overhyped is not a word for 25 years old anime and their copys still selling in the top list, we just need to admit it its one of the greatest anime that human can ever made

I think when you said in OP 12 that they never focus on just Luffy to much is probably one of the best things about the series he is the MC but no character is wasted or boring they all have depth Luffy doesn't have to be on screen to drive the show.

It starts off very basic pirate of the week esque and if it stayed this way it would've fell off but it evolved into a series with a world filled with different races and world politics world conflicts etc. It does take a while but it's the promises made and mysteries established in the begining of the story along with an incredible story filled with incredible characters keeps the Fandom waiting for more. One Pieces has the best Plot/Characters/Foreshadowing/World building/Enjoyment, it's literally my favorite anime/manga and I watched like 75+(anime) including MasterPieces like Monster/Code Geass/Classroom of the elite and other shonen (AOT, Black Clover, Naruto, Bleach, Vinland Saga)

I was definitely intimidated by the length of this show before starting. Then once I did start I was glad to have so much content and I caught up in 3 months 😅 it’s a really fun watch and I think it has a good balance of goofy as well as emotional.

This series may seem like all smiles and giggles but it can already get serious as soon as episode 4

i used to hate on one piece for the artstyle before i watched the show, now that im caught up it influenced my art in such amazing ways and theres just something so charming about it. Loved the video!

It's less about pirates and more about found family, freedom and adventure. In a quite dystopian world which really doesn't like any of those things. Amazing world building, with each island being its own distinctly different world.

Luffy is the MC but the thing about this world is there are events that take place while he’s on his journey that can change the shape of the world as well as history that comes before him that shaped the world he’s in. Luffy is one cog in machine that is the world of One Piece. The world building in this series crazy and I find myself at numerous times asking if Oda is insane cuz it gets crazy and the way things tie in throughout the entire series is mind blowing

The best part about One Piece is that the strawhats are like a makeshift family, the character interactions and how they "fight together" really makes the show, rather than just focusing on the main character

The reason they reused the first opening a few times is to kinda show how the crew has grown and to give nostalgia for anniversaries

That's not the same intro That's basically 1000 episode spacial intro which contains the present version of the characters with old vibe and song . And that last one is not latest also, there is a latest 24 th opening which is not included . But remember one thing this Show is something else, the perfect package of every emotions .

At minute 16:00 when they sing the 1st Opening again is the characters/ their voice actors singing the song As for minute 21:40 ish it’s the same OP but sung by famous K-POP group TVXQ for anniversary or special I think Most of the OP when they are hanging out and chilling is actually the manga color spreads the author draws for the manga. They can’t include them in the story so they put them in the OPs as a nod. If you’re familiar with the manga/ the art book the scenery of the opening is recognizable. What is the show about? Yes. As an edgy middle schooler I thought the art was super goofy and thought the series was going to be pure gag and goofy so I didn’t watched it till like end of middle school and I’ve never cried so much, felt so much sadness, happiness and anger from a series. It’s surprisingly a dark series. After 10+ years with One Piece I can say it’s my favorite series ever and it still going strong. The author is a genius madman I swear.

Quite a few of the fantastic/artistic/daily life scenes in the openings are from the cover pages of the manga where the author draws random scenes he comes up with or that the fans ask him to draw in the fanmail... Most of those scenes are the ones where they are doing day to day stuff accompanied by random animals... or traveling through space in a colorful park attraction little train...

theirs way more fighting in the actual show than in the openings to be fair, especially when it comes to show how happy the show is it gets pretty dark at times

just to clarify, there's no "slice of life arch" lol the oppennings often just have themes that pull us into the adventure. BUt don't be fooled, there is ALWAYS something going on.

One Piece is two years older than me and I'm 23. I stared watching when I was 11! It's insane. One of my biggest fears to date is not getting to see the ending.

Something I love about One Piece is that it doesnt focus entirely on the main character. All of the Strawhat Pirates get almost the same amount of Screentime and Epic Moments, all have their character development and own Arcs dedicated to them and their own Dreams. While also having many antogonists, allies or other parts of the One Piece World shown some times. It also deep dives into Politics and Racism, Experiments on Children and Genocides later on, but in a natural way

One Piece is my 2nd favorite manga, only gets beaten by Berserk, and by a very small margin. I often go back and forth on them because they are nothing alike, so its really hard to compare them, but they are by far the best at what they do.

Just found your channel when your review for episode 1 popped up on my page. And fyi… the best opening and ending credits are now. My favourites by leaps and bounds. Just wait till you get there to review it. :) And the manga started in 1997, the anime in 1999. 24 years with the anime. Lastly, they reuse the “We Are” original opening for anniversary stuff and flashback episodes mostly.

The thing about these reaction videos for only the openings is that you don't hear the characters' voices. So when they bring back the first opening with all of the main cast singing, reactors wouldn't know. Also, because of how many episodes there are in general, it feels like you haven't heard that first opening in forever (mind you that One Piece has 1000+ episodes). Also, they bring in the original opening for special occasions (like the 1000th episode or for a Christmas/new years special).

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of episodes One Piece has, but once you start watching it, it won't feel like it'sa big task to overcome.

Shen long looks like a "cartoon" version of dragon, but kaido dragon mode more like "badass,scary,powerfull,maybe realistic" version of dragon. Thats good asf.

If you don’t really like pirates, don’t worry the show isn’t REALLY about pirates, they’re on boat and outlaws like pirates but that’s about it, after the first couple of antagonists you can kinda forget about them being pirates if they didn’t call themselves pirates. No « Arrrr matey » and such either. I think being scared of the art style is fair, you probably saw some ugly characters out of context and the author doesn’t hesitate to draw them really ugly, but as you’ve seen it’s actually quite cohesive and looks fairly good when you look at the whole picture and it allows him to draw whatever he comes up with without it looking out of place in the world he created. It’s actually a choice he made because he is capable of drawing more realistically if he wanted to, but I can totally understand how the art style can look weird or unappealing at first

Hilarious comedy, drama, adventure, ironic hard-hitting sense of reality, fantastic world-building, wild designs and characters, PLOT TWIST, MYSTERIES, LURKING DARKNESS UNDERNEATH THE HAPPY VIBES, AMAZING MAIN CREW AND ESPECIALLY THE PROTAGONIST!!! There's so much! Also, don't let yourself be daunted by the episode count, there's no need to race through it, go by your own pace! Or pick up the manga if you want to go through it at the speed of light - the manga has an amazing pacing, almost flawless and lots of scenes that are censored or "milded" down in anime, aren't in the manga. Oda's art and story-telling is just perfect 🥹 Also, no, it's absolutely normal and common for people who really pay attention and have an open mind to get somehow already bit attached to the characters just by watching the openings and feel the weird "nostalgia". Now, imagine when you get to know them. Lemme tell u, I have never gotten more attached to fictional characters than I have to the one piece ones, especially the crew and ESPECIALLY Luffy. People can call me basic all they can, but as someone who re-read and re-watched one piece so many times, and watched, noticed, observed and discovered all there is to Luffy so far (which there is ofc still be more since the story is still ongoing and Luffy still has his secrets), I can positively and with confidence say, that he is my top favorite character of all time, ever, from any series. There are no Slice of Life Arcs its just that there are some Episodes here and there where they just fool around, and the first openings are mostly non canon Crew footage so you wont get spoiled the show

I didn’t fw pirates either, but with one piece i be forgetting they’re pirates. They’re just a group of bros going on an adventure, and it happens to be overseas. Most if the time isn’t even spent on the ship, but on islands. The only “piratey” times are in between arcs sailing to different islands.
