Is this new Cle de Peau UV protective Cream worth it? My review on the new product launched 12/22

This new UV protective cream will be launched 12/22 this coming Thursday.
And Shiseido graciously sent me this product for me to try on and review.
So I included my observations and experiences for both the old version and the new version in this video.
My review focused on addressing 3 questions:
1). Packaging, Texture & feeling on my arm and face
2). Key ingredients comparison. Pay attention to my views on the active ingredients.
3). Pros/Cons and cost-effectiveness.

I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful, informative, interesting review of the Cle de Peau UV Protective Cream. You have educated me so much about the ingredients in this formula and the implications of choosing certain chemical filters over others or over mineral filters. Your review covered every single thing I wanted to know about this sunscreen, from the ingredients, to the texture and feel on the skin, the scent, the viscosity...everything! You are very good and very honest! Great review…..I am in Markham, Canada… I was just about to purchase the new one which will end up after taxes around $200CAD….you just saves me money and my health/face!

MyChelle is my favorite tinted sunscreen and is the best I have found. What attracted me to this particular formula on your review was the pinkish/ pearl glow and some of the other natural ingredients in the old and new formula however after watching your review I will stick with what I am using which is MyChelle (I buy at my local health store) and is made with only natural ingredients...Zinc Oxide/ other naturally based ingredients. Thank you for your thorough well done review : )

Yes, zinc oxide is safe and pricy. Chemical based sunscreen is less safe but much cheaper so a lot of manufacturers prefer chemical based formula. I started to pay more attention to this ever since I got pregnant 🤰

Can you please recommend a good quality safe sunscreen? I wanted to use La Mer but read it has toxic chemicals. Any recommendations? I would really appreciate it.

During my pregnancy, I used Fancl Sunguard Protect UV spf 50 (purely mineral-based sunscreen, but caveat is the Fancl US website doesn’t have this, so I have to purchase it from vendor in eBay or Amazon). For my kid, she is using Curel UV Protection Essence spf 30 (also safe as a mineral based sunscreen, with caveat again from vendor in either eBay or Amazon). There might be other choices on the market, and I would recommend that we plug in the product names in cosdna.com website to check the ingredients safety

Hi there, I have to give feedback on the Cle de Peau SPF 50 foundation. It’s so bad, it’s not protecting my skin from the sun, and mind you the sun in Montreal at this time is not that hot like the summer’s. It’s definitely not SPF50 so we need the true SPF under or over this foundation. At the end of the day, my skin feels very rough, and my dark spots are more pronounced. Not recommending this SPF foundation from Cle de Peau!

Also, another 2 considerations for skin protection in intensive sunlight: 1). Try to avoid vitamin c intake before you expose yourself, because that can sensitize your skin in sun; and 2). Try not use the vitamin C lotion/essence in daytime (same rationale of sensitization). Observations are, with vit C, sunlight tends to make your skin darker after physical chemical reaction

Both. But the old version is safer (as the physical based sunblock)

Thank you its very informative I have been using CDP. sunscreen for more than 3 years I love CPD products, sadly they have changed formula I'll have to look for alternative one . recently I have exposed to the sun like golf :(
