Yea i was thinking the same thing! Everyone else just states the obvious n not much insight. They have the frickin device but they state the obvious things….
In my country regular ROG Phone 7 came in preorder bundle with the cooler, but the price was like 75€ higher (although cooler was a "gift"). Now i know this is a common marketing scheme to increase value of stocks, dividends, etc. make investors happy...but since 1st of May preorder changed and does not include cooler anymore yet price REMAINS the same. That's a red flag for me, even if retailers are to blame in this case and not Asus themselves.
All things this New Rog 7 has done all we hardcore gamer needs the air portal n the cooler wat a beastly combination of non throttle performance WELL DONE #ASUS For knowing how tevh nerfts wantin this planet
well i think differently the cooler may seem unnecessary for a short gaming session but for a long gaming session as 1hrs-2hrs of genshin and with X-mode in active the phone does heat up and can reach 45c~48c which is not comfortable anymore on hand and at that temperature where usually stuttering will happen! so for the consistency of fps the cooler does help and keep temperature below 40c on long gaming plus the subwoofer is a bonus with genshin beautiful BGM
No it won't reach anywhere beyond 45°C no matter how long you game on it. And that's below the threshold too. Phones will only start thermal throttling at 55°C. The only bonus here are the buttons and the subwoofer.
Hey and thanks for the nice review. Can you check the cooling difference between the Ac 6 and 7? In frozen mode? Like in temperature difference. Asking because my Ac 6 does not cool very well.. The Xiaomi BS cooler I have works much better.. Also, could you have done a battery drain test between the ROG phone 6 and 7? Would love to see the difference. (If any) 😅 Cheers
TBH, with or without the AAC7, it is already very cool. So I can't determine how the AAC6 and AAC7 impacts the ROG Phone 7. However, battery drain though. Yeah, coming soon in our full review. Anyway, the AAC6 did have a big impact in our previous review.
@@NasiLemakTech Ok, but I'm intrested in internal temps. What are the temps when you say "very cool?" For example 20°C, 30°C? Would be awesome if you could test the difference in temperature. Like the temperature it shows in Armory crate / Game Genie. Tnx
@@NasiLemakTech Hey. Hope you can test difference between the AAC6 and 7, because I have 6 and it is crap compared to the Xiaomi BS 3 pro cooler.. when I play PUBG 90hz I get these temps; Without: 45°C With AAC6: 30°C With BS 3 pro: 21°C Now maybe you see why I want this tested? Is the 7 just as crap as 6? Tests are done on ROG 6 with X-mode enabled
Anywhere between 15°C to 35°C is considered good for the batter since that's the lithium-ion battery's optimal operating temperature range. Let's be honest, when we're gaming - it can never be 35°C. So, anything around 40°C is considered cool, especially when comparing with other phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Though I do have to state that too cold isn't that good either - especially since the BS 3 Pro cooler is an aggressive TEC that can cause condensation inside the phone. The ROG cooler actually works according to the internal temperature to prevent condensation.
I would never buy a gaming phone nor a topos the line cooling fan. However, buying g a gaming phone is either overkill. As its likely that most gaming phone owners. Play on multiple gaming platforms. When you are such a gaming connoisseur. You're the kind of person that freaks out when FPS rate drops below 60 on 4K. You're after optimal performance and tou also take care of your tech. An expensive and powerful gaming phone. Overheats like crazy when you stretch its capabilities to their limit. If I were such a gamer, I would definitely buy an accessory such as this one. First of all, it looks fucking amazing. Second, prolongs my devices life and enables to perform to the fullest of its capabilities. Lastly, I have a high end PC and most likely some if not all, of the big 3 consoles. To the thousands of dollars I have already spent, only for this current gen. 150$ us a modest price for a gadget which actually caters to my niche needs. Tech has gotten cheap, when you realise what kind of powerful machine are fairly affordable for most of us. Gaming is expensive but if you really think about it. It has the best value for money of any hobby. Just divide the amount the tech costs to the hours one will likely spend using them. They end up costing you (utilities not included)tena of cents per hour. No other hobby is as versatile or you manage to spend as much time for so little money.
Good review. I almost got the 6 for the 7. I with they would stop changing the side port. There's no way I want to invest in one of these for every phone. I'd also rather have a extra battery/kickstand/sub than a fan/cooler. Maybe add longer buttons so they are behind the soft triggers. Side note, looks the the rog 8 is going to remove most of its uniqueness next week so the 7 might be my last one 😢😢
Best review of the rog phone 7’s cooler i’ve seen. Most of the other content creators say things which are obvious n not much insight given Yes i need it for farlight 84. Global launch for farlight 84 on april 25th or 26th guys
@@NasiLemakTech not yet global launch. 14.3 version coming on that date i think. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8etm24vDpUk.html Hey can the aero active portal be manually closed even though the aero active cooler 7 is attached and being used? I often blow a standing fan at my phone so that my hands are cooled. So i wish to keep the aero active portal closed to prevent dust build up. Can i keep it closed?
@@apexmobiledontdie Okay so your question is an interesting one. The Aero Portal only opens up when you unlock the phone and start using it. You cannot close it if the cooler fan is turned on. However, you can manually disable the cooler's fan in the Armoury Crate software, which also closes the Aero Portal.
In case i buy rog 7 16gb 512 normal Edition, not the ultimate version! the Aerocooler 7 Will be useful? Or iff i buy Aerocooler 6 its gonna b the same?
If you're looking to lower the temperature, then there is no need for the cooler. For the buttons, I do think the AeroActive Cooler 7 is much more comfortable. Comes with a subwoofer for better audio too.
