I've been watching the NFL forever and every year the teams that make it to the Conference Championships think they'll be back next year and most of them do not. The best you can hope for as a fan is that they'll be in contention and make it past the Wildcard Round. And even then your chances are one in eight to win it all.

It's Super Bowl or bust for every team every year, but if the Bengals don't do it this year it will get much harder.

AFC is Super competitive have to have a longer than one season horizon when so many good teams and quarterbacks in there, aim has to be improve and compete each year

I always find the "It's hard to get back to the SB" argument ridiculous. If you look back it's actually fairly common for good teams to make SB apperances over multiple years. The dynasty teams are usually contenders for an SB appearance for about 7-8 years. Good teams about 3-4.

Just to answer the question no it is not superbowl or bust. Every team, every coach, every trainer, every physio, every equipment guy, every recruitment officer, every owner, every fan, I should say every realistic fan, knows where the team sits. Every team has their own realistic goal or objective. I am certain that the Jets for instance will take this year as a learning one, see how their offense responds and look for improved efforts from all players and the team, and hopefully improve their record and get set next preseason for the attack on the Superbowl. I am sure Bellichik will call the shots, Mac Jones will enjoy that as he did in his rookie year and with the improvements made to the squad they will look at making the second week of the post season as a success. Not every team's idea of success is a superbowl and as long as the team feel they are moving forward and they can see improvement, then that will be satisfactory. Teams like Cowboys and Pittsburgh whose recent years have produced no improvement give the franchise a false sense of doing well, when in fact the franchise have some issues to fix before they can improve. With both those franchises I think a close look at the head coaches could start to fix the problems. Except for VCvhiefs in recent years Superbowl winners have come from teams who have improved significantly in one or more areas. The Bucs got the GOAT, the Rams got a QB-Miller-OBJ and the Eagles saw improvement in the QB performance. The only certainty I know going into this season is that the NFC will produce the unexpected team in the Superbowl if one makes it as the AFC has three genuine conference championship contenders in Chiefs, Bengals and Bills (if they stay healthy).

AFC is so stacked at QB it's ridiculous. Each year another team will shoot out like a cannon and compete for a title. It will be interesting to see how the GMs retool and reload each year in competition against KC. If you got a QB, you got a chance and potentially could mortgage the future with the hopes of stealing a chip. Some of these QBs will be wasted due to the ineptitude of management. Some will be wasted by a handcuffed GM. You can't trot out 22 all pros each game. This is going to be REALLY interesting.

Bengals aren't necessarily taking a step back but they're not taking one forward because Baltimore is about to do their thing this year. That spread offense with OBJ and co. under Munkins is about to be crazy. And Cincinnati hasn't been able to beat Baltimore when Lamar is healthy, nor can they get the Browns. AFC North is gonna be fun to watch, and I'm a Chiefs fan 😅

As a Bengals fan, I wouldn’t say Super Bowl or bust. But I think the expectation should be winning the Super Bowl this year and after this year the odds just get more and more stacked against you. With saying “Super Bowl or bust” I feel like that means if we don’t win it we need monumental change to the everything like firing the coaching staff. I don’t think that’s the case, if we don’t do it this year I think that just means back to the drawing board to try to do a minor reload to try again next season.
