G Propho Loading Nah this season is better. 15-0. Most points ever by an offense. 60 TDs. It’s unheard of. And they get 500+ yards on everyone no matter the team.
Tigers. Newton threw for 2,589 yards and 28 touchdowns with just six interceptions while rushing for 1,409 yards and 20 scores as the Tigers went undefeated and won the SEC championship
LSU beat five, FIVE teams in the final top eight polls. Not just beat but embarrassed them. Don't think we'll see greatness like that again for a while
I want to use the "Joe Burrow's a graduate & Trevor a sophmore" excuse but I can't use that foolish arguement. I knew that who ever would win this game deserves it. He is officially goated in the College Football Records for the greatest single season by a player. This was his '98 MJ Bulls year. I salute to LSU and the entire staff
This was just Burrow's year. I was a firm believer that he was the best player in college football all season and it was never in doubt. Never. As an LSU fan from Louisiana. I can say this season was unbelievable
They are in SEC which their top 5 or 6 could play in the playoffs, and 3 SEC west could really compete better than sooners, so if you compete in SEC they are really competing with the top teams already, just my opinion,
One of? Considering the level of talent they played against in putting up the numbers they did, the awards, the perfect season, and the championship, the 2019 LSU Tigers offense is THE best in NCAA history.
I have been waiting for about 20 years to see LSU use an offense like this! First year they did it, they straight cooked everyone! It’s good looking ahead!
@@tclaughridge delpit plays on the other side of stingley and lines up inthe box most the time stingley was the best man corner on the field the entire playoffs
I love the Clemson fans crying about the targetting call against them but was fine with the targetting call on Shawn Wade and Ohio State. No hypocrisy in that.
I am an LSU fan. The target call was right, no doubt. However, it took some competitiveness away from the game. LSU would have won but it could have been more interesting! Geaux Tigers!
Can they please show the DEFENSE of The LSU Tigers some love for how they played against Trevor Sunshine Lawrence? No passing TDs allowed by the Defense.
I am a Clemson fan and I agree. It is April and I have just come to terms with the loss lmao ( to be able to come here and watch the tube and read comments). I have been watching college ball for a long time since 1980 . I have seen 2 teams that I would consider the best of that era and possibly all time, the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers and 2019 LSU tigers. With hindsight to this season I feel it would have been a travesty to college football if C lemson came away with the victory even though that is what I wanted at the time. These teams only come around so often and it is special . Clemson is still in the midst of their dynasty anyway and if you are going to lose you want to lose to the best. There is no doubt that LSU was the best team of 2019 and arguably the best of all time.
The thing with AJ was that he had GOOD coverage but he wasn't turning around and looking for the ball. Not to mention Burrow was dropping dimes right in Chase's hands.
Critical Optimist Haskins had an incredible year in 2018. Burrow was pretty bad in 2018 and Fields never would’ve transferred to OSU if Burrow was there. It worked out for Ohio State.
wtf was the osu coaches thinking? they let the best player in college football history walk. if osu had burrow this year they prolly win. burrow is unstoppable. in college at least.
DeathGrinder B burrow at osu was not even close to as good as he is now. He was 3rd string there for a reason. Even last year burrow wasn’t that good. It was a mix of the time he spent getting better and putting in extra hours with his receivers and how well joe Brady and he work together with the new offense Brady brought to lsu
How can a guy have Skip's job but also think of Dabo as a great Xs and Os coach? He's exactly the same kind of coach as Orgeron. He's a recruiter, motivator, leader. He makes great hires.
@J Spring all these guys understand the x's and o's , they just aren't innovators or strategists. But they lead well , keep players motivated, teach proper technique, and delegate properly. They may not be the best chess players, but they know how to run a company.
never been more proud to be a baton rouge native than last night's celebration in new orleans! ☺️ greatest college football season EVER. 🗣 *PERIODT!* GEAUX TIGERS! 💜💛💜💛💜💛
I lived my freshman year in North Stadium and Sophomore in South Stadium. Back in the day when they still had dormitories in death valley. Nine years and three degrees and I bleed purple and gold. This season was unbelievable. I watched every have three four times. Joe Burrow is a saint in Louisiana forever. We had to listen to the Billy Cannon stories all my years there. Move over Billy. Here come Joe Bureaux
I don’t watch much college FB other than the title game every year and i also watched burrow vs tua, but from those 2 games I couldn’t be more convinced he will be good in the nfl, obviously there’s always a chance he busts but I wouldn’t bet on it.
