like half dark red. At least 5 of those elements broke

My nice Toy Story town breaks off further every time it is rebuilt. It is almost exclusively brown bricks.

This is much more common in my reddish brown Lego than in dark brown. Most of the pics you showed were reddish brown.

Don't forget lime green socket joints from 2007 of Bionicle, or literally every socket joint from 2008 up until Hero Factory introduced CCBS. Those joints would break if you so much as looked at them funny.

The curse affects pieces that are Reddish Brown, not just dark brown. I have so many broken reddish brown plates.

Just fyi lego pieces that break due to a defect and are still in production are normally replaced by lego for free. I had about 20 brown track connectors from an old minecraft set that broke while building, I put in a part replacement form and Lego sent me the modern equivalent within a couple weeks.

Arg my lime green cheese bricks have been breaking. Yeah Lego does have higher standards than their asian competitors, but they also keep compromising on them. Using cheaper injection molding techniques that leave more visible sprew points etc

Yo I found a mistake in the manual of the B model of set 42048, the purple go kart. In step 25 of the B model, the long blue pins are pushed into the ladder like part(idk what it is) where they are not supposed to... They return back to normal later😂
