Here is the first episode of WandaVision! This episode was pretty cute and very retro, but I have a feeling it won't stay this way.. It has a bit of a hint (especially at the end) that there is something larger going on in the background but so far it's very cute and wholesome and I love seeing Wanda and Vision so happy. Let's hope it stays this way :) I've heard great things about the show and am very excited to start it! Hope you all will join me, and enjoy the ride along with me :)
Episode 2 of WandaVision! It's so cute so far, I love Wanda and Vision together and they make such an adorable couple - the retro feel and seeing things progressing is interesting but you can tell things are not as they seem... Still convinced it'll be like a "Truman Show" situation but I can't wait to see. I really like the show and it's adorable - I hope you guys like it too! :)

Unfortunately, it’s from Wanda’s viewpoint, and women don’t watch classic reruns like the original brilliant Dick Van Dyke Dhow-They take one look to see if there’s a 50’s-60’s housewife in the premise, and go on avenging crusades. The next reactor we force-feed Wandavision on should be first made to watch a couple of classic episodes, as equal-time fairness for Rob & Laura Petrie.

@@ericjanssen394 I'm sorry, I don't know if I'm misunderstanding your point (really hope I am), but I read this and went "whuut?" Of course women watch classic reruns. In fact, if you watch diverse reactors doing WandaVision, then you'll see that women recognize and identify the material being referenced just as well and often as men. I went ahead and looked up a Network Profile on TV Land, and their demographic was 54% female. Why is it that I see a few men claiming that women are going on "avenging crusades," etc, for this reason or that, but you never actually see any women doing it?

@@ericjanssen394 I believe it's more about age than gender. When I was a kid in the 80s there was a lot less TV so during the daytime all we had were old reruns. These days there's so much on treat you have to really seek them out if you want to see them.

Each episode takes place in a different decade, and is an homage to a show from that period. Episode one, fifties, Dick van dyke show. Episode two, sixties, Bewitched. Etc. Also, they used actual vintage equipment from that time to shoot the episodes, including a live studio audience.
@Zombie_Trooper
@Zombie_Trooper Год назад
True, but little bit of trivia, we still just flat out use old equipment lol Studio gear like Chapman cranes down to C-Stands can be so expensive that they just rent out the same stuff over and over and have for decades. The first Chapman I ever sat in was used on the Carol Burnett Show and a million others and the lighting gear we rented had been floating around the industry since the 70's. It's common practice. Cameras are the only real things that you see changing from production to production.

Good eye catching the differences in the camera-work. The first episode was shot in the style of a 1950's live broadcast TV sitcom, the second episode was shot as a 1960's shot on film TV sitcom complete with a laugh track. They did their best to replicate the look of TV sitcoms of the period. It really is an amazing achievement for the series that very few people noticed.

This is actually a really important show for the MCU in a lot of ways. it will make more sense as it goes on, but there are also links and implications to other "filler" shows you haven't seen yet. Specifically two segments of two different shows that overlap and set up major bits of the movies to come. As was said, the devil is in the details.

This series is a tribute to the great sitcoms of each decade. The first episode is the 1950s with the Dick Van Dyke Show, the second episode is the 1960s and Bewitched, the third episode is the 1970s as shown by the advent of colorized tv, etc... Basically, if you're into older sitcoms, you'll love this series in addition to the MCU parts.

What made this show so great, other than the sitcom throwbacks, was that no one really knew what was going on much in these first two eps. I enjoyed them just for the throwback aspect but then the sudden "wtf is going on" aspects that pop up as well and you're just left wondering what exactly was going on. I think we had it figured out relatively close by 3 and 4 but you still just didn't know what was coming exactly, and even then there were some twists we weren't expecting until much later. It was also really fun watching the intros to each show to see which era you were going to be in!

The first episode takes most of its style and appearance from The Dick Van Dyke Show. The layout of the pair’s home is similar to that seen in the series. Wanda and Vision’s dynamic is also similar to that of Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore. WandaVision producers even reached out to Van Dyke before the series for “sitcom school.”Wanda's signature move when performing her magic appears to be "snapping." It's a fun nod to similarly magical sitcoms like Bewitched (where Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha would twitch her nose), and I Dream of Jeannie. And...ahem...we all know who else likes to "snap," don't we? Wanda's comedic overburdening by domestic duties as things spiral out of control feels very I Love Lucy.