None of those stats are relevant, look at who they played in 14 games. They literally only played OSU and #24 ranked Virginia. All us LSU fans heard is #2 ranked defense, #1 ranked scoring defense, and there is no way LSU defense will be able to contain Clemson offense, who has done nothing impressive all year... Talk is cheap 42 to 25 says it all. Nobody has beat this many high caliber teams in one season. LSU is the best team in college football.
It's all fun and games when you feast on the acc all year then the welcome wagon says yall can come visit new Orleans and some acc house cats get fed to the real tigers lol
I agree totally man all I heard was Brent Venables with 2 weeks to prepare is dangerous. 🤣 looks like 2 weeks was not enough got out scored 35-8 after they took a 17-7 lead better luck next year
@@jasonlatour3403 they wouldn’t of performed that well if they didn’t have burrow as their qb. He made each one better, so any other college an could of had those players and wouldn’t of had the results
@@firebird_spleen4190 idk about all that they wouldn’t have won a title the way they did without an a good qb but those guys would still be first round draft picks regardless of burrow
Best performance I've ever seen from a college qb on the biggest stage joe deserves all the accolades he receives I wish him the best at the next level
@@chucky6896 Literally LSU has produced elite talent at every position like Trai Turner, Leonard Fournette, Danielle Hunter, Devin White, Jamal Adams, “and Honey Badger”. You could probably make an all LSU football team at this point.
Right 😂 I found it quite funny that Clemson was supposed to have some type of Elite Defense. I guess giving up over 600 yards of offense gives you an Elite D.
Lot of names mentioned in this segment, but one that needs more recognition is Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He continued his typical beasting! His name shouldn’t ever get lost in the sauce 👌🏽
He may have beat out Haskins at OSU had he not gotten injured. That’s what sealed his fate there and allowed Haskins to seal the job. Burrow was never a slouch he just had some bad breaks until transferring to LSU. Kid is made of steel and will have a great career in the NFL. The things he did this season will be talked about for years to come.
NO we don't, LSU is just another team of the select few that have played in the playoff since it's inception and one of the select few who have played in the National Championship in the past 10 years. Since 2003 other than Alabama and Clemson LSU has appeared in the National Championship game the most times and and now has 3 titles to show for it. The football playoff this year consisted of Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson and LSU all teams who have appeared the most in terms of the playoff and BCS championship era.
This 2019 LSU squad is the Best Team Ever, the Best Offense I have ever seen and just imagine if that Defense was healthy all year. That 01 Miami team had NFL players on that team but their schedule was inferior. compared to LSU. 94 Nebraska,05 Texas, all the alabama teams & Clemson teams had inferior schedules. I kept saying all year that Clemson was representing a inferior conference and they also played teams outside of their conference that was inferior. Alabama since 2011 have been only focused on LSU & auburn, the rest of their opponents are inferior. Bama don't even travel to to Florida or Georgia and play them in their house,LSU historically even under Les miles never ran away from competition. Iron Sharpens Iron.
@@AerForz1 The only team alabama played that was superior in 2011 was LSU LSU started the Season playing Oregon in 2011,wtf are you talking about everybody knows saban is cowardice. He's only cares about beating LSU & aurburn, the rest of his opponents are inferior in conference opponents. or non conference opponents. He never plays georgia or florida at their house,(LSU over the years accepted those challenges)LSU have a track record of not ducking any body, bama gets no respect from me.
@@brandalecarter9354 meh LSU beat ole miss by 30 (no contest) and you mentioned texas a&m lmao!! For you to even bring those teams up is pure idiotic. If i was those teams fan bases,i would be ashamed to even brag about anything.ole miss ran for a lot of yards and still got curve stomped,it's not a accomplishment getting blown out by 30 or 40 points no matter how many yards was produced.