I am a bit disappointed with the purchase ROG Aeroactive Cooler 7 in the specification there is information on the website of the online store that it is also compatible with my Asus ROG 6 but unfortunately it does not work and I have a dilemma here to send it back to the store or to deceive myself and wait for some update that could improve something. It is only possible to charge ROG 6 via ROG Aeroactive Cooler 7 and the ability to operate headphones via a 3.5mm jack cable. RGB light, cooling and subwoofer unfortunately do not work.
question. I bought the rog phone 7 series. not the rog phone 7 ultimate. what cooler compatible for the rog phone 7 quote "not ultimate". Is it necessary? for the rog phone 7 series to have cooler or not anymore?
The non-Ultimate version will perform the same as the Ultimate version in terms of performance and also the heat. Cooler compatibility is the same too.
I suggest not to pursue that path. As mentioned in the video, the cooler outright didn't work with the ROG Phone 6. I doubt it'll work with the ROG Phone 5
Thank you for review, I would suggest trying cooler with the cable connected since it does not use the peltier element in it without it, but I agree it is pretty much useless, you can buy a normal version of rog 7 and use the shark cooler on it with a peltier on it, it wil be more effective than this gimmick
Hi, does the cooler from the shark actually work on ROG 7? Anything else you can suggest aside from the aerocooler? It is very hard to get an ASUS cooler here in the PHP. Even AC6 is hard and 7 is virtually 0.
Can you please check if it supports HDMI video out when the AAC7 is attached. With ROG6 if you attach AAC6 HDMI video out is disabled for both USB C ports. I wonder if they have fixed this issue. Thanks alot
Dayum again no way to use new cooler on ROG 6 Like always Asus.... 💩 At gold price 😂🤣😂🤣 Seriously not buy ROG many problems with upgrade, fragile and only 2 yrs of upgrade 🤦 Better to buy shark or Red magic
I rarely comment but... You are my favorite techtuber now! All the other bigtimers just talk about the same usual obvious and common sense s$## nowadays. Keep it up, man! I do have a question, if ever I'm in the market for a gaming phone right now, do you suggest getting this or rog 6 is enough for day-to-day gaming?
Thanks a bunch for the comment 🙏 TBH I'm okay to just game on the ROG Phone 6 now but I'm not sure how it'll perform in newer and more graphically intense. The ROG Phone 7 gives you more leeway.
Wah orang Malaysia ! 😢 ..tolong balas bro
If its okay to ask a question, this is about rog phone 6 in 12/256 ram/storage version. When it plays in x mode at 60 fps, my phone reach 44°celcius for some reason is it normal? ( this is for honkai star rail and without cooler ) The graphic isn't even maxed out since some options that capped at "very high" been toned down to only "high" Edit : typo
@@NasiLemakTech idk if its just me but its kinda uncomfortable sometimes at that temperature, maybe because the original hard case from the packaging is quite thin. Are there any recommendation in casing choice for rog 6?
Hmmm... difficult to recommend any of them, really. The uncomfortable feeling you get is mostly from the hot frame of the phone - but putting a case on the phone will trap the heat inside and make it even hotter. I suggest getting a bumper case should be good enough.
This ridiculous monster not only totally defeats the portability aspect of mobile gaming it also disables me using a proper four finger claw. It might be nice if you forget your earphones but imo instead of adding usually useless features they should have made it smaller.
@@NasiLemakTech Cause you can arrange the buttons on the screen in any way you like and make micro adjustments if needed. Then you can always port your layout to the next phone no matter the manufacturer. I'm switching phones and even operating systems without any considerable adaption phase. There's probably a reason why not a single player in the CODM world championship was using this turbine although they had to use the ROG. I also really doubt they chose the worse ergonomics.
This smartphone is actually in fact no more powerful than a Vivo X90 Pro Plus (which is a much much more complete smartphone) or a Redmagic 8 Pro which costs much less with a better design and an edge-to-edge screen 🤔 A Redmagic 8 Pro + Gamesir X3 or GameVice Flex plus a bonus 2nd hand iPhone 13 Mini or S22 or Pixel 7, combo is actually a much better buy than this thing named Rogphone. Ps: I prefer the S23 Ultra to all the smartphones I mentioned above but even being a fan of Samsung, I must admit that the Galaxy are not really the best smartphones for hardcore gamers.
"A Redmagic 8 Pro + Gamesir X3 or GameVice Flex plus a bonus 2nd hand iPhone 13 Mini or S22 or Pixel 7, combo is actually a much better buy than this thing named Rogphone." That's the issue. ROG Phone has built-in triggers.
@@NasiLemakTech The Redmagic 8 Pro also has built-in triggers, no trigger built into a smartphone will ever be better than a real controller like the GameSir or GameVice 🤷🏽♂️
Sadly, I disagree. Black Shark nailed the built-in trigger experience. Combined with the pressure sensitive screen, it was an amazing gaming phone. Was, because the company is now gone. Also, I don't think other phones allow button remapping and macro functionality as easy as ROG Phones.
@@NasiLemakTech Remapping happens automatically when you connect the controller. And that's what I was saying, if the built-in triggers and the pressure screen were so interesting, BlackShark wouldn't have left the gaming smartphone market, just like many are leaving it.
Hey bro can you try the OnePlus buds pro 2 in a Xiaomi or Black shark device that supports LHDC codec and tell me if it works. I want to buy it and i have the Black shark 5 but I'm worried that maybe LHDC will not work. Also if LHDC do work, if you can try the latency, should be the same than the OnePlus 11 since both are using same codec