WandaVision is, in my mind, still the best show they've made. If you are entirely confused, you are right on track. This show will lead you by the hand through a maze and every single time you think you are getting a clear idea of where it's taking you, you will learn to have absolutely no clue. Just soak in the confusion, honestly it's part of the fun and you only get it the first time through. When the show first came out, every single episode sparked theories that exploded all across the internet, which were usually thoroughly squashed in the next episode. Just don't let your confusion cloud your perspective with frustration, sit back, and enjoy. Trust me, by the final episode, you will know what's going on and will have your sock blown clear off across the room. You also may need a few tissues too, because this show will make you feel the feels.

Hey, Vicky! I really enjoyed "WandaVision" and thought it was the best of the DPlus TV shows. It works as both a sitcom and a dark "Twilight Zone"/"Black Mirror" episode. EPISODE 1: The sitcom being parodied was "The Dick van Dyke Show". Dick van Dyke himself consulted on the set design and gags like tripping over the ottoman. He also played the ukelele like Bettany does to entertain his guests. The program aired in the early '60's but had the sensibility of a '50's sitcom. This episode was the only one filmed before a live studio audience! You recognized Debra Jo Rupp who played Kitty on "That '70's Show" which was a nice touch! She was begging Wanda through a forced smile to save Arthur! The blinking red light on the Stark Industries toaster was the only spot of color. The logo on the journal and the monitor to the left of the TV is for the S.W.O.R.D. Agency. SWORD is SHIELD's space division monitoring extraterrestrial threats. The acronym means Sentient Worlds Observation and Response Department in the comics. The comic story being adapted here is "The Vision and the Scarlet Witch" suburban domesticity series. In the mini-series, the duo take a sabbatical from the Avengers and live as a suburban couple. EPISODE 2: The sitcom being parodied is "Bewitched". They even ape the animated intro! It was a black-and-white '60's sitcom that was colorized partway through its run which is what happens in this transitional episode. Standards and Practices forbade a wedded couple from being depicted sharing the same bed. It was considered scandalous! Lucille Ball bucked the trend on "I Love Lucy" by pushing two double beds together but a single bed scenario wasn't shown until "The Brady Bunch"! Notice the Baron Strucker watch. He was the monocle-wearing head of Hydra in "Age of Ultron". RECOMMENDED PHASE 4 VIEWING ORDER: 2014 1. I Am Groot ["Groot's First Steps", "The Little Guy" and "Groot Takes a Bath" after "Guardians of the Galaxy"] 2. I Am Groot ["Groot's Pursuit" and "Magnum Opus" after "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" but before the teen Groot end-credit scene] 2016 3. BLACK WIDOW [begins during "Captain America: Civil War"] 4. VENOM [MCU-adjacent after "Spider-Man: Homecoming"] 2023 5. Loki: Season 1 [outside of time but begins during "Avengers: Endgame"] 6. What If...?: Season 1 [alternate timelines] 7. WandaVision 8. THE ETERNALS 2024 9. SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS 10. Falcon and the Winter Soldier 11. Moon Knight 12. SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME 13. VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE [MCU-adjacent] 14. SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME 15. DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS 16. Hawkeye 2025 17. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law 18. Ms. Marvel 19. THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER 20. Werewolf by Night 21. I still say that if they had made as big a deal about Vision's funeral as they did about Stark's then Wanda would have had easier time processing her grief at having to see him die twice and once by her hand so all that collateral damage could been avoided

so glad u started wandavision..personally, its my fave mcu show to date..each episodes are based on sitcoms from thes 50s, 60s, and onwards..the commercials all represent something about wanda..1st is the toaster made from Stark industries as stark industries weapons killed her parents and fueled her to be experimented..2nd is Strucker watch..Strucker is the hydra operative that experimented on her and pietro in Age of Ultron.. anyways..ur getting hot about ur theory of whats happening..it will be revealed soon.. great reaction V

I could say too much, but I won't risk spoilers for you. The journey with this show is such a huge part of it. This is a perfect time though to say that one of the reasons I enjoy your reactions so much is because you are so intelligent. You catch things on a first viewing of a show or movie that many don't, and it's so much fun to watch that process.

You should definitely do a reaction video for Pleasantville (1998) if you haven't seen it already. Very underrated classic. One of my favorites. You can tell the creators of WandaVision are big fans of it and that it was a source of inspiration for the show.

Phase 4 pretty much is the filler arc, because the deal to buy Fox just went through and there was no time to write X-Men and Fantastic Four into it. Plus 2020 happened and that messed up big theater releases. So far, this pahse really only has the one Spider-Man movie that's a "banger".

V, in the comics, Wanda was obsessed with another Avenger's D, Wonderman's then they had to put Wonderman's brain into a robot that Ultron created to save his brain, but the mcu changed it up a bit.