North Carolina , Virginia , Boston College , Miami , Syracuse , South , Louisville , South Carolina , LSU 🤔 now which one is NOT like the others 😂 and they say the schedule doesn't matter lol maybe if dabo scheduled tougher SEC teams during the season his team would of been ready for a team like LSU.... we saw ohio state punch em in the mouth on defense and LSU take their hearts on offense
@@86mjackson 💯 if Dabo would of played Georgia or Florida this year and won it probably negates that UNC game but he chose to pussyfoot so his team wouldn't get exposed or any key players injured and it burnt em on the biggest stage..... I bet if you asked Joe burrow or any of those receivers off the record they would probably tell you clemson wasn't even the best team they played this year lol
Skip: "Everybody puts 63 points on Oklahoma." Yeah Skip, but how many put 49 up in a single half? Coach O called the dogs off in the second half, otherwise it could have been 90+.
I think Skip was way off saying “ everyone is scoring 63 points against Oklahoma “ Oklahoma defense has giving up a lot of points HOWEVER THE SOONERS WERE RANKED # 4 at the time and they have a quarterback transfer from an SEC SCHOOL who prior to that game WAS UNDEFEATED AGAINST LSU
There was only one team that defended LSU this season and that was Auburn. Clemson took that film and did the best imitation of them they could but they didn't have those 2 tackles that auburn has nor the corners that you just put on an island all game and survive. Brilliantly coached game from Clemson but they just didn't have the push up front nor the skill in the back to hold up for 60 minutes. LSU was just strait up a juggernaut this season and a pure joy to watch.
Yeah Auburn has some monsters on that D-line that did a good job of getting pressure on burrow and disrupting a lot of plays keeping LSU off the scoreboard, they did play them the best defensively. Bama without question played LSU the best offensively, ounce bama shook off the rust and got rolling LSU has no answers whatsoever.
I think the deciding factor was that Clemson was in no way prepared to play a good team, much less an ELITE team because they didn't have to all season. Their first real opponent was Ohio State and they struggled mightily and whether you want to acknowledge it or not they got a little help with that win. The biggest difference I saw between these two teams is that LSU didn't panic when they fell behind. They simply remained calm, made the necessary adjustments, and played their brand of football. By contrast Clemson was obviously uncomfortable with playing from behind and it was very evident that Trevor Lawrence became rattled when things went south. They had romped and stomped through a mediocre schedule of opponents who barely put up a fight so they had no idea what to do when suddenly faced with major adversity.
Agreed! Clemson and OU coasted through their soft schedules, then had to play an SEC team. Bama and Auburn (and maybe Florida and Georgia) played LSU tougher than Clemson did. Even Ole Miss played LSU tougher than OU did.
I have to agree. I didn’t think Joe Burrow was that guy early in the season. But he’s made me a believer. This dude has IT. Can’t wait to see him on the next level.
It was incredible to watch him all season. As an LSU fan I don’t see it ever getting any better from here. That’s ok though, just glad I was able to witness it. Can’t wait to see him in the NFL.
Everybody says "he came outta no where". He didn't just get that good while he was at LSU. He was lighting it up high school also. He's been great since he was very young. Just look it up. GEAUX TIGAHS!!!
The 2019 Clemson realistically is about as good as some of Saban's relatively decent teams (2008, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2019), but got the major benefit of never being tested (and risk being beaten) by any medium-to-top-tier teams during the regular season like those Bama teams did.
So, Coach O brings in Matt Canada in 2017 because the LSU higher-ups told him too. Then, he fires Canada for having a terrible offense system, gives the coordinator job to Ensminger, a guy no one else believes in but Coach O, and finds a guy, seemingly out of nowhere, to implement the exact spread offense he said he wanted. But, please Skip, continue to explain how he isn’t an “Xs and Os” guy and isn’t about “strategy”. By all means, continue to underestimate the guy because he has a “funny” accent. It’s your football funeral.
Clemson plays in the ACC. The competition isn’t even close compared to the SEC. All those defensive stats mean nothing...LSU was a machine this year, no one was stopping them.
MrTron It has a lot to do with the conference. ACC has been trash for years. Clemson has had the easiest path to the playoffs for years. I give you this, Clemson destroyed two years ago, but SEC definitely has better competition. Clemson was only ranked #1 in defense because of the conference they played in, until they play real competition, like OSU and LSU.
MrTron prior to this year that’s fine. However, let’s break it down, Ohio state was really giving Clemson the best of their offense. Also, had 4 opportunities in he red zone. Honestly, OSU should’ve been up 31-0 in the first quarter. Nobody in the ACC has a really a great offense.
MrTron honestly you’re right, but being a LSU fan, Clemson didn’t deserve the #1 defense because of the competition they played on 2019. Auburn showed they were way better than Clemson.
MrTron I can. Auburn dominated defensively. Clemson didn’t play anyone at all that’s going to challenge them like LSU did. AJ Terrell was supposedly the best corner on the team, but he got destroyed the whole night.
LSU NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏈🐅🏆💪🏾💯 so proud of Joe Burrow & our LSU tigers well deserved champs 15-0 A perfect season gave Clemson that fresh hot L like Amazon Prime 😂
Aaron Rodgers Jr. was throwing dimes! It was beautiful to watch, the AFC north is gonna be interesting with Big Ben, Baker, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow🔥
Congratulations Joe Burrow! You beat 7 of the top 10 teams. Went undefeated. Set the FBS TD record. Won the National Championship. Your reward? 🤔 The Cincinnati Bengals. 😆😅
@Dre Mac karma definitely was like Amazon Prime for Trevor Lawrence. Blowing kisses to the LSU student section like the game was over. Karma said “ not so fast, son!”
Joe Burrow broke his hand at OSU so he couldn’t practice. That’s why the QB competition went more quickly to Haskins. Then they told him where he stood early enough so that he could transfer.
Rewatching in 2024, love pulling up these old videos to remember fresh reactions. Now Burrow (when healthy) is one of the best QBs in the NFL, Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase are arguably the two best receivers in the league, Stingley just had a monster sophmore pro season, and many more making big impact in the NFL. That was a special team and special season, especially how they finished the season kickin the shi+ outta great teams on the biggest stages. Geaux Tigers
People will run with the “Clemson is overrated” narrative but honestly that defense couldn’t handle that offense & I don’t think any defense in the nation was gonna hold LSU in THAT game. Clemson was blitzing tryin to get them off the field quickly and burrow stuck in there and passed to his NFL ready WR’s. That QB + WR core at LSU Might be the best I’ve seen in my life. It’s hard to argue that that offense isn’t the most pro ready offense personnel wise in the history of college football. Burrow cut that defense up like cake. LSU receivers also is the best WR core in the land by far. Kudos to them. They deserved it.
Clemson is overrated because they have all of these great stats against the weakest conference in all of college football. Like it's not rocket science, skip is sitting here talking about how their defense was the number one scoring defense in college football and everyone with a brain is like yeah AGAINST THE ACC 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️. Clemson played their first true opponent and lost badly they got the dog snot beat out of them 👍.
Peyton G yes they play a pansy schedule every year, their stats are definitely inflated because of that...but what happens by the end of the year when they face the best of the best..they are still able to beat those teams...that’s how they were able to win the natty last year and that’s how they made appearances the years prior...they are still a very good football team, there is no denying that and I’m a LSU fan. With that said...it just makes it that much more impressive how LSU beat them..LSU just wasn’t going to be stopped by anybody this year. They were the better team. Period
What was really impressive to me is LSU scored 42 points on Clemson and there was 5 to 6 possession during this game where LSU didn't score any points, and still scored 42 points
I think that Ole Miss game helped them in the long run. It woke up the D, and got them ready for Hurts. They shut down Hurts, and dared him to pass. He couldn't.
@@amcasanave The Ole Miss qb was fantastic...at least running the ball. Thankfully LSU scored lots of points that game. I think the Ole Miss qb ran for 4 freakin TDs. I was going crazy watching that game. In the post game press conference, Joe Burrow said he wished he had that speed.
They still dont understand that Clemson’s defense is very average. They play a very weak schedule. That is why they were the #1 scoring defense. LSU Forever!!!!!!
